Why not consider a second IQ, it's cheaper than the mighty and you already have all the backup gear for the IQ. I did that and it works great for me.

I have the same problem of the battery light remaining on when the unit is off. Like you, I used it while charging. Did you manage to find a solution for this issue? I did do a hard reset but it did not solve the problem.
