Nice! Hmm. I haven't received anything yet. How do you check your order status online?

Yours (mine included, probably a few others) will most likely not get shipped until Monday.

To check your order, you simply go to the FF site and log in and go to My Account. It will show* your order(s)'s status.

Don't really understand why they keep giving us shipping dates if they are obviously not going to meet them.

Why would they send us an email it is sending this week and then not send it this week?

Another few weeks of calling every other day? Sounds like fun!

Ok I just added tape all around the lid and figured it out. It's the mouthpiece. Air gets in around the mouthpiece seal.

If I take off the mouthpiece, make a seal with my lips and try to draw I can't.

Hmm...this seems like it would be thinning out my vapor.

@BabaRobDass The reason I'm doing these experiments is that I'm still trying to decide how I feel about the unit.

I was hoping this would be the portable equivalent of my e-nano, which I love because its so efficient. So far it's not. But I'm still trying to figure out how to use it better. I think my experience can improve. My experience, and friends who used it this weekend, felt that is was more confusing than the Pax1 I've used which gives off very obvious, if not the smoothest vapor. Don't get me wrong, I still get vapor and effects, but there is an element of how well it's working that is lingering.

However if my mouthpiece is allowing air to get in, then I think this whole FF2 equation would be thrown off.

Ok, I wanted to post an update to my tape experiment. In short, the unit does not have any air leaks. What I thought was the mouthpiece leaking was really just me sucking existing air from inside the lid. Once I put my finger over the air hole above the mouthpiece it created a total seal. My bad. The only place I could get any external air at all to come in was around the lid, but it was neligible. I would say the lid provided a 95-98% seal, and given normal venting, would not result in any external air coming in and mixing with the vapor.

I would say that a significant portion of the air, I'm guessing, maybe up to 50% of the air comes in via the bottom. I say that because airflow seems the same if I block the main vents, and just use the bottom, or vice versa. However, what I am very happy to report, is that regardless of where the air comes in, it flows through the chamber, hence no clean air mixing with the vapor. Yay!

Ok, so now my experience. It's greatly improving. I can get big, satisfying clouds. However, I can't get them every time. The result seems very dependent on the grind/draw speed. It's finicky. Sometimes slow draw seems to work best, sometimes faster draw does. Overpacking definitely does not seem to work for me. I'm getting the best results with a 3/5 packed chamber. It's all about the airflow through the material being just right. It's almost like I have to become "one" with how your draw and draw resistance is feeling :) I'm using High temp.

I find the the cheap acrylic grinder included with my order from VapeWorld provides a nice coarse grind which is working better than the finer grind provided by my SpaceCase Scout Small.

A few tips that have helped me so far:
- make sure to take at least a 10-15 second draw. the thick cloud producing vapor seems to happen in the last few seconds of this as the temperature rises.
- take deep breaths, use your diaphragm. not shallow "joint" type mouth breaths. thankfully this vapor is so darn cool, you can take a huge deep breath and not have to worry about it being uncomfortable

Lastly, the minimum amount I've been able to get a satisfying hit from is .040g. Enough to cover the bottom of the bowl and stay in place with a light finger tamp.

Also, I'm digging the "finger stir" demonstrated in the Mark Robinson FF instructional video they posted. It's nice to not always have to worry about having a stirrer.

I wish another company was handling this product, but we're stuck with these guys.

Be careful what you wish for. I know many here will agree with me when I say there are much worse service organizations that could be handling this...I would never name names, but if you've been around the portable vape block a few times, you have quite a few service horror stories. FF appear to be going through some growing pains after the 2 release. Give them a break...they'll catch up and be back to their stellar service level soon, I would guess.

Glad to hear your experiments had a happy ending. I pretty much knew this would be the conclusion but it's nice to see it verified with some real-world scientific method. :)

A while back someone mentioned medium low heat setting. Well I've adopted and pretty much use it exclusively as of late. I get 10 to 12 hits on this setting. At that point abv is a golden or light brown. I then load that in a haze v3 dry herb can and run a session on heat 3. I'm getting so much from so little it is unreal.
So ur getting 20-22 hits per .15gram? Thats crazy lol

Pay no mind to those voices in my head
My firefly original crapped out on me this week. Now the conundrum. Do I spring for a new firefly to wait for them to fix my original? As some have suggested, perhaps they will send me a new one as a replacement. Wishful thinking.

@twigs My condolences. What exactly is wrong with it?

As I mentioned a few pages back, my FF2 had a heating element that stopped functioning while the LED seemed to work as usual. I sent it back and my unit was returned repaired in a little over a week. Be sure to call them for the RMA.

I have been placing the concentrate pad over amounts like this with great success. Maybe creates a conduction vape but it does not matter as i am going to fully spend this small amount. I get an even abv with about 3 long draws. Very medicated after.

Yes, I agree. I've tried that and I think it helps. I find it a little bit of a pain to get the pad out though. I've thought of making some kind of handle, like by sticking a piece of toothpick to make a handle. Also, those pads do increase draw resistance. I think a regular type screen dome would make a better solution for this. I need to experiment with this stuff.

I use a half inch pipe screen over the top of of my herb. It keeps the herb from sticking to the glass and I still get great hits from the FF2. Here is a pic of the screens I use:

When the screen gets dirty, I just dip in some iso to clean it. Also, I took out the filter in the mouthpiece and cut out a replacement from one of the screens above. I find that it works better than the filter that came with the FF2 since I was getting too much resistance from it.

The whips sounds like fun. Have you attached to anything with water yet?

I'm liking me some LS-LS-NSS-D (the long sloooooowwwww then less slow then not so slow draw). Especially on the first one.

I've used it with a water piece and it's definitely good, but most of the time I don't feel like it's necessary. When I do use water I usually take the first couple draws dry to preserve flavor and then use water after that when the when the heating chamber is hottest.

When attaching it to a water piece the draw is completely different than without. The draw resistance is quite light, you can get the same vapor production but you have to draw much faster. Once it's hot you can just take long draws as often as you want and get lots vapor until the overheat feature kicks in.

At this point the FF2 is producing more vapor than I can draw so as far as maxing it out, I am now the limiting factor.

I have been testing this for a week and now I have no doubts about it, if I left the battery in my ff2 it drains it no matter if I use it or not.

Sitting in Europe waiting and watching the videos over and over again I noticed a <Disconnect>-Button in the app.
Maybe pushing this shuts down the bluetooth-unit inside ff2 to stop sending signals and this saves power?
Do not know if you have done this.

Does anyone have a Crafty or Mighty here ? How does it compare next to a FF2 ? Is it worth upgrading from my Mighty to a FF2 ??

....I do ...rather different ...firefly more a solo operator...better taste...easier to clean...mighty /crafty more a "session" unit ...more solid build...like them all....a lot.

I do this too. I don't think that pad adds enough heat for conduction. Seems to raise the overall temp a bit, but if you aren't drawing, you really aren't cooking any weed via conductivity IME.

So after 2-3 months of daily use my mouthpiece has started to accumulate what seems to be dust. I keep the screen part clean, but the actual mouthpiece end is starting to look nasty. Unfortunately the FF2 site has listed it's mouthpieces as out of stock for quite a while (and I predict they will continue to be out of stock until they're able to deal with their popularity/shipments atm ). I've tried to clean out the dust with a toothpick and soap, but the dust seems to be "glued" to the inner part of the mouthpiece by sticky residue most likely left over time from the vapor. I'm pretty sure an iso bath will do the trick, but I was just wondering if any other long-time ff2 users (or any ff2 user) have come across this predicament.

I have been testing this for a week and now I have no doubts about it, if I left the battery in my ff2 it drains it no matter if I use it or not.

The other day I went for a trip and charged the unit the day before and put it in my backpack, most of the day I was using my Omnivap (love this little vape) so the ff2 wasn't used until we arrived home. It was really sad when I tried to hit it and after only 2 hits I discovered that in only 24 hours the battery was almost totally drained without me using it.

Right now battery is my biggest issue with this vaporizer. Battery life it's not as good as I would like, usually 1 bowl and a half if I get the ABV as dark as I like, sometimes 2 bowls if I'm lucky.

The battery meter is just a joke, never ever works so I never know when is gonna die. I have had the unit die in my hands without battery and then press the button to see how much battery remains and had the full battery blinking. After that I tried using it again and got the usual red no battery. It just don't work.

And even worse that all that, the battery drains without use in only 24 hours. That's something that never happened to me with any of my other vaporizers and I don't think it should happen.

So what should I do? Contact them? Or is this a known issue that can be fixed through a firmware update? I don't know, I'm starting to think about selling this unit if they not gonna fix the battery issues...

I am having the exact same problems. The battery meter is worthless and the battery drainage is unbelievable. I was just under the impression that all firefly products have inferior battery life, but if this is isolated to only a couple of units than that's a problem. If ff2 ever responds to your email keep us posted!

You're most likely gonna want both! The FF2 is better for solo or with a partner. The Mighty is better for group sessions. Whenever I vape with 3+ people, which is pretty often, it's the Mighty. Even when I vape with one partner who can match my tolerance, which is pretty high, it's the Mighty. But when I'm flying without a co-pilot, FF2 is my companion.

My FF2 method is no screen, always a pad on top to increase vapor production, 10 second draw starting slow and accelerating gradually on the intake.

Hey lazy potato

I have the same dust issue as you and have had the vape since May 1 but haven't done anything about it. Let me know if you do a successful ISO bath....
