Only smoke a joint when offered by friends at social events -- If not I stick to vaping.
Thats the only time i smoke!

It tasted like burning plant matter, what can I say? I could barely taste the weed. :( Honestly I could barely taste any cannabis taste at all. It just tasted like burning.
Sometimes that old time urge hits me , and I roll a j
and take a hit , and the taste makes me gag ,so I learn
again how vaping has ruined my enjoyment of combusting. ⚡
Yup. i quit smoking cigars about 3 months ago. started vaping exclusively at the same time. now anytime i smoke i can't stand the taste. no satisfaction. still smells nice, but no longer tastes nice

after you vape for few months, you understand how BAD is the smoke to your lungs... You can feel it... I dont think I will even smoke again (just if my vape is broken lol)!
True indeed! Vapman was a great investment/backup to my Crafty!

From September 2013 no tobacco, no joint... only vaping.

Sometimes, I think about smoking a joint, but it ends there. It is probably more a case of 'phantom limb of marijuana smoking'. I used to have a 'limb' for that sort of activity, but it has been hacked off by the healthier feeling of vapor.
lol. phantom MJ limbs. i know exactly what youre saying!

Fairly new to vaping herb so still finding it hard not to, if I'm honest. Have totally quit the cigarettes and now just vape ejuice but it's hard not to wanna roll a joint. But that's probably more to do with the whole ritual of rolling it as I can't stand the taste or smell of tobacco anymore...well not much :spliff:

i chose between blunts and vaping when i had a cheap Gpen by Grenco Science. the high from the pen didnt convince me to the point i couldnt leave paper.

but i did invest in a proper vaporizer thats portable. the Crafty by storz & bickel and i dont think twice..

i get 3 sessions out of a .5
each session gives me 5 - 10 hits from a .15 each chamber fill...

i really only need 1 session for breakfast, then lunch and sometimea i dont even have my dinner session... its definately help me cut down by a lot. you feel satisfied and just keep doing your own thing...

i can say its working well for me.

Brought my haze to a music festival last weekend I did a few pulls from a joint here and there but only after refusing it for ten times in a row and getting raised eyebrows because of it. While I was on my second pull I just had to admit I just did not like it and pulled out the haze for a nice solo session.

After four years of fucking combustion, I had a slight setback. It was at a friend's place who loves to combust. Usually I bring a nano and vape while he smokes. But I forgot to bring anything, and really wanted to get medicated. His herb was very good smelling. So after some time I decide to try a single combustion hit in his steamroller. Mostly I wanted to tell if the herb tasted as good as it smelled.

So I fired up a lighter and took a steamroller hit. Halfway through the heat felt too much,so I stopped. Not soon enough to stop a major coughing fit. My face turned bright red and I started sweating a lot. What I couldn't believe was how poor that great-smelling herb tasted. It tasted like sucking on a charcoal brick. I even tried another small hit, just to get the taste, but it was the same nasty taste.

I think vaping has fine-tuned my sense of taste, to where any strain combusted now taste like poo. And gives me an hour-long headache.

Mistakes will be made, hopefully not repeated.

many of my friends still prefer to combust, so i still share a j with them. not my preferred method. the high is more stony (read: likely to get burned out) when smoked imo.

I haven't combusted since 7/20/2015.

Dabs only, please.
Started as a Dabawan newbie and am now a Dab-Snob (although probably still ignonrant).

Last season I almost partook in a joint while hot-tubbing after skiing.
But I was fully medicated at the time, so politely declined.

I think the taste is what pushed me from mostly vaping to entirely vaping. Being able to fully appreciate the true aroma and profile of the product is simply head and shoulders above having it spoiled by tar skid marks on your palate with a hint of butane residue.

I find new strains much more exciting now and really appreciate what they have to offer in a way that I found difficult when combusting, because whatever flavors they offered were diluted by the same old taste of burn.

Before Vaping (BV), I would only combust for recreational purposes and getting high was always a trade off with the coughing and generally feeling like crap the next day. :shit:

Now that I vape, I vape a lot more often than I ever smoked. I enjoy the experience of consuming weed through vaping, taking in a flavorful smooth hit and more thoroughly love just getting and being high.

Now, I never feel crappy the next day.

teach me how to be a dab snob! and what makes you do so!

I'm a vape snob now lol. everyone knows I vape, everyone knows I prefer not to combust. dabs are hard to get good quality where i'm at.

what/why makes you a dab snob?

Oh, I'm picky about the quality of my concentrate.
I only buy ounces.
Really only want to dab on a full Sapphire Halo; even SiC doesn't compare.
Don't use a torch (even when on the go).
I sold all my cheap glass.
My pieces are now all beautiful in both form and function.

I was combusting out of dirty, oily, resin packed spoons for decades that I would just as likely throw away as clean, UGH!
... And now I've spent $1k on a single piece of glass, here's the collection:

And I am awaiting the arrival of the Source Orb4 Signature Set that will hopefully be a good solution for "dabbing" when skiing or hiking.

:D

PS However, I harbor no illusions regarding the relative impressiveness of my glass collection.
Some people here are truly off the hook!
I'm looking @ you @Deadshort480 !

:p

PPS Upon further reflection, the biggest contributor to my dab snobbery definitely comes from my Sapphire Halo ...
If you have the means, you really must try one [/Ferris Bueller voice over].

And for this, I blame YOU @herbivore21 !!!

Thanks man.

@CarolKing I never smoked tobacco, just neat single skinners, and the weed always smelled and tasted so good back then especially in The Dam. I always thought it had to be so much better than when diluted with cigarettes.
Now I can't stand the smell on my fingers when I have had a smoke. I don't miss it one bit.

It wasn't real cheap, but I do like it.

Controller: http://www.auberins.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=45&products_id=491

I initially bought the car adaptor for the unit, but it never worked very well and I kind of put the travel enail idea on the back burner.
Then my car was having battery troubles so I picked up this jumping unit that also charges portable electronics:

Match made in heaven.

Your choice on what kind of travel glass you want.
I haven't found a smaller, better designed recycler than this Liquid Glass Arts travel recycler ($250):

Nail is also up to you, but the controller (Auber RDK-150) only comes with a flat coil so the obvious choice is a D-Nail SiC Halo for smooth taste and great durability.

i rolled a skinny half blunt wrap & it tasted so nasty. My herbs was so well grinned up and all i tasted was the wrap.
i know my mistake was using too little herbs in the paper. but i just cut the top off. and opened it up and vaped it!!! Yeah the whole scenario was awful... vaping no longer had the delicious taste. instead it already had a fumed taste to it.. never again..

I've never been a fan of them. Really, the only good thing about them is that it is the most discreet way of combusting with a group of friends in public, but it's still not great. Honestly, I think a lot of people I know like them just because they look "cool" and all of their favorite hip-hop artists rap about them (blunts usually being the topic, but almost the same thing nonetheless).

I actually took a draw off a joint the other day at a memorial of a close friend. Out of politeness and in honor of a big stoner.

He smoked joints and bongs. I did talk to him once about vaporizing. I said you don't have to worry much about smell and it's healthier for you. He smoked cigs too. A man very set in his ways. He died of a sudden heart attack. He was only 60 and had 5 kids and like 14 grandkids. The world was a much better place with him in it.

Couldn't get the smell out of my nose just from the one draw. How did I smoke joints for so long before I saw the light? Thanks to this forum.

I also had a draw of a tobacco joint the other night - 1st tobacco in 7 weeks, and it was horrific. Felt like I had licked an ash tray. Like you I thought "I can't believe I did that all day every day for nearly 20 years". Never again. Trying to convert my joint smoking friends to stop. They quite like the vaporizers but not willing to spend the money and commit to stopping smoking. Say they will miss joints too much. I don't miss them one bit, and my wife, kids and house I'm sure don't miss them either.
