In my personal experience with friend's glass, most vortex percs are built for a smoker's drag. We tend to draw more slowly when we vape. A lot of the time I can milk a friend's piece with a vortex, or I can make the vortex work well with thinner vapor. Not both.

I absolutely love mine dry. The water definitely lets you hit it harder, but you can't beat the dry stem for flavor, imo. I usually hit it with a water piece with friends, and hit the dry stem when I'm lazy/taking it somewhere else.

How much herb are you using? If I heat soak a clean unit with a small amount of cotton as a filter I can fill my lungs completely with thick vapor in about 6 seconds. If I slow it down to like, a 12 second draw, the vapor is noticeably less dense, so it's roughly an ideal hit pretty quickly.
