    I use a fine wool and don't get have any scratches at all after 4 months. It's the same stuff we use on our expensive stainless steel cookware.

    I don't take it apart to clean. I soak it in ISO, then scrub the stainless steel stem with steel wool and use a pipe cleaner and swab on the rest of the mouthpiece.
