    Rosin Technique....Easy DIY Solventless

None of you are understanding what i'm saying. The cannabinoids are in the rosin. I'm trying to get as much out of the buds as i can. So adding cheap terps, maybe could help to extract more. Forcing more oil out of the chips. Why is that so hard to get? Either way i'll experiment.

I do understand the proper moisture percentages for the best yield. I'm considering terpene content and final yield, like it's another variable playing a role. If we can find the best terpene percentage for the best yield, like we have for moisture, maybe we could work to improve overall yields...

I usually press at between 200 and 220 max, but i turned my press on and forgot about it... When i remembered i turned it on it was bumped up to 256. My DIY press just heats up slow and i turn off the heaters at the sweet spots. (it turns off after an hr of no use.. for safety of course) I can...

so my pressings been going good, averaging 20%. I'm still having trouble truly understanding what's going on though... is it volatile terpenes or moisture forcing the oil out of the chips? The other day i pressed too hot, around 260, and for too long. When i took the paper out some steam came...

I do not think the ram size matters, either way the force coming from it is being transferred to the puck. I always just used final puck size and the size of the jack. I do tend to get the jack to the point of not being able to press anymore, so full strength. It's served over a year no issues...

definitely. How could you yield even higher than the thc content of the flower?

Have you ever tried the same technique, but pressing 4 separate times while lifting at 1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes and then one at 4 minutes to compare yields? Now that i'm thinking of this I think we could each make an equation for all of our seperate diy or bought presses to find the max...

I did this once and it was a real nasty taste, full of chlorophyll even after i winterized. I don't remember my yields at all, but it wasn't much. How long did you freeze for? And did you do a second decarb? Mine weren't activated enough, i remember eating a few caps that did basically nothing...

Lol, i understand your situation. I mounted my first vice to my bedroom dresser. Besides my mattress sitting right on the floor, it was the only furniture in my rented room... If you need to smoke or dab, just find a way. My dresser was 25$ through a yard sale, but 4 screw holes in the top of...

That vice is a piece of crap! Those cheap irwin vices, even the giant rotating 5 inch ones are pieces of crap. i've went through 2 in my rosin quest. If you want a vice get a vintage one from the 50's or 60's. They're all over craigslist and ebay. The vices nowadays are crap made from chinese...

I know none of this was at me, but i have noticed the majority of rural populations do tend to use lower quality products... They aren't as into the "community idea." But this leads to a small minority which usually uses very high quality products too. So you get both sides. it's just hard to...

This is true. I'm almost afraid to post my above press because of the bashing i know it's about to recieve. But it works. And i don't see very many better diy presses in the thread. I'm sure your $70 press works great, don't worry about what someone with a press company has to say...

It's not good looking at all, it's the most ghetto looking press in the thread. But shes lasted me over a year with no issues. The jb weld holding the plates together sort of fails occasionally so they're wired together just incase they pop off during a press. I could press 4 grams in a well...

A DIY bottle jack press. It should cost you less than an arbor press with plates, and it could be smaller than an arbor press as well. I built an 8 tonner for about $200 total. Put your brain to work, kill a few hrs and build a press. I went from body weight, to clamps, to a cheapo vice, to a...

I've been getting crystalization regularly with under 220 degree presses, i do a little bit of whipping and ignore it for a day or two. But this seems completely different. And it looks like you've got a heavy cake batter there, mine was always closer to budder. I'd really like to get that...

Hmmm... so a mazon jar with some fresh oxy-absorb, or similar oxygen absorbing packets, might work? Just put your oil in parchment with it?

Get something like this and use it to clamp your straightener. If you want, take the straightener apart and put the heaters straight on the clamp. Ise jb weld or even just wires. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Kreg-AutoMaxx-3-in-Face-Clamp-KHC-1410/205435694

This really has been discussed at length, but i get how big this thread is. To be honest i don't really expect you to read the whole thing... but it'd be nice if you did! You'd really be impressed by the info here. If i want something tasty i press at 190-210 for 45-55 seconds, if i'm going for...

    1. use parchment 2. directional flow is very worthwhile, i fold triangles with a flat bottom, some oil always collects there too, it's like a trapezoid in shape. But you have big plates so use them. How much pressure overall does your press put out? With an 8 tonner i'd be using about 8,000 psi...

I've been having problems with my homemade press. I haven't taken it apart yet to see if theres anything broken or overly warped, I haven't had time. But it's worrying me. The plate just defects too much now. Anyone with homemade presses ever find a way to keep this from happening? The plate...
