JyARz Storage Containers

The sound of vapor
Alright I'm gonna throw this idea out there because it's been bothering me for a while, and please note this is only a suggestion, even more a suggestion based on an if.

So @JyARz, IF you already have the mould for the BB ready, maybe you could do a one time only IGG campaign to see if you can found one batch of those for the ones who've been waiting for it for a long time?
After that no more of those since you think it's not a viable product for your company (that said the interest in the campaign might make you change your opinion?) but at least some of us will be happy with them. I know you said it seems to you there are already existing options for this kind of container, and the portability that makes the classic ones stand out is not an asset for the BB, but I'd say it's not that much of an asset for the satchmo either and in any case (speaking for myself here) I believe a BB would beat a mason jar or any big glass pot. Your Jyarz have functionality and style, not every container does.

Again this is only based on if getting one batch is viable for you. I'm pretty confident from this thread that others would like their BB and knowing it'd be a one time only batch they'd probably stock up. Heck make it a special limited edition maybe and create some buzz for the rest of your brand! :)

Apologies for bringing this to the table again, if the answer is a no, I'll totally accept it and will not mention this idea ever again.

I've been thinking the same thing. I get wanting to focus on portability, but the satchmo isn't exactly portable...

I picked up one of the mason-re jars that @JyARz mentioned a while back and it just left me wanting a larger model jyarz even more. It's kinda a cool product but the silicone sleeve isn't super snug and the gasket in the lid is cork, so it doesn't even come close to Jyarz :2c:

Hmm, that's unfortunate about the Mason-re, it looked like a reasonable "home stash" version to me. I'll keep thinking about it. The start-up costs are pretty hefty thus my hesitation.

I ran into some rebranded Jyarz: http://www.stashlogix.com/collections/homepage/products/satchmo-jar

Aldo, it's great to see your market grow.
Yes indeed. Those are made by Jake Cappelutti, he's a master glass etcher. He does incredible work.

Thank you for pointing it out. We are growing ...one customer at a time...old fashioned of us but it's quite satisfying. I'm not trying to make a $1M, I'd rather have a loyal following that loves our products. And we are doing just that thanks in large part to you all! -Aldo

Posted this awhile back... Aldo was awesome as usual and was kind enough to hook me up with his artist Jake over at Dank Tank Studios. I can't say enough about the sweet work Jake turns out. Check out Jake And DTS on Twitter or Instagram

And for some pics... My apologies, only had my cell with me and you really do have to hold them to get a feel for how bad ass they are. I'm pleased to say the least.

It's that attitude that is going to make sure you make more than that 1m.
Love the product keep up the great work.

On a side note it was a sad day for me the day Aldo said he was scrapping the Lg jar idea.
Maybe a limited run see how they do.
You are more than just a portable on the go jar company in my book.
Everyone store in mason jars we want high class JyARz
When I bust out my jyarz everyone is like sweet were did you get them from.
I just send them to you.
Have a great day Aldo

I'd love this too but you need to make new molds for this, prototype the molds, prototype the product. It's a big leap financially. I'd love a bigger one as well but can understand why he's hesitant.
I thought there already was a prototype (and hopefully a mould too) as Aldo was in the process of making a video, that's why I said IF it's viable then why not have an IGG campaign (fully founded only) so all costs are covered.

I might have misunderstood and maybe the BB is just a few lines on a piece of paper or pixels on a screen; I was under the impression it was in a more advanced state. Also it's very possible that I'm missing something here and going from a prototype to the finish product is way more complicated and costly than I think. Naively maybe I'd think the BB is a buffed satchmo (so with increased proportions but that's it?) and the materials and manufacturers would be the same ones; I'll admit that's me talking while not knowing a lot of variables (machine sizes, availability, cost, etc...).
Obviously Aldo is the one who knows how many customers/followers he has, how much it all costs and so if it's viable. What I can say though is that there seems to be an interest for a bigger one (hopefully not just from the FC elite) but I realize it's hard to evaluate how big that interest is, that's where an IGG campaign would help I think, preventing from losing money, but again I'm basing all this on assumptions.

I'm genuinely curious to know how much it'd cost to make a mould.

Thank you man let's see what happens and I'm glad you are enjoying your jyarz I really am ;-)

We made the video for the larger size ... who knows maybe we post it and if you all help us spread the word maybe we can raise teh $30-40K we need to get the whole thing spun up.

What do you all think?

The mold is about $30K to make then we need to source glass which is the next most expensive part.

It's all very time consuming and expensive and I thought there were reasonable alternatives but maybe I'm wrong?

Errf, I really was hoping the mould already existed (but then why would you have made one and not carried on...). And I hear you Aldo when you say that your time is one thing you might lose in this, especially when you're developping your holster. And thanks for answering my curiosity regarding the mould price. :)

So you'd roughly need to sell like a thousand of those BB in the campaign to make it happen, no? I honestly don't know if that's easily achievable or not...

Does anyone know how people feel about a bigger JyARz on reddit or facebook for instance? Maybe there's a way to survey this somehow?

Right, most of the cost is in the prep and the mold. Once he is making them it is (relatively) cheap to KEEP making them, unless they just don't sell. Or I would think, anyway...

I see Aldo included info in his reply above so, nevermind. ;)

Added: Plus sourcing the glass. Probably a huge per piece difference sourcing 1000 as opposed to sourcing 10,000...

WE have the video ready to go so getting the campaign going isn't that big a deal. BUT i'd rather get a clear sign that there's a lot of demand for a jyar this size. Until then I have an instinct to create some other products simply don't exist that I think might be very popular. Opportunity cost!

Yup, glass is very expensive the most expensive "per unit cost" of the whole shabang.

... Hi Aldo or @JyARz

I want to start off by stating I LOVE jyarz!! They are my favourite.
I have a bunch, multiple of every size/colour, and i have gifted a bunch (Which received lot's of loving).

I assume it's on the newer regular size jyarz with the thick black gasket on bottom and thin white gasket in lid.
My personal preference is the two white gaskets of the same thickness.
...Don't get me wrong, this is not a complaint, just me relaying my personal preference.

...What i do not like about the thick black gasket/thin white - The glass insert sits quite high, and i do not like the feel of closing the lid... (...i know i have quarks...)
...Why i prefer the two white gaskets - The glass insert sits slightly higher than plastic, not by much (~1mm?) but mostly i like the feel of screwing the lid on...
it feels like it seals more (if that makes sense)... you can close the lid tight, but your able to get about another rotation to really seal it! - this is my preference.
(hope i explained myself good enough)

Please do not take this as a complaint, as I'm still able to get the (older?) white gaskets and swap them out of the new jyars i get.

Not sure why the change in gaskets? But please do not stop offering the original gaskets separately.

Thank for providing us with an amazing product
Keep up the good work :clap:

Damm just popping in to see if there was a BB update and this. To be honest its dead then because its a niche and it will not be cheap look at the price of the Chico in the UK it is £13 thats a lot for such a small thing and people will not see the quality mass produced China nearly always wins and that is why i vape so much material to get over this utterly depressing fact about humans. :D

But seriously, The campaigns scare me because you lose the backers money right? Or am i wrong? If so sorry but i out of principle would not pay for something that does not yet exist nor might not exist and would take my money. But if it comes to market 100% WANT WANT WANT because it will be an incredible storage option.

If anything it will propel the Jyarz brand simply through advertising i told people this before when they made grinders better than a Space Case yet who has the brand name and why? Yes Because they have a small niche and expensive product doing the advertisement. And i bet that Space Case still outsell those comptons by miles because people might not be able to afford the large but they will settle for a medium because it has quality combined with an oversized showcase product giving the brand name an aura.

Big Bertha would bring that Aura to Jyarz so maybe look at a limited run in a different light of what Jyarz might gain as a brand, A holster never will do as much sorry Aldo so i think i will leave this for me as if it comes to market i will buy, If not i wont give IndieGogo the time of day because backers can lose money. But if im wrong on Indiegogo i will maybe maybe back the BB because it will be a special lifelong treasure to anyone who managed to get one.

I was about to launch our IndieGoGo campaign toward funding the production of a new larger size JyAR. I've decided to pull the plug. There's been something holding me back for over a year and its finally become clear to me what it is. Up to a certain size, JyaRz offer a unique set of values that make the extra expense worth it. A lot of that value relates to the ability to offer a container that is designed for smell-proof portability. When portability isn't a value, I think the extra cost of buying a JyAR diminishes rapidly. There are many good options for large containers that basically sit on a shelf or table most of the time (Mason:re being just one example (see above).

So .... what next....

I see a very large unfilled need for all sorts of "JyARz" (I use the term very loosely) that support the odor-proof, storage and transport and consumption of cannabinoids. WE are deep into the design of some small, highly adaptable bags. We have in mind a whole series of other related products (more on that once we've made more progress).

For those who have waited so long for a new larger size JyAR I apologize for all the hemming and hawing! All I can say is I hope you enjoy the new products that we'll be bringing to market!

As always I appreciate all the support from all of you subscribed to this thread. I had no idea how valuable this group would prove to be when I signed in a few years ago - amazing!

Hello Aldo. I think my Jyarz classics may be the most worthy vaping accessories I own. So much so that I made my own larger (8 oz.) versions using mason jars and Plastidip. They say that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. Hope you see it that way. Anyhow, I seem to have gotten ahead of you. Can you help a guy out? Something is missing from this picture:

I know that yellow Jyarz have been requested before, but I don't know if they've ever been made. I gotta believe they would sell. How about it? A trial batch?

ps. If you like this color, it's called Summer Squash (satin).

I was one of the guys requesting the yellow color, don't remember why but I think that Aldo said that it wasn't posible? not sure about it...

While they do look similar, kinda, they are missing one of the most important features. JYARZ are made from recycled plastic so they have an ecological component that your jars lack. Find some recycled Plastidip and you will be closer...
