The butane lighter is with safety cover opens, which opens only when torch is press/on. The lighter is refilled from standard butane lighter canister. There is a flame-lock to keep the flame on and child-lock to prevent the ignition button from being pressed.

I don't get it, do I need to power on - remove - vape?

Very fortunate I was able to snatch this one up while it was still available :D

Beautiful! what kind of wood is that, and how did you know it was available? purchased directly from @vapman?
Yes, others will work just as well at making vapor and be reliable doing so. I've used and recommended these for years. 3 bucks each shipped, tough as nails, IMO 'fits the hand better':

I ordered 3 of these off your reccomendation about 2 weeks ago... about how long did they take to ship out to you?? i should've ordered like 10 of em'! so i wouldn't have to order again!!

IIRC it takes several weeks, and there's no notice, but we're talking free shipping on a sub 3 dollar thing. Hard to complain too much, really, if it gets here.

I've done just what you suggest, but a few at a time. I'd order a couple more with something else from that seller, or even order one or two from both at the same time like I did at first. If you've got a working one in your hand and a spare in the drawer in the kitchen most of the worry goes away.

Good luck on the wait, I'm sure you'll love them when you get them. And next time you're a few bucks ahead might even order a couple more for friends, and backup for your backup of course?

Regards to all as we ready to celebrate Independence Day! Hopefully, as time goes on, that will include the independence to decide for yourself to use cannabis or not for one and all citizens.

So dissapointed. can't find my torch :( its almost worse than running out of batteries... torch cost me 30$.
Yesterday i dropped it out my lap as i exited my vehicle. scuffed up the top and i thought 'damn, need to take care of this thing. its too precious to destroy'.... smh now today i can't find it... worst of all, no back up!!! grrrrrrr

Have used the silky oak, the pear basic, the pear classic, the walnut basic, the walnut classic and yew classic. Have purchased multiple units of each for gifts and gotten feedback.

Also, I've posted before for this same question ... and the answer is, my favorite and the one that I'd recommend is the walnut basic, and with the vapman lighter. You will get the burned wood on the inside, that gets burned quickly and then the charcoal color of that burn blends in nicely with the walnut. No swelling mica to worry about (if you have it for years, the mica slowly swells), it's cheaper. The unfinished walnut wears very well absorbing skin oils from handling, and building up a nice patina (as compared to the pear basic which takes on a dirty look after lots of handling).

Just can't go wrong with the walnut basic. It's a winner on many fronts.
I agree with all your points.

The Walnut Two-tone is my favorite :)

The Vapman is Ash Tree Wood and to mouthpiece is Jacaranda. I did purchase it directly from @vapman after seeing it was available on the Vapman Facebook page.
i'm just curious, but was the ash tree VM also shown on vapman.com? like how right now you can see he has limited edition yew tree vapmans at the moment? i'm just wondering because after going on facebook i can see the Ash tree VM picture, but it offers no information about it, no indication it was on sale. This info is vital to me as i'd hate to miss out when ebony vm's are available. thanks!

P.S. about my lost torch.... yesterday after work i wanted to use my VM but couldn't obviously without a torch. i looked at my Crafty, and instead of just loading it up, i drove around till i found a shit torch so VM and i could be as one. Its safe to say i enjoy VM more than crafty. The woody taste has disappeared and is only really evident when applying generous amounts of heat. otherwise VM has taken over 1st place in the flavour department. i can get consistent continuous first hit flavor for multiple draws. i love it. i can't reproduce the continued flavor with crafty.

i know instruction say 'only use a jet flame torch' but what would occur if i used a Bic lighter??

Don't try a Bic Lighter.

Don't use a three flame torch or one of those big-ass torches either.

You'll just ruin the vapman.

I've seen jet lighters everywhere. In a pinch, Walmart is selling a jet lighter/multi-tool dealio at the cash registers for a few bucks. It should work.

If you're in the US, I can get you a vapman lighter in your hands in a couple of days too. Just PM me and I'll give you a special price.

Peace.

A bic "might" work. I certainly haven't tried it but a bic flame is not directional, you would have to heat blind by heating the VM vertically and holding the flame under it. I predict lots of scorching.
I would't try this. Like M0j0 already said, it will ruin the VM. The normal bic-lighter can't bring that amount of heat in a short time, you have to heat too long (not good for the middle-piece) and it will give a lot of soot.

Hello,

Vapman on summer mode !!

Now I have also Haze which is very practical and good on the go but I realized even better how magical Vapman can be a champion on extract less material with better power on effects!!

The only tricky accessory after 2 years is the lighter. My last vapman lighter has a little problem. The plastic thing for setting the heat up and down is already in the end of his turn and set by default in the low producing heat. So I can't increase my flame. And I have many clicks that can't produce flame.

Can I manually fix it with screwdrivers and etc ?

If I follow what you're saying, you want the dial 'to turn further', that is move the stop? Yes, you can do that, gently pry the knob off the shaft, it's pressed over the brass body of the valve which has grooves knurled into it. Easy enough, just be careful to go straight up and down after rotating some?

Combusted lastnight in my Vapman :( A very sad night last night. I was getting greedy for big hits and the last torch did it and wow did it taste terrible! Is there a good way to clean the vapman from the combustion stench?

I think a lot of us have done this, it's not really fatal although you might think so at the time. No need to tell us it was the last heating that did it........by definition it always is......nobody gets a hit like that and asks for another.

Iso wipe downs for the pan, removing and 'flaming' the screen and half a dozen pipe cleaners did the mid section and a ISO soaked pipe cleaner did the MP for me. Most of the smell gone, the rest in a bowl or two.

IMO this is a very useful lesson, even if a mite unpleasant sometimes. It's good to know where the limit is, so it can be religiously avoided in the future?

Urgh i really need to find a Chilean torch lighter seller, I have been using mine for over a year, sometimes it works strange but i never had problems with it, but im starting to worry if it suddenly stops working on a session haha

@gkaraman Try to get that black plastic ring out of your lighter, it will allow you to increase the gas flow with a screwdriver. The plastic ring is only pushed on to the valve screw. By placing the plastic ring in a new position, you can use it as before.

Hope this helps!:)

@scottg402 Thank you for the pictures and the good news, it is much appreciated!

Great to see it all arrived safely and you had a successful inauguration.

I wish you much joy with vapman!

Kind regards to everyone!

I'm curious, how much resin/rosin did you put on the extract-screen?

I've had the station for a few days now. This thing has taught me patience. I get a nice little session on setting 2-2,5. And great for sharing. And my lighter game improved, I was being too aggressive before. So I downshifted kind of and feel like I am getting a better range now. I still love to be able to finish a bowl in 4 hits tho :science:

I've mentioned this before, but it may be good to repeat:

If (or when?) you combust, Do NOT draw on the mouthpiece - unless you didn't notice the smell before you inhaled.

If you do draw, stop as soon as you notice the horrible taste.

The crucible doesn't hold the bad taste but the wooden middle section does. - If you don't inhale, the middle section will not get contaminated...

You can usually smell the very strong and somewhat different smell before you draw, but you may be too medicated to notice, though. :ko:

If you do draw on it after combustion, clean the middle section with a cotton swab (Q-Top) dipped in Pure Acetone (Never use nail polish remover). If you wen to town drawing on the nasty smoke, you may have to dip the middle section in acetone for a few minutes, then wipe inside with cotton swab until clean and then let dry till next day.

But the key is to try Not to draw on the mouthpiece as soon as you notice combustion - if at all posible. If you don't draw, it's not a big deal at all.

Hope this helps!
