vaporizing tobacco

my father wants to mimimize the cigarettes he is smoking... He smokes drum tobacco... For this reason he bought a e-cigarette but I am a little bit concerned about the ingredients used in this e-liquids regarding health ...
and have a lot of herbal vaporizers I could give him (crafty, grasshopper, esv, pax, vapman)... So my question would be which of those vapes would be best for vaping tobacco (drum or some other shag or if you have better solution please tell)... Also I do not think that he is willing to learn a lot regarding vaping like breathing techniques or so... so a vape with almost no learning curve would be favored by him... In my opinion the crafty, pax or gh would be therefore the best solution... any other suggestions?

I also having an eye on the okin... but think it would be maybe to much hassle for my father using it...

Also at which temp it is best to vaporize tobacco also in my opinion clouds would be appriciate from him to mimic smoking...does vaporizing tobacco produce visible clouds?

Does tobacco make clouds using a vaporizer?

Do you think vaporizing tobacco is safer and healthier the e-cigs?

any good ideas are welcome!!!

I've been using the pax for tobacco for 2 years, off and on, and was essentially combustion free from day 2. orange temp setting, or red for harsher smoke-ish vapor. I'm using American Spirit US grown tobacco, but drum should work the same. session style conduction seems best, convection is touch and go. log was too harsh, lotus was ok.

pax is preferred, it's the closest to a cig for me.

a urologist friend told me recently about smokers' kidney damage from all the aromatic hydrocarbons (benzene, toluene, etc.) that are in smoke, and not in vapor. made me feel better about fucking combustion.

thank you very much...
also one reason my father had to stop is because he have problems with his kedneys... doctors do not really know what the reason is... but he is loosing to much protein (proteinurie) and sometimes suffering therefore of edema.. so I am very happy that the urologist friend of you also says that vaporizing would be better... thank you very much!

For the world is hollow and I have touched the sky
There's a thread about vaping tobacco here:

http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/vaporizing-tobacco-not-e-cigs.29/

As for what vapes to use, I've heard the Solo is good for vaping tobacco. I've never tried it myself, I went the e-cig route when I quit smoking cigs (and recently quit using the e-cig as well!)

Another vape that comes to mind is the VapCap. Again, I've never used it with tobacco, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. Plus hitting the VapCap feels a lot like smoking a cigarette -- I even hold it between my fingers the same way I would hold my cigarettes. It's a very satisfying experience. I think it would be perfect for a tobacco user looking for a healthier alternative to smoking.

:2c:

E-cigs are for nic juice, not tobacco. He needs a vape that's designed for mj use, since that takes care of the material and temp range parameters.

at which temp it is best to vaporize tobacco
Try 250-300 F. You'll get more nicotine than with smoking so tell your father to watch it. Pipe tobacco is good for vaping- anything but chemical laden cig tobacco.

I'd get a vape that's relatively easy to clean since tobacco will fuck it up pretty quick. I'd also recommend a model with an easy to set temp range, so he can stay in the tobacco range.

I will never smoke tabacco in my Mighty, because nothing can remove the smell.

I also would not use tobacco in my vaporizer... but my crafty is laying arround for some time and is not been used anymore by me... I wanted to sell it but if it would be a good option to vaporize tobacco and help my father to quit cigs I would not hesitate to gift him my crafty ...

yes for sure e-cigs are for e-liquid sorry for that confusion but my mothertongue is not english... He bought a e-cig using e-liquid to smoke less cigs or cut back smoking...

but I do not know how safe e-cigs are, alos there are no long term studies how e-cigs are for you health...
and as I own some dry herb vapes I thought maybe vaporizing tobacco is safer .... just a suggestion ... maybe it is not...

ok regarding your concern of cleaning then the pax maybe is not the best solution....

can you recommend a vape or tobacco... do you vaporize tobacco?
and also thank you for temp. info... do you know if visible clouds are possible in this temp. range with tobacco... to mimic smoking...

You want to help your father quit smoking tabbaco by smoking more tabbaco? I dont understand, the nic is still there, massive amount of poisons and shit... You want to help him quit smoking tabbaco? make him smoke weed instead.

I want him to quit or smoke less cig therefore vaporizing tobacco which I think is less harmful then smoking it... nicotine is not as harmful as combustion and by products (aromatic hydrocarbons ....) as I understood... but of corse it is reliable for the addiction... as far as I understand....

he does smoke mj ... but only one spliff/joint per day ;)

Propylene glycol and glycerol are food additives. Certainly safer than smoke. Vaping tobacco is certainly an option. Whatever he'll use in order to stop smoking.

You should get vapor from anything that's appropriate to vaporize, if you're in the right temp range.

vapes tobacco modding the vapes
btka, I am solving the same task now. My findings up to date:

1) Any tobacco produces thin vapor. To get clouds, I add 2-3 drops of unflavoured e-liquid to the bottom of my vape chamber. Strength may vary down to 0 mg.

2) For tobacco I use Macbarren Virginia shag which is almost unflavoured. Keep off artificial flavours, they are terrible with vaping. Probably this is the reason why tobacco from cigarettes does not work for me. Some time I enjoy pipe tobacco naturally flavoured though.

3) Dry tobacco before vaping. Otherwise you get some harsh first draws.

I yet to decide on device for my father. I am looking for some easy to clean because tobacco mess up device quickly with dark resin, smelling bad.
