I actually always use the SS pods, packed very tightly. Even with the pods, moving the pearl closer to the pod decreases airflow and increases vapor. It’s actually a pretty elegant and simple way to control draw and vapor on the IQC. I was very impressed by the design.
I have to say the little pearl thing on the IQC does a great job of regulating the draw. Every quarter turn can make a noticeable difference. I find if I’m not getting as thick vapor as I like I turn the Pearl a bit counterclockwise and bam! Thicker vapor.
It’s probably not as fine-tuned as the...
Yeah I already own the IQC but was considering upgrading. Thanks to Buzz’s 30% off coupon code I got it down to basically the cost of the IQC, a little over 200. (I’m also waiting on replacements for my IQCs so I may get the 2 before those show up!)
Only downside appears to be the charging...
Thanks. Yeah I looked at the site….I think I missed the air path material info though. I’m assuming the dosing pods/capsules that work with the IQC also work with the 2….
I’m sure it’s buried in this thread somewhere….but can someone give me the 30 second lecture on the differences between the IQC and the IQ2? Are the additional features worth the extra money? (I love the IQC btw.)
(Sorry for back-to-back posts, but this thread has been silent for a few days so….)
Anyway it took a while to get a response from Davinci re: the weird green residue I’ve seen in both my IQCs. Today I finally got the following:
So I’m sending back both units. It’s not clear if they’ll replace...
It is amazing how awful the weed in the 70s was, relative to today. That “Mexican” commercial (mersh, as we called it) weed that cost 20 bucks an ounce was weak as hell. We used to smoke several joints among three of us just to get a buzz. It wasn’t till around 1981 in college that I tried...
Thanks! You are too kind. I spent a lot of time with those vapes in their early days, and had a few that failed so I got pretty good at working them. I do think they had the most transparent flavor of any portable I’ve used, particularly the first version, but I’m also too lazy in my old age now...
Well, they did improve it once for the FF2 (and incrementally for the Plus) but it’s been seven years without a reboot which is too long in this industry. I think having their main design visionary leave the company to focus on other technologies did not help them.
There’s still a chance they...
I think the very green color is the weird bit. It doesn’t look brownish like usual weed resin. Not sure if my pix do it justice. You see the “post reply” button on the bottom of this thread? It’s that shade of green. It seems to coalesce around the metal base of the plate that holds the round...
I have contacted the company but haven’t heard back from them. I dm-ed the company rep here weeks ago but he/she hasn’t seen fit to reply. You’d think they’d wanna address potential health hazards a little more quickly.
The fact that both of my units, bought months apart from different...
Weird one for the Davinci crew. I have 2 IQCs. I’ve noticed with both of them recently a greenish resin on the steel plate on the inside bottom of the unit near the herb chamber. On one it kind of builds up on the seal around the round metal ball mounting (the black circular base). On both I...
Portables, as a category, have always been pricier than desktops, generally speaking. Hell, you can get a log setup like an E Nano for a little over 100 that your heirs will be fighting over. Hard to find a great port for that kind of money.
The Mighty really does tick all the boxes for some of...
I was convinced I had this problem with my 10-month-old Mighty plus. USB C plug felt wobbly. Charging was intermittent and super temperamental. I even got an RMA and was ready to send the unit in.
Then, on a whim, I did the thing I should have tried first: plugged in a different USB C cable...
Everybody’s advice here is right on, I think. I get great vapor production with the following:
1. Use the SS capsules as the extra metal adds some thermal mass.
2. Pack as dense as I can. Like I pack those fuckers with some serious force.
3. Unscrew the little ball enough to restrict the...
It’s grippy. But it can get super hot if you do a couple consecutive ON segments. ( it’s nice that the auto shutoff isn’t too short like the Mighty….but it’s probably a little too long.)
A sleeve seems like a good idea. Literally the only downside of the IQC is how hot it can get.
Well, I couldn’t resist. My wife was ordering a new pen from one of the few retailers who will ship here to Maine. She had a 15% coupon and they had one black IQC left in stock….and while I would’ve preferred maybe red or green, snagging an IQC for 166 including tax and shipping was something I...
I just put ground flower in one, and tamp it pretty densely with the blunt end of a metal pick tool (actually the one I got with a Silver Surfer like a billion years ago). I like to layer flower, extract, and flower. They are narrow but pretty easy to load.
The capsules are great. A must-have...
