ROOR (Herborizer) vaporizer

If that is the case you should be able to use a 18f/18m GonG like mine but get it with a 10mm carb & plug. It will just add 1.5" to the height of the unit :2c: :peace:.

gH8OunB.jpg

That will work well!
The rig is already 18 1/2 inches tall, so what's another 1 1/2!

Nice bubbler!!

This is what made me think of your conundrum. Call it a volumetrics issue if you will but I see similarity with clearing....

Awesome WT!! Is that a Sheldon Black?
Looks to be pretty voluminous!

Thinking further about it i may hit up OGB and see if he can make me a new shorter bowl, maybe a smaller volume bowl with a carb. That might be perfect!

So far i am liking the screen on top of the indents more than below the indents.
I found a thick fine mesh screen and bent the corners at a 45 degree angle and it sits nice and stable now! No tipping!
Effects are a lot stronger, vapor is denser and the ABV comes out a nice tan color.
I am using about 8 1/2 on the dial which is around 205C.

As always taste and flavor is on point!
I am learning to wait for the finer things in life now! The 10 minute heat up is well worth the wait!
Two bowls and i am medicated and satisfied! Each hit was perfect on each bowl!
I like it!

Once up to heat this beast just continues to rip, bowl after bowl!
I only cough at the hottest setting of 230C which is pretty impressive for myself!

Huge props to @lazylathe for allowing me the opportunity to hit the Roor/Herborizer last night! Wow, my mind was completely blown in many ways and now even though I thought my VAS was in check, it is now my #1 on the radar! Pricey, but more connoisseur than anything else i've ever owned I think! Convection without any harshness or heat! Bliss!

This thread really should merge with the main Herborizer thread to avoid confusion I think. This exact rig can be purchased on herborizer.com for approximately $600 CDN if i'm not mistaken. Shame the thread is such a ghost town!

IMHO, the Herborizer is the most underrated vape of them all! The French have this one! Sebastien is the man! Pretty awesome that the main distributor for Herborizer in Canada is in St Catharines! Higher Society Glass!

Honestly it's a steal...the glass isn't cheap and alot of the cost is in the actual glass. You can get the XL kit (injector, bowl, controller) for around $400 I believe. These are made by Sebastien hand blown in a little atelier in Montpellier, France. No mass production corporation here.

The Roor kit is pricier due to the Roor glass, but from what I can tell - there is no difference between the Roor kit and the Herborizer Bubbler from what I can see? Paying more for the Roor name perhaps? Or maybe the glass is thicker?

Either way, IMHO this vape is worth its price. Check out the MiniVAP thread, that thread literally almost DIED due to its cost, and then all of a sudden BAM, a few forum members picked them up, liked them, and it's been a cult following for many ever since. I even remember forum mods bashing the price of the MV!

I used to own the sphere (not the XL), and holding that thing was like having a martini glass in your hand...awesome! If I pick up this vape my OCD (and GAS) tendencies will force me to buy the sphere, tube, AND bubbler! I had this issue with the Vriptech and all the glass they sell...only I wasn't a huge fan of their glass tools.

With tonight's session i decided to weigh my load, just for the hell of it!

With the screen below the dimples i used about 0,1g to get decent results.
With the screen on top of the dimples i am using 0,06g for awesome results.
I keep the temp around 8,5 to 9 on the dial and always heat soak everything before taking a hit.

I love using it with the RooR tube as i find it to be perfect!
Almost zero drag and the crazy mouth piece allows you to watch the vapor build!
I have mastered the art of raising the heater from the bowl with one hand as well to clear the WT!
A cap is on constantly over the larger top hole, air only enters in from the side where the heater wires exit.
I usually stir after the first 5 or so hits and then tamp down a bit and continue!

I love that a gentle pull will yield light, super tasty vapor!
A strong pull yields thick, delicious vapor that hits like a hammer!

It's funny how this vape has taken center stage and become my daily driver!
A year ago i was ranting about waiting for vapes to heat up! I WANT IT HOT NOW!!! LMAO!!!
Now the 15 minute pre-heat is a nice ritual and calming down time.
Turn on, clean WT, clean bowl, choose herb and grind, load bowl and place heater on and sit back and relax for a few!
Check temp of bowl close to herb, when hot the time has come!
Two bowls later and i am medicated of 0,1g! This is very good for me!
And i find the medicated state lasts a lot longer as well.
I am only vaping twice a night now versus every hour...

Very happy i decided to take a chance on resurrecting this beauty!

How could you compare it to the Vrip you sold me?

I'm feeling a bit ashamed but I live at 1h30 of Herborizer manufacturer and never tested/bought one....my next goal is to support my own country vaporizers!

I have not compared it to the Vrip once... Confusing me with someone else who mentioned the Vrip earlier.
And even if I wanted to compare the two of them, who cares?? This is not Lord of the Vapes, where one rules them all. Lol!
It is also an all glass vape except for the stainless steel screen and heater.
And costs 3 times as much as a Vrip.

A huge plus is zero hot spots since the air is swirled around you chamber and contacts nearly the whole load evenly.

This vape has been around a long time and is mostly overlooked for newer, shinier technology.
The RooR and Herborizer are basically the same vape with different logos and different glass. The heat injectors are exactly the same.

I only want to know differences in term of taste and thickness of the vapor....I ask that cause i heard it produces (the herbo) airies hits.

I never spoke about one to rule them all, I only want to know your experience...

Heat up time is more on the RooR, about 15 to 20 minutes but then you are good to go for as long as you need.
You need to hear the injector and the bowl together at first and then add your herb, this produces excellent hits very quickly.
I have also blocked off the large hole on top of the injector to reduce the airiness of the hits.
Taste is better for me but it has been a while since I used the Vrip so this is subjective.
Density of the clouds is about the same, all depends on how good your material is. I have no problem pulling huge clouds off all my herb, some of my other vapes struggle with certain strains and vapor production, not the RooR though.
Most important for me is the effects! Way stronger and more potent than any of my other vapes and longer lasting as well! I am using 0,05g per load and get about 5 huge clouds and then more less dense hits, maybe 15 in total until the vapor is very thin.

The only difference between the RooR and the Herbo is the controller I think. Everything else is the same.

One last self righteous post...

I have some really special bud, it is Platinum Bubba Kush, super oily and greasy feeling and smells like heaven!
I reserve it for use in my Supreme 3 because i use chunks of it and have never ground it before.
Well tonight i said, screw it, lets do this in the RooR tonight!
Ground up a small amount and put half in the bowl, about 0,08g, and let the whole thing heat up for 20 minutes.
Hit after delicious hit, so many more and so much thicker than any of my other strains. Blew me away!
One load and i am done! Sweating and medicated and there are still a few small clouds left!
Heater at 8.5 only.
Amazed at the set up with quality and lesser quality bud, but you can really tell the difference!
It's like a science experiment, you can't fudge it!
Follow directions and you will get superior results!

This is the best session i have had with the Roor!
The ABV is a perfectly even medium brown.
Huge tasty rips are in my future!!

@biohacker

I have unlocked the beast!
Testing must be arranged! Post haste!

Wow! That's awesome! I've been dreaming about this one and crave more hits! It really is incredible how important quality meds are with vaping..... crappy grown strains simply just do not produce alot of vapour.

How is the Roor controller different from the Herbo XL? Are they not the same save for the label? The vapes should be identical?

I much prefer the Herborizer over the Vriptech! Vriptech is connoisseur level vaping no doubt, but l prefer the consistency, ease of use, and lack of hot spots with the Herbo....although both are fragile glass and expensive!

This vape just continues to impress me!
It has taken over as my designated daily driver and had to bump my Supreme 3 to achieve this!
Quite an achievement since my S3 has held that spot for almost 6 months!

For me this is the most expensive vape i own! I was lucky and bought it 2nd hand at a hefty discount!
Bought new and delivered to my door i would be looking at around $1300 all taxes in!
I am sitting right around the $350 mark for my RooR Vapor!:tup::rockon:
Ease of use and learning curve is so flat...
Set temp dial to required heat based on effects required.
15 minute heat up can be lengthy at times but once up to temp it stays there for hours! Every bowl of ABV is exactly the same color, bowl after bowl!
You can be in flavor country for an entire bowl and end up with green ABV! Turn it up a bit and BAM, back in flavor town, just different flavors and more vapor!
The taste and flavor is so pure and every strain is unique!
Effects are remarkable and being able to target certain effects at a repeatable setting is awesome!
I am very happy with my Roor and my Herborizer VAS has been acquitted due to re-branding!

It's the same, minus the Roor blown in house glass! I'm still dreaming about this one....can't wait to test with @lazylathe!

I LOVE vapes that gently heat from above....nothing between my lungs and the herb except for the screen!

How do you like your XL?

The Herborizer is my favourite daily medication tool.

I dont use concentrate. I am a flower vaporist.

Thanks Lazilathe for resurrecting this thread. Good info on the screen placing and covering the top.
I also own a Roor XL with the adjustable heat control, wooden case, ash tray and drinking glass which I won in a Treating Yourself Magazine promo so it was free.It has the TY logo all over the parts and B&B etched into the main body at the base which is my wife and my initials. I don't use it much because of the long setup/warm up times,my Volcano is so much faster and simpler but you're right ...if you don't mind fiddling with it you can get some big clouds, flavour and the herb doesn't brown out too fast.

Glad you're enjoying yours.

My Herborizer take 10 long minutes to heat up. Clearly not the fast Vaporizer.

Did you take a look on the Galaxy-Vortex ?

--> http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/galaxy-vortex.20765/

Somes said it take only 2 minutes to heat up with ceramic heater.

Not a huge fan of ceramic though for some reason...
All my ceramic heater vapes sit unused or have been sold.
May be worth a try though but i will stick to my Roor/Herborizer set up.

Revised my technique to devastating effects... Almost greened out for 3 hours tonight, first time in a while!

My usual tech is to just inhale till i get a lung full, hold for 10 to 15 seconds and exhale.
This produces quite thick hits towards the end of the hit, full convection hits.
Effects have been strong but nothing like tonight!

Tonight i tried this:
Inhale till the first few whisps of vapor start to form and exhale and empty lungs.
Continue inhaling and get super thick, dense vapor!
White wall the tube every time!

I was way to medicated for a few hours but if you are in need of seriously powerful hits, try this!
The culprit tonight was some wicked Super Silver Jack...
