I wrap the curves for the mini mammoths either left or right. I always ask when people place orders so I know which side they want.

Yes they basically took the design of the Vapor Genie, but instead of herb underneath the ceramic disk, they put oil on top of it. They might use a different pore size.

I would also think you would loose more oil due to it falling through. Though I have not used one, the Eclipse Vape with those little vials would seem from a design standpoint like they would be the most efficient way for vaping oils, considering the oil is trapped in a sealed vial and you apply only the amount of heat needed to release the vapor.

although you may lose some oil because it falls though the filtre, it will be easy to reclaim. i just watched a vid where a guy cleans his vapor curve by gently heating it so the oil runs down into a dish. sorry i don't have a link and i can't find again - of course! i think that the healthstone glass piece would be easier to get the reclaim out of then the eclipse vials.

i really don't like vial system, its seems like too much work, cleaning, changing, refilling, buying new ones. i am uber lazy though and i find it difficult to clean my existing glass as often as i think i should.

i thought maybe the vapor stone would be an alternative. doesn't sound like anyone has tried it yet though...

my concern is that the stone will have combustion products adhering to its surface.

there's no reason to then wash the tar off and then try to vape it.
why not just boil it off in a vape instead of combusting?

Why would that be if you are using a jet lighter?
jet or candle style flame, you're still combusting http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combustion
you're heating a fuel (psychoactive resin mixture, I.E. resin glands), in the presence of oxygen and flame. the result is combustion. you'll waste alot of the actives.

hope i am in the right place and not too off topic
i just got my first oil dome
http://www.ioffer.com/i/new-14-mm-glass-skillets-for-concentrate-hash-163043289
they didnt have any oil so i planned to make it myself, figured i would go with the glass extractor from gnossy. while i was waiting for it to come we tried using some bubble hash. we heated the pad red hot with a torch and the hash just kind of roasted not even enough to taste it.
i am thinking maybe my pad isnt titanium and not getting hot enough? or hash doesnt work the same? i wanna do some more research before i waste any more.

i just came across it and i haven't found much info on it. check out 3:26 in to the vid, the oil is oozing through the stone onto the glass. so did he get all the goodness out of it? the reclaim would still be pretty potent i bet!

The guys at my local shop high end glass shop think this stuff is the greatest think since sliced bread. I have yet to try it -- but they seem to think this is going to revolutionize the market.

Hey Bro I hate to be the one to tell you but I bought the same unit thinking it was a Labworx skillet because it looks just like the early versions that Cade Stone of Labworx made but sadly these are knock offs I sent mine into Labworx and Cade showed me the difference between his and the knock off and one the the big differences is the pad that pad isn't ti I believe it's stainless which you really don't want to vape off of due to the ions that are released at some vape temps.

Go Check out http://labworx-skillet.com/lws/?page_id=247 he has the plain jane for $70 and even one with some color for $10 more, the one you have would even be ok with a different pad wrapped on it heres a link for a how to http://www.tokecity.com/forums/showthread.php4?t=35406 on pad wrapping and a new pad can be acquired here http://aqualabtechnologies.com/conc...let-vapor-curve/vapor-plate-titanium-pad.html, Good luck and always be Errly!!!

Ps. Bubble hash and the like don't vape well on a skillet get a concentrate bowl and a glass rod like this http://aqualabtechnologies.com/illadelph-hot-hit-slide-straight-green-14-mm.html

thanks rbrown,
does the ti get hotter than stainless? i thought that pad heated up way to easy and i questioned the weld (looking close you can see what looks like a plating is burned off around the edges).

does oil produce more vapor than hash? the hash just kind of cooked and for a long time, you couldnt really get a hit but you had a long time to try. i was hoping to know i had my rig all together with hash before i got into extracting oil and get that all together.

think i will just get a new pad and rewire the glass and look into something else for hash.
how does the hot hit work, it said it was a bowl with three holes in the side so, do you heat the inside of the bowl first or just hit it with a lightor or a torch??

the hot hit bowl has holes in the side of the bowl instead of the bottom you drop a chunk of hash in the bottom take a glass rod heat it to glowing then tamp the hash with the rod while inhaling once you try this you wont rip shish any other way trust me.

oil produces vapor when dabbed on a skillet good oil will have no plant matter at all hash does so it tends to smolder on a skillet.

I know what ya mean I was into bubble for a while and then a buddy introduced me to errl and I haven't looked back (well I did pick 5 grs. of some purple diesel full melt the other day) I loves me some concentrates ;-)

You will dig the flavor of your shish so much with this setup, I would get the rod actually I would get one of ALT's vapor paddles because you can use one end to hothit the shish and then the other you can vape oil through your curve/bell off of glass which is a whole other flavor experience and the paddle is $10 than the illedelph

Stevebeast:

Since u already have a curve, why not get a herb iron or similar device? Just put your stuff right on the hearing element, hit the button and then hold it under your curve to catch the rising smoke. This is my fav way to do semi hardpressed concentrates. They should be a little maleable in order to be able to mould it onto the HI. Haven't tried it with bubble so not sure if it will just fall off.

Otherwise go to etsy and get a humboldt county glass hot knives. They are cheap and work great.

Thoushaltvape:

Why do your friends like it so much? I read that the vg ceramic filter will degrade after some heavy use. I wonder if the hot stone filter does too? I don know exactly what it is made of yet.

They aren't putting a lot of money behind it to promote it, or even just putting the word out on forums and YouTube. It won't revolutionize the industry if no one knows about it.

Bro I started out trying to vape oil off of a hakko under a bell and it doesn't work at all the guys question was originally about his skillet for oil, oil will roll right off an iron and drip hot oil on whatever is under it, have you ever even tried a concentrate bowl and hot glass rod before? it is IMO the most efficient way to rip hash (bubble and the like) the tatse is so clean and fresh I have used the hot knives your refer to on Etsy and they are cheap and they do work but they are maybe half as efficient as the concentrate bowl IMO and experience.

Peace

actually, the l question was answering was about hash not oil:

stevebeast; "think i will just get a new pad and rewire the glass and look into something else for hash."

yes the HI sucks for heating oil. but it may be the most efficient way for hash.

no, i haven't used the hot hit bowl. wanna lend me yours? :p

there are a few more vids on youtube now.
also, i have noticed that ALT is now carrying the health stone glass lineup of stones and slides. a few have already been sold. i wonder if anyone who purchased them already will post a review on FC?

i am quite tempted to get one myself, but i still don't know what the stone is made of. also, i am torn between this and a tried and true dome, with either a quartz, or ti nail. i already have a ti curve, which is why i have held off on buying a dome - they pretty much do the same thing, (vape BHO) just in different ways.

it might be worth it for those times when you get insta budder, while doing a BHO run.

rbrown:

can you post a pic of your hot hit bowl after it has been used for hard pressed concentrates? i would like to see if there is any residue left over in the bowl. is it easy to reclaim any leftovers?

when i use the HI the product turns to white ash and doesn't leave any stains on the HI once its been reheated. i can then reclaim the buildup on my curve by simply heating it with a torch, and letting it pool into a dish. it tastes shitty but its potent. this is why i recommended the hi and curve, or the humboltcountyglass knives, for hard pressed concentrates.
