I know this is from a while ago, but I'm having the exact same problem with my v2 pro series 3...with the loose leaf cartridge attached, i hold the button down for 3 seconds to activate it and it goes red for maybe 5 seconds but then just shuts right off, no yellow or green. Can't seem to figure...
