Oldie but a goodie. First took a hit in April '65. Stopped regular use in '72 when I learned TM. Prostatectomy in Jan 2014 put me back on the road of medical cannabis. Now I grow my own :myday::brow::brow:
@RustyOldNail Yes, I remember reading that on Leafly some time ago. A conclusion could be that the sedative properties of all cultivars of cannabis are due to myrcene. And we know that some “indicas” with greater concentrations of pinene, limonene, and beta-caryophyllene can be somewhat...
It’s pointless. So… Back to what is your favorite sativa and why?
“I researched it on the internet” only slightly prepared me to deal with the real world issues that came up growing outdoors from seed in my backyard. Some people are like a backseat driver who doesn’t know when to just STFU...
@GoldenBud Im sure your intentions are good but it is time to back off. You are not a grower and have no personal experience. I, like most homegrowers, have read that kind of information and know much of that stuff already. I keep bees too and the saying we have is if you ask ten beekeepers...
@GoldenBud my whole post was about growing outdoors, both autos and photos. I live in Calif and have no place nor desire to grow indoors. If I did I wouldn't grow autos. I don't have, currently, a way to directly upload or link a photo. Too much bother.
A big reason to grow autos is harvests in 3 months. So if you can start outdoors in April you can harvest by July 1, and again by Oct 1. But I don’t do a second crop. I plant photos too. The only reason not grow autos is lower potency. I’ve grown autos out door since 2015. The quality...
So your Mouse Party scenario says that "Before marijuana enters the system inhibitory neurotransmitters are active in the synapse. These neurotransmitters inhibit dopamine from being released." That inhibitory neurotransmitter is in fact GABA.
"Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is an amino acid...
@GoldenBud I know you are well intentioned, and I don't know what your background is, but here is what really happens:
"ECS have been found to exert vasorelaxing effects in cardiovascular system which appears to be mediated by numerous pathways. Activation of CB1 receptors in mice have been...
I’m a retired RN. Your doc is confused. Nicotine causes elevated BP by vasoconstriction. Cannabis does cause an elevated HR and lowered BP because it causes vasodilation.
I grow my own. I cure and store dried, trimmed bud in 1 qt jars. But I transfer bud into eighth jars from dispensaries for smaller amounts at a table for current consumption. Usually have 8-10 strains to choose from.
Anything taken orally, tinctures, edibles, pass through the liver where delta-9 is converted to 11-hydroxyl-THC, which supposedly is 4-5 times stronger than delta-9thc.
Higher temps just mean quicker extraction, not better. I don’t like to go over 385 just because of comfort. So I have to take 1 or 2 more hits - I don’t have to hack or cough. 🤪
I don’t use low temps with CBD. I think you need to vape at least at 365f because most terpenes vaporize by that temp (but not all.) THC begins to vaporize at about 311, and CBD at about 329.
Why take a T-break? Most of us who take T-breaks do so to clean up our system and reset our endocannibinoid system. If you are “dependent”, that is, have some withdrawal symptoms when you stop consuming it doesn’t mean you are addicted.
