Goddamn right @HD Springer. I believe that critical discussion is essential to the value of the forum. However, folks getting stressed and arguing and bitching at each other online are doing it wrong, for fucks sake. Where is @ataxian when we need him to remind us what we are all supposed to be doing here?

And just so this post is relevant, my Mi runs a bit cool I think but absolutely zero issues so far. Got one of the April shipments without recessed glass (clear glue, no intake screen). It just works. And no funny smells anywhere... My favorite way to use it is inverted with OGB's M2M + a j-hook. I stir often, but don't really mind. Not grinding anything these days in practically any vape, just drop in whole chunks and break it up with a poker after a few draws. Mi continues to defend its spot in my rotation:science:

@Bravesst I think @bounce5 was asking about clarifications about the woods virginity since you proclaimed it, hardly seen it as criticizing?

Anyhow my new Milaana (less than a week old) has a loose female...I think they should have stuck with the ugly white glue!

Milaana #1 is still kicking, so it's all good, but I was digging the faster heater and will miss it if it goes!

Does gluing it yourself put the heater or function at risk at all???

Only a risk depending on your self confidence. I would send it in for proper materials and construction myself. Sucks though, might be the first recessed one to come undone? Good luck bro, at least you do have two now! Agreed the faster heater is really nice though

Mi 3 arrived today from PV, ordered Mon. Pebbles (m1) is spare parts, BamBam (m2) is kicking ass, m3 needs a name. Finish is best yet, smooth, uniform, recessed, I can see white epoxy, all neat, screen over intake perfectly in place. Awesome looking piece of wood.
I am not planning to rotate just yet, as I haven't given up on Pebbles, more advice, research, repair called for, and Pebbles and BamBam will tag team, while Mi Precious sits on her shelf, all pretty. I want to give her a dark tone, lots of research to get a coffee or chocolate kinda nano effect.

In the meantime, the new PV stems arrived and I'm testing today.

Thanks for posting the awesome pics of our new PVFS (PlanetVape Flavor Savor) Milaana and Zion stems Bravesst. We have been getting a lot of inquiries and will be releasing them soon. We are going with the shorter design to give the heated air more room to expand before hitting the wide basket screen. No worries of the stainless rim touching the Milaanas heater screen as it is way too far away, lots of posts about that. Hope you enjoy.

I was comparing the SV3 and Sticky Brick? Not the SV3 vs the Milaana?:hmm:
Show me.
Heat is not heat.
Didn't say it couldn't milk. Didn't say it didnt have power. Said it could not out milk a desktop.
My 'dank' is fine. Funny you mention that because your defending a opinion of somebody who vapes with seeds and stems in their material.
My 'technique' is fine. Thanks for your suggestions tho.

I stand by my opinion. Seeing is how I have logs and other desktops to compare it to and defend my opinion.

Edit: I'm not trying to put down the Milaana, I was merely saying it doesn't milk glass like a desktop.
Owned plenty of desktops, including the herbalizer. I'm
Not a jerk at all, rather a very friendly guy but this Mi shits all over my other desktops. Massive massive clouds.

One huge mother-fucking stem for two very different vapes.....with the heat source as the only variable ......so I would be a horrible source to ask for any comparisons.....lol

Great for direct draw cool hits but can also make you cough your lungs out too if you are not careful since the same setup is also great for water.

See more commentary about it on the Apollo thread if you like......as I don't want to essentially cross-post.

Note: A short Apollo tube is required to form the connection point for the two RBT stems in this mod

tl;dr version of "commentary" from Apollo thread......no comparisons to see here .....;) :D :2c: :peace:

Milaana quicker ......but less powerful and precise than a warmed-up Apollo.....but both great vapes that everyone needs in their arsenal as they fit a totally different niche/style of vaping

Any chance we can get caps for those basket screens? They'd be like mini ELB's at that point. Would be super convenient for loading on the go.

You could probably just nest a 2nd Arizer screen over top the one with your herb in it to use as a cap......or, if you are doing micro-doses with a thin layer across the bottom of the EQ basket screen - the 2nd EQ screen could nest on top of the first and STILL fit within the same volume footprint of a regular 19/22 Milaana stem.

But you should probably sit it beside a regular 19mm RBT joint just to check to see that the combination of the PV 19mm stem and the 2 stacked Arizer basket screens are the same length (or less) than the regular 19mm RBT stem joint.

Maybe pre-load a bunch of micro-dosages this way?

Small loads nested between 2 Arizer basket screens. Then just pop them in and out of two alternating PV stems (so one is always cool to handle) as required for very short "hit it and quit it" kind of sessions.

Probably a waste of battery power to operate in this manner......but not a problem if you have a lot of 18650 cells to cycle through.

Edit:
Oh yeah.....about 9 seconds on the button for me to see the dull red glow of the heater in a darkened room....at least where it's noticeable - as the red glow starts from total darkness and at first isn't noticeable and then doesn't ever get more intense very quickly after first visibility.

Last Edit of the Night:
Damn .....first combustion event on the 6th bowl (total).....had LGHB4's in (mustard colored) and pulled too long with crap herb, (i.e., dry, low resin - aka mild, sleepytime crap) through glass and saw the smoke start up.

Didn't inhale any.....but sure stunk things up.....small combustion discolouration on the new heater screen and smell when drawn through. Have to do a few burnoffs....or cook a few bowls to dissipate that crap smell now.

Ah well, that was a learning experience for sure :o :)
Not sure if I like those too much :\

Calm Consistency
If those stems are anything like regular 18mm glass, @Ratchett 's Delta3DStudios sells 18mm caps that should fit.

I'm a tad worried my new Milaana will have an issue with loose glass simply because the stems and M2M fit tighter than my other Milaana. I imagine that adds a tad more pressure pulling out (no pun intended), which may have a later issue in 9 months (heh). Hopefully not! But maybe the glass is more susceptible to cracking based off the fitting.

if glass isn't cracked and comes unglued, I see the biggest problem is taking the glass tube out without disturbing the heater screen, like I did on Mi #1, which now has to go in for a total overhaul, instead of just new glass.

Make sure you remove the tube very carefully to leave the screen, mica set up intact. As far as reglue, even though it's forbidden to say the "g" word. I wound up using marine putty epoxy rated at 300 degrees. I removed and reglued at least 5X, so I got some practice. I also tried the recommended Devcon, but it runs. The putty is white, and can be applied very accurately, once pressed into place, you can scrape of excess very easily. Keep up around rim, and away from vapor path hole.

If i replace it myself...I'm sure I will be smoking Hella glue...lol

I don't trust myself that much, but mainly it's because I don't want to damage the heater since it kicks the first Mi's ass!

Do I need to wait on Ryan's nod, or do I just send it back??? (Very sad indeed)

I think the newer unit did have more stem lock instances which may be some of the cause.

So I took the advice of @HD Springer and put it in the freezer...

Shit worked stem came right out...shits gold.

Just so Dab HAppy!
I have noticed keeping the AC at high when riding up front in a vehicle and using the Mi helps a lot with eliminating much of the joint friction. With water tools I lift the Mi slightly to make sure there is no friction. I use my Milaana 3-4 times a day dry (2-3 stems per session) and 2-3 times a day with water. I figure I am running about 3-4 grams through it a day. I am hoping these simple tricks will help me keep from having breakage issues.

I did go ahead and purchase a second Milaana back in May which I received last Friday before the Holiday. I must agree it seems to run hotter just as others have mentioned. It's seemed really great for concentrates and as you previously saw it delivers milk with just dry herb really quite easily.

I find my technique regularly changing and refining with my Mi. A pre-heat of 5-10 seconds to get the Mi warmed up before pressing the button for my first draw has been very helpful for getting evenly cooked loads more easily. Letting go once per long draw in the middle also helps. My heating method is based on heat feedback in the stem or visible vapour being produced in a bubbler. I don't really count after I preheat, I don't really count on the pre-heat actually. My draw starts slow to build up the heat and then slowly increases but never gets very strong.

My Mi is in the category of a "slower" heater. I am hoping my backup will be one of the faster tuned heaters, just for the sake of comparison. I don't know which one I'd prefer until I try them both. I know that I am capable with my Mi to go from anything between a low-temp session with no visible vapour up to a white-walled lung buster and anything in between.

The one thing that I would do differently is the batteries. I have four batteries that I cycle through (2x25r, 1xhe4, 1xhg2). I would definitely get three HG2s and that would be plenty for me.

Do I need to wait on Ryan's nod, or do I just send it back??? (Very sad indeed)
Just send it in, waiting for Ryan would be an unnecessary step that would just add time to your wait. Once you send it in, just fill out their form online with your tracking number. They'll get it. The company name might have changed from previously, but it is the same address that it is being sent to, so I'm guessing it is just the other company that changed names.

Milaana feedback, I get some issues to master the learning curve cause this one change after each bowl on the same battery, sometimes I get blank hits and sometimes I'm on the combustion edges...

Although it can be very nice too when I get the right timing!

Somebody need to work on a unbreakable stem too....

When you pack a stem, face it towards the light and see if you can see lots of light specks shining through...if so...tamp it or stir it, to eliminate all of the light that you can.

Also once you figure out how long it takes your coil to start glowing (usually between 7 and 10 seconds)

Get your coil to the glowing point, drop your stem in and immediately press the button again and start drawing, it will make the temp climb much faster.

Thanks for the tips!

Here a pic of a Sunday to the river under the milaana's sun!

It takes mine about 15 seconds for the coil to start glowing on a fresh battery. I have an older unit, non-recessed glass and mesh screen. Starting to think it might be a bit underpowered.

That is a little long compared to my old mi, which takes about 10-12 senconds...new one is 5-7.

But keep in mind we might have different interpretations of 'glowing'

well, I guess I jinxed myself. I was just doing the test in a dark room to see how long it took my heater to glow... as it started to glow, it started to smell (strongly), sorta like burning wax. now every time it heats up, the smell returns. it's not subtle, there's no way I'd try to hit it at this point.

there's no way anything got past the screen, I have the SS mesh ribbon stuffed underneath a fine SS screen that I installed myself. I never remove the screen, never used cotton or hemp as an intake filter. I installed the screen shortly after I received the unit in late April, and it's worked really reliably the entire time with no smell until just now.

going to send it back to RBT for repair. oh well, that's what a warranty is for. that's also what having multiple excellent vapes is for.

not really that upset or even surprised given the fact that it's a new product and I got an early unit, just thought I owed you all an update given my recent enthusiasm. will report back when I have something to report
