The Boil That Oil Thread!

That looks like the old skillet, I read they used to have weld failures because they tried to weld titanium skillet to a stainless steel arm which doesn't work to well, I read the vaporswing uses all titanium welded to titanium to avoid this problem. I bet if you contact the company Labworx who makes your curve they would replace yours with the new wrapped version that is on Aqualabs site.

Thanks for the tip after looking around the web and seeing the change in the new model I emailed Labworx to see if I could get the new pad I would be willing to pay for it.

Next time try leaving the glass cap off one end and zip-tie a coffee filter on intead, this will allow for more flow so the fluid doesn't try to escape by reaching the bottom and head straight back up to the other hole.
Thanks for the advice. I'll be trying it out this week. I got an oz just waiting to be turned into BHO.

rbrown, your setup looks awesome! I'm glad you're enjoying it. Are you getting a matching curve from HMK or another colour?

Went for another BHO run last night and this time it turned out right. Problem was too much pressure, thanks stinkmeaner. I was using a glass extractor tube and the coffee filter was packed too tight inside. I just ran it without a filter and apart from a bit of herb coming through, it ended great. I kept it in a small jar. Not sure the weight I got but I think it was like 1 gram from 7 grams of bud.

Now I know why they say once you go BHO, you can't go back. This stuff is tasty and hits hard!

Interesting thread. I've been using a vapor globe for concentrates, glass nail broke within a month. Replaced with a Kabley titanium nail, which is the way to go. Works great. If I had to buy another globe I would get one with a side opening rather than top though.

Which is better? Seems like the Ti pad gets more love than the domes. I'm gettin ready to make my first batch of BHO, and while I'll probably wind up getting both because I love toys, I'm curious about people's opinions on the two.

Thanks in advance.

Nothing wrong with getting both. I prefer a dome with a Kabley titanium nail used with a small beaker bong, my daily driver is a SYN 38 mm beaker.

Yeah it's all preference. I personaly think domes are a little easier to dab but curves are a bit easier to use and a little less airy. After using a dedicated oil rig I started liking curves alot more. Small air volume is a must and you don't need a whole lot of diffusion. I'd honestly be fine with my dome if I had a smaller tube layin around. It just hasn't got much use since I got my oil bub....

I definitely prefer the taste and hit my curves give, but get both for sure.. always good to have options

been feeling the dome lately as it's been getting hotter, I can hit my dome with the fan on no prob lol.. i try that with the curve and I lose half of my hit

Lol^^^^ that would be a huuuuuge factor for me if I lived as close to the equator as you.

Yeah bro, it's getting real hot lately.. sucks cuz you know when you take those FAT dabs, you start to sweat.. so gotta have that fan on already

Well heres my errl rig the the N3RD inline bub I aquired from quomist right here on FC(Thank you soo much bro), the dish is also N3RD's I picked up at aqualabtechnologies.com and the Skillet vapor curve that I really don't care for but was all my local shop had on hand I have an HMK on order:

This oil thing is awesome my poor vapor brothers vape hasne't been touched in weeks: :brow:
Well I unfairly said I didn't care for the Labworx skillet vapor curve when the unit in the pic is a cheap knock off come to find out, I emailed labworx and was informed that there are alot of these knock offs out there and when you hold the cheapy and the labworx at the same time there is no doubt the labworx is quality. I was going to get an HMK but the bub I use is kinda front heavy and the HMK sticks out front a little to far where the labworx fits the peice really well it's a lot shorter and more compact than the one in the pics above ( I'll post some pics of the new one later) I know HMK is credited as putting these things together and he makes an amazing piece but don't count Labworx out this is a very well made product.

I emailed Labworx direct several times and was treated like I was Important to them and the person I dealt with was very knowledgeable and helpful.

Thanks, I kinda figured I wind up with both anyway, I love toys :)

I'm lookin at the small okief tube. It says 22g capacity, would it be effective on smaller loads, and if so, how small of a load could I do?

Nice setup rbrown! Wish I got to try oil off that bub. I'm a recent convert as well.

B, you should go for a smaller tube if you aren't hitting the max. The material should be consistently packed in the tube. My tube takes about 7 grams at once. After seeing the small yields and how much of a bitch it is to clear out the butane washed weed for a second run, I wish I got a bigger one.

Thanks quomist this bub skillet/curve is a killer combo I can't imagine anything hitting any better, thanks again bro...

B, since you guys are on the subject here is my copper tube, now I know some people don't like copper because it can oxidize and it could be harmful that is if you let it oxidize i've found the best remedy to combat the oxidation is to keep this this well OILED!!!!

And here it is I have a screen in the outlet which is glued in place by oil and that happened the first time I used it I also put one layer of coffee filter the foam around the piece is the insulating for this kind of tubing it has a seam with glue on one side and catalyst on the other and when you remove paper strip from them and put the two edges together they bond an will never come apart the tape on the ends is sports/hockey tape I still use an oven mitt just in case.

This tube holds 32grs. of fresh bud (first run) and about 40-45grs. of broken up (second run) give or take my last run of LA confidential was 32grs in first run 4.1 grams out ( I was blown away this was my best yield so far) and broken up second run of the 32grs. with maybe 3grs of fresh bud at the outlet (green filter) yielded 2.1grs. almost 6.5grs now this has nothing to do with the tube but the frosty bud, although the tube works flawlessly.

I wanted to see what folks thought of this my wife came up with this idea to combat the front end dive this piece tends to have (I still love this piece) she has been making these cool hemp and wood bead bracelets and just threw this together with a loop and bead closure, I think it looks pretty cool and it works very well.

And here is another one with a cool fat black die with 8 Ball looking numbers that was in a jar of misc. game pieces so I drilled it and she made this.
