Discontinued Utopia Desktop Herbal & Oil Vaporizer

I want to point out that I have officially abandoned the idea of powering the Odyssey with a Core.

It is possible to make a vaporizer that can be powered with the Core but the current Odyssey and Utopia can not as it is a all glass chamber.

So moving on to round two of testing it is now between 100 watt heater and 150 watt heater.

And the Key word is equilibrium.

@THC SCIENTIFIC Disappointing. Will there be any use for the core in the future lineup or will I have to find another persei top for it once I trade in my v4 for the box mod?

there might be a use for the core, but for now we are dedicated to the glass version of our desktops.

@DieHard will get his new heater shipped to him end of this week so he can start with the testing.

So just to be clear, there will be no use for the core once I upgrade my persei to the v6. Correct?

I thought i had answered this but i guess not. I have not given up on the Core just yet. Once i finalize the heater for the Odyssey im going to revisit the Core being a power supply.

@THC SCIENTIFIC How is that new heater working out? Looking forward to trying it with the new heater.

The new heaters are working great. Small flaws we are trying to fix once done i will send the 100 watt version for you to test. I think it should be end of this week.

Also want to report on the oil attachment, i think we got that fixed but next prototype bowl will confirm this.

Testing on the 100w heater went down in a big way yesterday with myself and @Melting Pot. We really put it through its paces with many different configurations and had stellar results. This heater is MUCH more controllable. We were able to set it and forget it once we figured the ideal dial setting. No runaway heat this time. With the help of my Fluke meter we determined that right about 29V was our sweet spot. A full session of testing with zero combustion. The limits were definately pushed, but no flowers were combusted in this test. We also did side by side comparison with the Versa, and Supreme3 (just to have a torch vape as a control). The Versa is a heavy hitter, no doubt, but the Odyssey has a less restrictive draw. We even tried the Odyssey with the Versa bowl with great results. We also tried the Odyssey dry with the Vapor Tower bowl and L-gourd attachment. This was AMAZING! The Odyssey gets hot but the side handle stays cool the whole time. I can't wat for the oil attachment!

@DieHard I think by accident you have the 150w heater I just checked and I still have the 100 watt heater here. But good to hear you are up and running.

So I have 2 of the same? They definately look different. The one we used yesterday rings out to 82.5 ohms, and the one that I had already rings out to 36.4 ohms.

You have one that's 150 watts at 50v which means at 25% power your running somewhere around 80 watts

Then the new one which is 150 watts at 110v which means running at 29v = around 40-50 watts.

The 100 watt heater at 29v will put out somewhere around 30 watts.

What this means is for the 100w heater you would run it around 40v to be the same as the 150w at 29v.

Hope this makes sense as number are not dead on but in range.

For production I think the 100 watts should be good since being in the middle of the dial to get no combustion is good and it gives us both the bottom end and the top end to work with.

Ahh I totally forgot that the first one was 150W at 50v. Regardless this heater is MUCH more controllable in this configuration.

It should be since the first one was only able to be used on the low end of the controller and that was to much heat once it was hot.

The production version 100watts should be even more controllable.

Can you do a milk shot and spend bowl image to see how it's working?

So I have been super busy and have not had the chance to take pictures or videos with the Odyssey. I have been tirelessly, and quietly testing this bad boy quite a bit. I am using it this weekend and then it will make its way to @SamuraiSam for further testing. I have really enjoyed this vape. I have to say that I have not used my EVO since having the Odyssey, except to compare the two. I prefer the bowl size and configuration over basket screens by far. I enjoy a larger bowl because I am into flavor. I find the flavor to be superior when using larger loads. IMO the potential for flavor is directly proportional to size of the load. There can only be SO MUCH flavor containing terpenes in a micro load. Another huge plus with the Odyssey is the wide-open airflow. If you rip it hard, you will be rewarded with a somewhat familiar whistle. With this latest heater, it has been very stable at the desired temperature. This heater also allows much better control for fine adjustments to allow temp stepping. Once it becomes heat soaked you will need a short time for the temp to stabilize when changing the setting. I have had several combustion events while trying to find the sweet spot for me on the dial. It is definately possible to extract MOST of the goodness from a load in one draw when You get it just right ( and my lungs would allow it). I did not have real success using concentrates with the oil attachment. It seems like the heater needs to be turned up too high to get vapor in one draw. In the video you will see the ABV at the end laid out on a tissue. There is 0% combustion. I got 2 draws from that load. They were a bit hot but the point was to show how efficiently the Odyssey can extract a large load in 2 draws. The second one was off camera because I thought I might have been close to combustion. Then I dumped the ABV. No ash. Just evenly extracted.
It is gonna be really hard to give this one up! I can't wait to see what's' next. Thank you @THC SCIENTIFIC for the opportunity to Beta test this awesome vape.

From what little I can see of the vape in your video, it reminds me of my Versa Infinity.

versabowl.jpg

We have been working on a desk top for years now and like our other vaporizers it goes through many revisions. The time that Versa came out we went back and decided to change our heater so as it does not look like a copy, not only that we from the start wanted to make a vaporizer that is fully all glass air path and all glass vapor path, at the same time have one attachment that does oils and herbs. In theory it might act like a Versa but few things set it apart.

1 being is the ability to change heaters in 10 seconds or less.

2 would be heater type

3 would be all glass nothing but glass from start to finish

Hope this helps.

We have a new oil attachment that will be sent to @SamuraiSam soon for testing the oil capabilities.

If it works we are close to initial release of 100 units as the only thing left is the controller which we are thinking of doing something that's already manufactured to cut costs.
