The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

The general rule with these li-ions is to keep them between 40-80%, too little battery or too much stresses the cells and causes it to heat up adding to reduced battery life...
What I try to do it throw it on the charger when I hit 2-3 bars and I try to pull it off before the last bar starts blinking...but that's hard to do lol.

Still remember these aren't the crap Chinese 18650s...all german with sensors hardwired in.

Anyone else use timers when charging? I use these "countdown" timers. The one on right has better time choices.

May have benefits. Can't hurt. Trying not to flunk out @OF battery university (without building his smart box) Bonus: Timers automatically obey S&B's charging instructions in manual -- first attach to vape, then plug into mains.

I use Crafty. Frequent charging, so those countdown timers pictured above are quick to press and set.
Bet there are several OCD inclined Mighty users nightly charging with an interval style timer, on at 2AM and off at 3 or 4AM.

Dang I didn't think the coffin ones would fit it...I was looking at the vatra fly xo bag in all black with orange accents (just like mighty:D). It was 7×5" so it should have room to spare but I know all these bags have a ton of padding in them not leaving a whole Lotta room.

I belive I asked Randy at PIU and he said the Mighty will not fit the Vatra fly bag. He might have the smaller version though it sure. Also the urban mini (arizer solo case on PIU website) looks like it might be an option

The coffin does fit the mighty nice though for a light padded case

Yeah the 7" one. the plastic clip is the only thing I don't like mine snapped right away.put my mighty in that and throw it in my pack. It will only fit the Mighty itself without charger or any extras.

Either that one or the 7" Domino case for a bit bulkier case with more storage options.
Yeah the clips looks a little cheesy but the rest look soild definitely guna be picking one up

That's not a sign of battery degradation. My month old mighty does the same and did on day one. It takes a little longer to reach temp with a half drained battery....haven't used mighty all week:cry:...these dang wax pens just so dang convenient and effective....
Yes, mine's always taken longer to heat up when batteries are lower state of charge than when full. My worry is that heat up time is even longer than it used to be at those lower states. I hope I'm incorrect. It does still act like new when batts are full.

Just tested with my 7" dime bag and it fits perfectly. No room for the loading tool, but cleaning brush will fit in the pockets

The new housing CAN Crack as well...as long as continually heated plastic is their choice of building material to hold the device together...I imagine this will be an issue.

Now it might extend the life a little of make it marginally more secure.

Hi thought i would let you all know, seems like Storz and Bickel are no longer guaranteeing the casings on mighty's against cracking, mine is the updated version and has cracked int he same place as the old version did, not been dropped, 6 months old and unmarked

they replied "Defects on the housing are generally due to improper use or wear and are not covered by our warranty for this reason.

We can offer you a repair service for EUR 69,00 which includes:"

i guess they have has so many break they wont repair or replace anymore, which seems crazy as they replaced a friend of mines crafty and mighty which were in his pocket when he fell in a river.

i will update if i hear anything different

And I bet half the people requesting new units had dropped or damaged the unit themselves. I've read posts here where people have done that and been given FOC replacements.

This in turn screws things up for the people with genuine faulty units.

Sucks!
So, what does the 69 Euro include? I guess it does not include batteries! Add that in and you may as well buy a new Mighty - or a different vape. The second option apparently has not been fully considered by S&B in making this policy decision.
I hope you have or will be sending a letter of protest. We have often seen them able to listen to reason in the past, especially German office has good record for service. Regardless of rules and policy, there is always discretion and a choice to be made on their part.
best of luck.

This makes me very nervous. Had my mighty for nearly a year. I have cracked fins, rattling inside and generally a weak body.when I press the unit together there is a clicking noise. It still works flawlessly. But now I'm thinking will I need to pay for a new case? Then a few months need to pay for new batteries? This isn't what I was expecting from a 2 yr warranty.

just mailed them to see if the rattle is covered, as i tested mine and it rattles as well, will let you know what they reply, if they reply at all

thanks!
fingers crossed for a reply!
they can take a while......

here's there reply

Dear Mr. Weir,

we understand how frustrating it must be to know that such an obvious case of "non warranty" got replaced free of charge while your own case with a much lesser degree of damage demands payment. We assure you that the way your friend was treated was an exception - and most likely something that was overlooked , since it is not our policy to replace outright and evidently damaged devices.

The warranty is subject to proper use and storage of the products and does not include any defects due to normal wear and tear or deterioration, including, but not limited to, defects on screens, air filters, balloon material and valve balloons.

Defects on the housing are generally due to improper use or wear and are not covered by our warranty for this reason. We certainly do not want to accuse you of dropping or abusing your device in any way, we are just stating that generally the damages we receive and encounter with the housings are due to improper use or deterioration. Since we have no way of truly knowing how the individual customer has treated his device, we avert to warranting such cases.

Since we do care about the satisfaction of our customers, we want to offer you a brand new device for the price that should have been for a repair service.

If this is something that works out for you, please send 69,00 € to our PayPal account info@storz-bickel.com . Your new device is going to get shipped out once we are able to trace the payment.

With kind regards,

Technical Support

Thanks for posting that bobknocker.
So they are offering you a new mighty for 69 euros?
I guess that isn't so bad for a new unit considering how much it costs for a new one.
It's still a shame to have to fork out for something that maybe should be covered by warranty.

it rattles and is cracked but it still works so i am going to save the £60 and maybe put it towards a firefly2, i figure as the mighty has almost 18 months warrentee left there is a fair chance something else might break in that time anyway then they will have to replace it for free

This is the discretion I referred to earlier; a human being is trying to work with you despite rules.

I think they've made a reasonable offer and if it were me I'd take a new Mighty with 18 month warranty remaining in a heartbeat. You may feel under-appreciated at the moment, but you'd be surprised how easily all is forgiven the day the new unit arrives!
Others in the past have been told when having sent in that some things will be repaired under warranty while they'd have to pay for some other things, all as part of the same service. I believe you will be on thin ice at that point, since of course they'll have a record of this interaction. just my 2 cents. ;)
