Good morning everyone, only a few days left yall, I am so stinking excited if I was anymore thrilled I would probably swallow my bubble gum lol! My friend just told me about Havasu Falls, I googled it and was like oh yeah we going there too, gosh this trip is going to be so much fun, I just got a pile of dough in yesterday so there is no stopping us now. Even got a brand new spanking GoPro on the way, be here tomorrow, will be so neat to have a bunch of video to go with the pics, I must tell yall I am excited but more so to see the smiles on my boys faces and the watch them make memories they will tell their grand kids about, this is what life is about, this is why I work so stinking hard, their hopes, dreams & laughs are what keeps me going putting one foot in front of the other. Woke up early and washed the truck, gotta dry off, was 75 this morning, just gets hotter from here. No matter all the excitement I have inside for the trip I am just as excited to get back, I have a huge redwood burl chunk, some logs with live edge I wanna do something with and other ideas in mind for the beta bombs, these will be a range to show you all what is possible, for the most part Vapor Bombs will be what they are through my site and wholesale, not that they wont be any less special. Just ordered some extra tooling yesterday as well, got a brand new roughing gouge coming, Since I have been turning I am on the my 3rd gouge, I like Henry Taylor, it has a 6 1/2"L blade, I only sharpen my chisel when it needs it, right now my blade is about 2", I wonder just how many pieces I get out one, be neat to know just how many pieces I have turned since I began this, I know its 1,000's, heck I have done several orders at 1,500 - 2,000 per order, crazy aint it! This and moving soon, hooray, the seller should have the new tin roof on by the time I get back, so love a tin roof, when it rains thats sleeping weather, the best! I am so ready for a scenery change with a bright outlook on life, its like a fresh breath! God is good, life is great, and I am a blessed man!

@Philreal187 Thanks so much bro, glad you like what I was able to do, as I have said before I am only able to do what you all great people let me, I had the idea for doing a live edge base for a while, gotta be honest, when I saw that slab immediately @NickDlow came to mind, I bought it without another thought, as soon as I posted it there was a comment and Nick hit me up as I hoped he would, took me more time than I would have liked to make it happen all the while my work load grows and grows. Its really a super nice piece, the eyes are very prominent and the finish makes em pop. Nick does have an impressive collection, thanks for stopping by and I wish you all the best!

@Aezhenn It really does have that look of fire inside it, great comment bro! I simply used some spray polyurethane, put many many coats on and wish I would have had time for even more would have liked to have built it up so thick that would have been sweet! Hope all is well for you my man!

@NickDlow I was thinking that if FC had a board of members kinda like a government counsel you would be the FC Log/Stem Ambassador, it would be a title of great stature and dignity, I can imagine you traveling all over spreading the word and wonders of the beautiful wood and log experience! I would love to nominate you for this position, I know you will do well and go about your duties with much passion and love! like @Copacetic mentioned and others have in the past, if nothing else you should open a museum no doubt! Thanks for all the work homie and the joy of doing it all, you are the man!

@starvingmusician24 Glad you like what you see also, thanks for stopping by bro!

@little maggie Hey there, your package should show soon too, look to hear what you think of that Nano piece. Wont be long, once the beta bombs are done surely we can start it, does anyone know how that works, who do I need to holla at bout getting that up and running? Wish you well Maggie!

@Melting Pot Thats right my man as @little maggie said, there will be a new log in town before long, named it the Vapor Bomb years ago just took alot longer to get to where I am at now with it is all. Keep your eyes open bro, it will be blowing up really soon!

@Copacetic Could I get you to second my nomination for @NickDlow to be the very first FC Log/Stem Ambassador? I feel with a second we can take this appointment up for a vote, convene the counsel there is work to be done!

Thanks for the kind words everyone but the praise can only go to @Ed's TnT @underdog and @underdogette for their amazing craftsmanship. Of course I can't forget @Snappo for bringing us/me pure gold in the form of wood blanks. I'm just the wallet lol but thank you guys anyway.

Not sure what to do about the double post. This is bog oak which is an amazing wood. I've read a couple of books where bog wood played a part and am excited to have it. The bog oak is for my enano. I'm actually not sure what the smaller wong is for.

Good afternoon you all, just dropping by for one last quick Show & Tell, got everything done as far as work, orders packaged about to go to the PO soon, bout to get the boys and head to church, then a quick nap then we split at midnight westbound! I have packed so much stuff yall, had I not got the camper top from my friend I wouldnt have gotten in all packed in, its bottom to top side to side, we oughta have everything and then some!

Ok so remember I mentioned to yall I had to get a new gouge, this is my 3rd roughing gouge chisel

2016-06-25%2004.32.13_zps2lwzqhpo.jpg

I forgot how nice it is to have a new gouge, I dont have to lean over the piece so close on the tool post, this one is kyro steel, super freaking hard, it oughta be for what I paid for it! Will see how many pieces it turns, I know I did 500 this month alone.

This is a special set I did to send to George @ VapCap, wanted a limited run with various pieces, all is Thuya Burl, remember the blocks I said I got the other day, these pieces have nothing of the chunks I was lucky to get!

@Reflections You are so right, I dont wanna jinx it but feel I am at another direction in my life filled with bright and better days, I am so thankful to see them here, only hope to do the best I can with them, thanks for stopping by, am so excited to be leaving tonight, nothing but fun, no work, no turning, no nothing, holy crap, idk how long its been since I did anything like this, its crazy! Cant wait to get the pics and videos, the GoPro is going to be key, going to do a ton of video and put it all together when we return, just wait! Wish you well my friend!

@little maggie I was wondering where that FM piece got off to, I was supposed to send it to someone else, couldnt find it and had to get another out to him, lol, figured it would turn up just didnt figure it would be on the other side of the country lol! I received my Vapcap package last week. Boy oh boy have I been keeping myself medicated. The Vapcaps are so efficient and the stems and bodies are almost hypnotic. I find myself just staring at them.

I just wanted to say thank Ed @Ed's TnT,for creating such beautiful pieces. You are blessed to work with nature in such a magical way.

Looking forward to more of your creations!

Wow hello and good morning you all, what a few weeks it has been, I have had such a blast with my boys, the days will surely be some of the funnest of my life and am sure they will be telling their kids about them as well! We did 5,375 miles in 15 days through just as many states, we so covered some ground, toward the end we were tripped out and ready to be home, gosh I missed the trees and the low lands, aint no place like home! Its so funny, we were gone so long in so many different places that my first night home I woke up at some point to pee, I walked into the kitchen disoriented was trying to figure out where I was at, I even had to turn on the light, ohhhh the bathroom is the other way lol! Yeah so it took me several days to regroup mentally and physically, at least 3 or 4 days of washing clothes, putting stuff up, and just being overall lazy. So before I show ya what I have been up to yesterday, I wanna show yall a few pics from the trip,

Carlsbad was alot of fun, we walked about 7 miles one day, through the cave where it was in the 50's felt like heaven, trails above ground and all over. These are the Barberry Sheep I mentioned above, hella climbers

BarberrySheep_zpshpfunbuc.jpg

Was just below Carlsbad Caverns camping, I really hadnt thought about running into this guy, not that I am afraid of em but sure aint going to let him get that close to me either

Tarantula_zpsdb9laami.jpg

We left Carlsbad, went to Roswell, was neat, ran into some guys that have some really far out there ideas on what aliens are up to, stopped in this one dive, looked at the pic later, looks like he found Beavis & Buttheads couch.

Alien_zpsps2g9xum.jpg

We then went to Lincoln, NM. for the Billy the Kid tour, how cool that was yall walking the streets, going into the Murphy Dollan House, in the Mcsween house, going to the jail where Billy was held, wow just the feeling was so neat.

Billy_zpsguo2ths5.jpg

I grew up watching Young Guns, have seen em many many times, this is the stairway where Billy shot Bell coming up the stairs in the movie, the holes at the bottom are Billy's

Bill%20Stairs_zpsmfe15qwi.jpg

So cool looking down these stairs thinking Billy was up top trying to escape one thing led to another and Billy made his way!

Went to Albuquerque to camp at the Cibola National Forrest, that was alot of fun too, the boys and I hiked up the mountain side to 8,000', did some spelunking there.

Cibola_zpsy6xhhcq3.jpg

Went into the city to the science museum, the rattle snake museum, then walked through a part of the city called Old Towne, had many many shops with local vendors selling art and jewels, alot of nice stuff, there was this old cathedral around the square, had been there since 1706 San Felipe

San%20Felipe%201706_zpsfbajj6so.jpg

Left there headed to Vegas, did the Hoover Dam and 4th of July fireworks over the city, I have a temp thing on the side of my mirror in the truck, I had no idea it would go that high, was freaking 112 out there, yeah not my kinda heat

Hoover%20Dam_zpse6b7zfj8.jpg

Went to Zion National Park from there, that was a whole lot of fun, we went up the Narrows, the boys got in the stream floated in the current, climbed on rocks, gosh what good times

ZionNarrows_zpsuuwhmis2.jpg

Left there to go rockhunting for geodes on the Pony Express Trail, there is a great spot at the Dugway mines where the guy let his claim go, anyone can go and dig for them, we had a heckofa time, my truck was already packed from top to bottom side to side and had to find room for at least 50 lbs of rocks, seeing the boys smile when they broke one open and gazing at the crystals inside was so fun. You have to drive an hour on the trail to get to the mine, its all wide open country no fences, no light poles, no man made stuff except for a couple rock houses kinda things along the way I guess for the riders to stop, we saw a herd of wild horses

Horses_zpsbnyzkc1y.jpg

Headed North to Yellow Stone, we saw Buffalo, Elk, Pronghorn, squirrels, geysers, mudpots, an Old Faithful, they said when it ran every hour 50 years ago, now hes running about every 90-100 minutes

Old%20Faithful_zpsxtulhufo.jpg

We were there on a Friday, I had no idea it would be that cold, I had fully intended on camping there but didnt pack enough cold gear, was 30 at night and was supposed to snow Sunday, uhhhhh yeah! Got a hotel for one night which cost me as much as 3 nights along the trip, couldnt afford another. We went through Colorado Springs to Dragon Mans place, took a tour through his huge military museum, the boys got to hold a big sword with a gold handle that Saddam had next to his bed when the US forces raided it, saw all kinds of cool stuff there. We drove through Kansas to Arkansas, had dinner with my former pastor and his wife, went to church with them that sunday night, was great seeing his sermon, had forgotten how great a preacher he is, was very moving and a blessing! We were headed to BassPro in Memphis for the last stop, its the mega store, total DU head quarters, made it home Monday afternoon. Boys went back to their moms a few days and I got em back after a couple, did the waterpark Friday, got some sun on my body, still feeling the burn baby, lol, got church with them tonight. I have never done anything like this before, I didnt do any wood work at all for 20 days, I rarely answered an email, I thought nothing of work for the most part and loved every minute of it. I had such a great time with my kids, I cant help but think of all the fun times we had the smiles the laughs the stories we told remembering what happened in the day, I am such a lucky man to have my sons, they are what its all about!

Ok so now for Vapor Bomb Show & Tell, so I got back had several orders to fill, had a big shipment of Bomb blocks show up while we were gone, I cant remember how many pieces are in this box but know it weighed 76lbs. the piece standing up is juniper I snagged from just outside the Pony Express Trail

Bomb%20Wood_zpsbp5ran7r.jpg

Here is a Redwood Burl beta Bomb I turned yesterday

Redwood%20Bomb_zps8eaotibl.jpg

Gotta get a few more spun today, got the air pathways done, gotta install them, wire in the connector. The hard part now seems to be finding the right kind of controller, I have some rotary dimmers that I can wire inline but dont really wanna do that. I want to find the right boards and put together a digital display giving the user complete control over the unit. Am giving it hell beating the internet streets in search of the right components. Its all going to come together. Hope you all enjoyed my post, glad to be back!

@Oogendoogan My man, was a trip of a lifetime, hope you like the pics and all above bro! Let me know what you think of the beta bomb, more to come!

@Shit Snacks Wow Zion was fun bro, so glad we made it there. Hope all is well for you!

@Squiby Hey there, thanks for dropping by with the kind words, I am most grateful! I hope you enjoy those pieces for a long long time to come. Pls do let me know if there is anything I can do for you. I wish you well and all the best!
