Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

What's the best way to address the whistling?
I saw a post mentioning medical gauze over the bottom of the 'bamboo being a solution.
How do you keep it in place? I'd like to stop the whistling for good.

Concerning the whistle. The whistle is formed at the last pinch point in the bamboo. If you could see it, it would look like a high pressure, vibrating doughnut right where the ELB is. There is no doubt that it helps scrub actives out of your medicine. That's why some report better hits on, or right before, the whistle. It may drive you crazy but there is a method to its madness.

Why is a Stradivarius violin better? People didn't understand until they put saw dust on the body, vibrated it, and saw the patterns form. This, imho, is along those lines.

Hey guys what's the final word on international 220v units? On the cloud evo site I'm only seeing a 110V version and it now says not to use it with a power converter or inverter. Looking back at posts in this thread from 2014, the EVO rep is saying to use the 110V version with a 300W power adapter. I've read stories of old units overheating but it sounds like a new firmware has come out to address this?

I can still get a 220V version from a local shop overseas but I would rather buy the 110v here in the States because it's cheaper and I only intend to be overseas for approx another 1yr, and I'd like to have the 110V to use back when come back home.

What are people using at the moment overseas? Thanks

PS: i currently use a 220v volcano but that thing hits too hard, been cutting back and the cloud evo has the ability to pack smaller loads with potent extraction. Seems like the "minimum" bowl size on the volcano is still too big and I'm not getting as much extraction as I did when I had a cloud evo that I sold when I moved. I might also look into these new mini volcano bowls that came out.

Thanks

Who exactly is this? Seibo Shen has repeatably said, FROM THE BEGINNING, do not use converters/inverters with this unit because it could be dangerous. And some trying this have had problems. Thats why they made an international version in the first place. Its electronics are quite different from US EVO and it took a while to get it right. If you choose to pursue this course do it at your own risk.

Finally got it. It's actually quite thick, or at least thicker than expected. I'd say that for $50 it's a killer deal. I feel like it could definitely compete with my real Hydrabomb, but probably not with the legitimate $400-500 Symbiartic. It's less smooth. I'd recommend Steven's if you've already got a Hydratube and want to try something new (but maybe not to the tune of $400-500). It works awesome. Support the American company if you can, though.

Edit: Only (minor) issues were that it wiggles a little bit, proportions might be off, and it's not as smooth a draw. Still quite decent, few people would notice.

Got this tiny little crack in one of my nails while cleaning. Is it still safe to use or trash?

Interesting...

My INT EVO, who's probably from the first batch (cooler EVO) doesn't have any whistles ...
My friend's newer INT EVO (Hotter EVO) does whistle...

So all in all, the new one will give me better results ???

How high can you crank it up? is 3'oclock the maximum for vaporizing or can you go higher?
thanks,

With mine it depends how long it's been on for.
I can hit it on max when first turned on (and lit green) with successive hits needing the dial to be turned down.

I found that after heatsoaking for a couple of hours, the highest I can run it is about 1:30, any higher and it will combust

That whole thing about different vapes having different sigs is quite a real and drastic thing isn't it?

I had been noticing I was not getting blitzed the same way I was as before, on the xhale, and took my sisters flowermate to the cinema and used it in the front where no one was sitting, and i got super baked. Was pretty sweet actually.

Must say the fm is pretty damned efficient. I guess because each draw was getting me more stoned because of the new signature it felt even more efficient. But the thing did seem to keep going and going.

How long do you guys leave your elbs in a bowl of iso for?

Just ordered mine! Any beginner tips for newbs? I got it with the honeycomb HT.
Congrats , I'd say do a 10 minute burn off with nothing it to just get rid of any residual oils that may be on there from the factory and enjoy. Don't pack the elbs full , try 50% and start around 12 on the dial.

What do people consider a filled ELB ? I think we generally agree on loose packing, but when you guys say 70% full or whatever, do you take into account the volume the ELB looses with the cap on it ? Because the cap easily takes away another 20% of the full volume the chamber has. So what one might consider 70% with the cap on, would be just 50% without it.

I measure with the cap on.

In theory it should, however, will the results be measurable? That is the question. The bamboo does a great job no matter what. I never altered mine to remove the whistle and see if there was any noticeable difference however my theory makes sense. A vibrating high/low pressure zone should extract better than just free flowing air imho.

I fill so there is enough room with the cap on to give a little shake in-between every few hits . I am not measuring it but I usually leave some space between my flower and the cap when it is on.

I fill my ELB's with a gold digger skilletool from PIU. It is perfect for scooping dry herb, I just scoop herb in, tapping the elb on the table so the herb doesn't stick on the sides and falls down, and just do it until there is room for like 1-3 more scoops so like 75-80% of the non capped elb. This gives me a huge session, 6-8 hits at 12-1:30 on the dial.

Interesting!
Well, since on my "old" EVO the bamboo needs a repair, I guess they will change it to a whistling bamboo?

thank you!

I'd say start at 10 on the dial.
I mean, I have an older EVO that is colder and with him, I did 12, but the new one is hotter and I prefer 10.

When I heat up the ISO by submerging a bag containing the ELB's and ISO into near boiling water, they're back to new in just a few minutes.

Isn't that dangerous? Alcohol and heat?

Took one elb out of a bowl of iso and salt 6 hours later, and much cleaner but still quite a bit of stuff on it. And left the other one in overnight, will look in on it, but last I looked, along with the elb I took out, seemed like they were not really getting cleaned past a certain point. Thought it would be much faster.

I put enough iso to cover the elbs, do I need to put far more? Is this why it is not cleaning that well? How long until it is like new?
