Herb gardener...
Fair point. What about a small lithium back up battery and a software controlled emergency decent mode.

Team NO SLEEP!
Nice guess! RC models have been using a similar setup for years called FailSafe. Essentially, should one loose control over the model for any radio frequency reasons, the control surfaces and throttle will move to preset positions (typically either neutral controls or a slow spiraling decent with low or no throttle).

Several companies also sell some emergency packs that can kick in when your main flight batteries run too low. However this is rarely used today with all the telemetry available... one tends to know their battery is dying far before it becomes an issue. Most of us flying larger planes just regulate multiple rx packs at once, should any fail power redirects from one of the other available batteries. SmartFly is known for good equipment in this arena.

A metallic AnnaBis pouch for your cannabis. (Mark Leet/Mark Leet Photography)

The idea came to the two friends because “we are fashionable women of means” who cared that all the stuff in their lives – the shoes, handbags, clothes, sunglasses – properly reflected who they are. Their accessories spoke of their professional success and their grown-up sophistication. And it had become incredibly aggravating to have to pull out little plastic baggies and dig around for a crumpled package of rolling paper every time they wanted to smoke a joint. There had to be a better way.

And so, Jeanine Moss and Ann Shuch created what one might call: pot purses.

At a time when medical marijuana has gained acceptances in the majority of the country and recreational use is legal in four states and decriminalized in the District of Columbia, it was only a matter of time before pricey, fashion-oriented accessories followed. These handbags and clutches – under the AnnaBis brand name – have a dedicated place for everything, from pipes to eye drops and breath mints. The bags are lined with an odor-blocking resin used in food preparation and medical technology – to keep a lid on weed’s telltale aroma.

There is still a patent pending. It's not available now. Do we need these in the wrong hands?

Company Invents Gun That Looks Like a Cell Phone 1:09
A Minnesota company has invented a handgun that folds up to look just like a smartphone.

The .380-caliber pistol, called Ideal Conceal, will be available later this year and "will be virtually undetectable because it hides in plain sight," Ideal Conceal says on its website.

In locked position, the two-shot plastic gun with a metal core can be discreetly slipped into pockets, like a real phone. But "with one click of the safety it opens and is ready to fire," Ideal Conceal claims.

The creator, Kirk Kjellberg, told NBC News the idea came to him after he attracted attention for carrying a concealed weapon in a restaurant.

"A boy spotted me in the restaurant and said loudly, 'Mommy, Mommy, that guy's got a gun!' And then pretty much the whole restaurant stared at me," he said.

So Kjellberg, who calls himself a "serial inventor," decided to make a gun that wouldn't stand out so much. He says the Ideal Conceal is the same size as his Galaxy S7 phone with a protective case on it: About 3 inches by 5 inches.

 I figure most people would just stop carrying guns to restaurants, not get all weird and start making Transformer guns..

I bought two of these for Christmas presents. The funniest part was watching 5 or 6 grown folk surround a table playing with 'a cup' while all these really cool gifts sat unused.
Im waiting for mines to arrive im sure ill have a hell of a time just playing with it instead of drinking out of it lol

Anyone remember about 10 years ago when Phillips released a TV with ambient light shining from behind the TV?

Well there was a kickstarter for an aftermarket system to connect to ANY TV or monitor called "Lightpack"
Sadly this version requires a computer as the media source for the TV, which I don't use anymore (I have a Roku)

Now they're starting a new kickstarter for their next version - Lightpack 2 which has HDMI inputs!

I can't WAIT to get one of these, I've wanted something like this for a long time

For ambient lighting for TV's, this one is really the best if one wants to not alter the colors that are coming directly from the TV. I've used this one for years and it does two things. One is that it eliminates eyestrain and two, it actually helps to increase the contrast ratio which makes the picture actually look better than if there was no light at all while keeping the integrity of the broadcast intact.

Check it out. Kinda expensive but for an audio/video geek like me, it really made a difference:
