T-Shirts and stuff huh? How bout we get the actual GH out before adding to your plate GHL!

Jan '16 order now estimated for July. I won't hold my breath.
They actually still owe backers pledge gifts; T-shirts, cases and stickers specifically
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/grasshopper-vaporizer#/
So that is a priority they need to sort out stat IMO.

The new update is very much the same old :horse:

But new employees is a good sign that their commitment is as strong as ever (which is quite decent).

The waiting is so gruelling for this product.
But, as has been said over and over - it's closer than ever and worth holding out for.

I've been enjoying my hopper in stereo with my EQ over the last few days. A super fun combination. Gets the job done pronto :science:

My back end does get hot but only when using with a bubbler and by the 4th or 5th hit and that is the end of the battery..if i try another hit then while im hitting it my light will flash red and no vapor..and then dead battery..when i emailed hopper and sent it in they replaced the body but not backend so confusing but i may have old batts as they were used with the unit..so prolly gonna get new batts and try out..just keep gdtting new vapes and havent got batts yet.

That is normal, 18650s do the same. It also cuts off at 3.7v when GH shows it dead, which is actually a great level for storage since 18650s can go lower (but they also like a 3.7v ish cut off as well, really 3.5 min)

I wish the cutoff was a little lower at 3.6v These batteries drop down quickly from 4.2v and level off the longest at 3.7v. Might have gotten an extra bowl if they did this and it wouldn't harm the battery.

It's strange, I always charge my battery with an Xta VC2 and the low voltage info is not always consistent.
I don't know if it's related to bad battery or wrong check from the GH, but sometime I go well below 3,6V..
(Already mentionned in this forum but my backend is very hot in general)

@ElectropoK :
My backend does not get hot at all. When my batteries and Grasshopper were new they were almost always below 3.7 when I would charge them. Once I saw a battery as low as 3.53.

Now my batteries are almost always at 3.7 exactly when I charge them. Last night I thought I saw the dead battery light right after taking a hit and before shutting off. I turned it on again and it heated up to blue for a second or two before flashing red again. When I went to charge the battery it was 3.66.

I'm still getting 12-15 hits per battery which is 2-3 loads for me. This is mostly at temp 4, sometimes I bump it up to 5 to finish the load.

I'm having the exact same experience. Of the three parts of my GH, the back end is the one that does NOT get at all hot. I also am getting pretty much 3 full loads out of a battery and also seems to instantly go from blue to fast flashing red when I take a hit and the battery is low (what I'm trying to say is there ain't no warning when the battery goes but I'm OK with it as I have....wait for it...spare batteries! YEAH! LOL).

I also vape primarily just a hair over 4 but no longer push to 5...just not finding it necessary in order to get well extracted dark brown AVB.

I'm still loving it, love it via a water tool, and just keep making sacrifices to the gods that it keeps working this way.

Cheers

Is everyone getting there free promised extra battery with there hoppers ? I was told I would , I have a extra ordered and I believe it comes with 1 so I am hopping when my order ships I actually get 3. Figured I'd ask in preparation as I am a June preorder so I am hoping to receive mine this month.

I got mine did the same as you and received 3.

Side note for those who ordered multiple Ghs -- I believe it is per order and not per hopper ordered, but I can't remember from when this was previously discussed.

I should clarify that my back end does not get hot or even warm during normal use. Normal use for me is one hit at a time. Even if I leave it on for 2-3 hits at temp 4 the back end is cool.

I've had the back end get hot after multiple consecutive hits at temp 5 through water.

When it does get hot it is the last part to get hot, and it is being heated by conduction from the front end. The heater and chamber are always hotter than the back end.

I've heard people say if you hold it a certain way while hitting it can make the back end get hot. I'm rarely touching the back end while hitting it, perhaps that might cause it to heat up? Something to do with how there's no wires and the body is the circuit? I'm just speculating here...

when my battery is going low ... and before the flashing red lights my blue lights begin to flicker... indicating low battery ...

Three weeks strong with my Grasshopper, it's still working despite a hot backend. I get the rips I want when out and about, and then I like to finish the load at max temp in some glass. Sometimes I swear it's combusting, but it never does.

Agreed, I usually swap batteries when the blue lights begin flickering frequently during the hit (which happens pretty fast, but whatever, I've got 4 batteries)

In other news, I've just published a few Grasshopper accessories to my store. By special request - a mini loading funnel, 2-in-1 doob tube & GH funnel, and pyramid loading stand

Additionally, I finally finished my new External Charging Sleeve
IMG_7489__17959.1467817363.1280.1280.JPG

I designed these sleeves to help me easily install the batteries on the D2 Charger. I'm sure it doesn't matter, but I always found myself wasting time trying to center those small batteries on the charging posts. (Just be careful when unloading a battery - the spring-loaded negative post tends to shoot the battery out of the charger  )

Damn, my store's Grasshopper category is already filling up, and I've still got a few more in the pipeline :science:

I believe you're correct. I ordered two hoppers but got only one battery in addition to the ones I ordered.

ETA:

@Ratchett, that battery sleeve is a great idea! There is an annoying amount of slop in the D2 when trying to slap a battery in.

Well dang, Rachett - I just got my last order and here you are coming up with more stuff that I want. I actually really like the battery sleeves as I have the same issue in trying to center the batteries in external charger. I also just got your scoop and poke but love the four way tool and will get one for the home. Oh well, its only more shipping charges LOL

As for flickering blue lights...not sure I get them at all. Seems to go right to flickering red but perhaps I'm just not paying enough attention.

Can you provide a comparison of the dimensions of the regular and mini GH funnels? I keep my GH in a nice pen case with a doob tube, batteries, scoop/poke...but regular funnel is way too big. How small is the mini in comparison?

Thanks

Original Funnel: 39mm diameter by 35mm tall (1.53" dia x 1.37" tall)
Mini Funnel: 34mm diameter by 23mm tall (1.34" dia x 0.9" tall)

Let me know if you need smaller, I can always make a shorter one if necessary

Thanks...let me look at it a bit but yeah....height is the issue and if we could cut that down that may work. Let me look later and see what max height I could use and then see if that is doable.

Thanks and I still love Delta 3D and like entrepreneurs who are contributing so well to the growign complexity of the vaping ecosystem (yeah...that's mouthful, right!? HAHA)

My wife has a hot backend and its never been a problem for me.

That being said, I'm a little concerned that this GH I'm buying primarily because it looks like fun is going to be more trouble than its worth. I'm not sure I need it for its primary use case (super stealth.) I'm thinking just to wait for my omnivap and then consider something like a cloud evo or zion, if I still want some massive direct-draw convection clouds and for adapting with glass.

Either way, I e-mailed over a week ago about canceling/refunding and haven't heard back. Is there a process I'm missing? Maybe I should just send the request through PayPal?

Well, I'm not going to try to talk you out of it...I sure have mixed feelings; I love my GH but am not very enamored with Hopper Labs and their delivery and manf quality.

I did just want to point out that stealth isn't important to me either. My primary use case is for a quick couple of hits without muss, fuss, or waiting for heat up. In that light, does the GH still appeal to you?

yes, though, I feel like I have that covered enough with the FF2. I find the GH appealing in general. It's dope. I'm just worried about its baggage.

Well....I am interested in hearing about your wife's hot back end! I'm sure that "is not a problem" for you...and congratulations! My wife's rear end is pretty nice as well :)

I dunno...I've had my GH for 3 or 4 weeks and it is freaking awesome. I am sure sorry to hear about the many many that seem to be having issues with their Hoppers....but I sure do love mine.

My SS just took a shit. No response when I turn it on, except for an occasional quick series of red flashes. Tried two different batteries that show as 80% on the D2 and get the same results. Bummer.
