I use the miniVAP Flexicone almost 100% on Herbie and many other vapes. I love it !!!
I almost 100% use it "open face" style: Flexicone module sitting in bottom half of Herbie bowl. Top half never used/ never needs cleaning.
Hydratube will fit directly on Flexicone..

Another option is to snug Flexicone into Herbie Song and snug Song onto bottom bowl. With the Flexicone, I find no use for the Herbie top half of bowl.
Complete bowl with Song snapped on would be most stable but I don't need that level.

With Flexicone, bottom bowl and Herbie chamber never need cleaning .
V1 Song on left with shorter sides, Flexicone module resting in lower bowl, taller V2 Song on right.
Songs also provide for much firmer/solid whip connection than stock Herbie whip in stock Herbie top bowl.

Thank you very much for that info. I really want to use the flexcone because cleaning is a pain.
Do you find that the song with the longer sides is a pain to take on and off so you can refill the bowl?

Also unfortunately I don't have a hydra tube just a whip hooked up to some glass. I think my whip is the SSV kind, would this fit directly onto the flexcone? What about the bag does that easily connect?

Thanks again. You're saving me from learning the hard/expensive way!

So do you use this set-up so you never need to clean the bowl?

Where can you buy that top?

You're welcome.
1. I mostly go "open face" with just the Flexicone and Hydratube directly on that.
When using the @Ratchett Herbie V- Song, I found it easier to use than stock as:
- it acts as another heat barrier/insulator to more easily lift off a hot bowl
- it acts as a "ergonomic gripper" and is easier to hold the bowl as it is wider like ergonomic kitchen tools
- it gives you a better hold to tilt the bowl/ break the magnetic hold
- Song is NOT a pain to then take off to fill the bowl.
- NOTE: Song is ESPECIALLY VALUABLE FOR A WHIP TO BUBBLER CONNECTION. STOCK WHIP IS NOT A FIRM CONNECTION TO BOWL. WHIP INSERTED IN SONG IS MUCH FIRMER CONNECTION. SEE PIC:

I piece together "the best of" with parts from all vapes :)
Below is MFLB (Magic Flight Launch Box) Water Whip--hose with glass male 14 mm connector and a nice wooden handhold. Sometimes use as direct whip at lower temps and then slip into bubbler at higher temps. Wooden handhold and glass "mouthpiece" work great as a whip. Pricey but assembled/ nice design at about $30. But many other DIY whips work too.

Currently I don't do bags so can't answer ?? on them

EDIT-- zombied, if you are looking for the Silicone Song "top", our own @Ratchett sells them at his Delta 3D Studios. Look at his thread
MiniVAP modules (wire basket, screen, silicone Flexicone top) are sold by our own @stickstones
I find both very useful

@batking and @stressed - Herbie is a high tech machine that is more accurate and faster than anything on the market. It's the closest thing we have to a medical unit right now. I would suggest going into it with the mindset that this is how it is supposed to be done as opposed to how it isn't like what you've used before. It's human nature to compare the present to the past, just don't think that the units you had in the past are the standard to judge by.

For instance, the temp indicator in the Q is an approximation at best that can be as much as 30 to 50 degrees off at the bowl. Herbie has sensors before, after and at the bowl to measure temps and adjust the heat on the fly to keep the temp stable. It doesn't matter how hard or soft your draw, Herbie will keep the temp constant, and I don't know of another unit that can do that.

That being said, if you really want a punch to the face, use Herbie with whole nuggets as I've detailed several times in this long thread. Just put a whole nugget in there and take two to three hits depending on how dry the bud is. If it's a dense nugget, turn it over in the bowl and hit it a few more times. The hits should be wispy and tasty. Once it is adequately dried, dump it into your palm and crumble it up. If you've done it at the right time your bud will have no more oils on it to get on your hands. Put it back in and get ready. The next three hits will really get you good!

i fired up my Q this morning. i currently have that lovely high that i love on a bit less than .2 of a gram over 3 bags. with the huerbie, i'd sit there thinking, am i high??

@stickstones, i definitely get what you're saying and i plan on hitting a bunch of different temps and will try your flashing the buds idea. i had read that before but spaced it out somehow. :)

my honest and professional pot head assessment of the high at this point (377 degrees this morning) - extreme Q wins. i'm talking head high. that spacey smiling for no reason kind of high.

i'm thinking that if i'm getting more of a body stone at 388ish on the herbie, then i should go way down in temp and work my way up looking for that head high. like 360 or so. does that sound logical? ...actually i'm pretty high and i know that more thc is released at higher temps. maybe i'll start at 420ish and go from there...

i'm vaping my favorite sativa dominant (ghost train haze). yesterday, not much head high, today...lovely!

i know that this high must be hiding somewhere in the herbie and i shall endeavor to find it! it's science!

and "the faculty" movie is excellent when high!

i forgot to mention that the vapor from the Q tastes nasty to me after using the herbie. it tastes kind of burnt and nasty. i never noticed that before. it's like when i tried a joint after vaping for a long time. i couldn't believe how harsh my sweet pot was in a joint compared to vaping.

i also wait 20 minutes after i vape to judge the high. it usually takes about 15 minutes for me to really feel the high. the only drawback to vaping vs a doobie!

Try 330 - 365 for a head high, anything above those temps starts getting into stoned territory.

Also be warned that different strains need higher temps for their full effect. An indica vaped at low temps can give a head high without the body high. Which is useful when you don't have sativas available. I find that my main temps are 365(head high), 390 (stoned), and 430 (sleepy/heavy)

@stickstones Thanks for the advise. I am still trying and going through this 290 pages thread. I just hope my unit is not running cool and need re-calibrate.

Just received shipping confirmation from Fed-ex for my Herbalizer! I should say the link came from this video review of the vape:
And the purchase is through Green Flower Media who I was not familiar with previously.

It's here! Went straight to 360 F, nice head effect with what I believe is an Indica.

ok, i'm nicely high using herbie at 360. i vaped more than i normally would have (.3 to .4, i forgot to weigh it), but that was just because i wanted to be sure to get high to test 360. i've found the head range for me. now i'll just move the temp around a bit and see what i like best.

not a true believer yet, i have a few more things to try but i'm happier than i was yesterday! :)

I'm interested to hear how you like the higher temps. I'll bet the Q has you thinking you were vaping at one temp when really it was higher.

it's pretty stony! :)

i should have tried it with the haze i was using as my control genetic, but i used some GSC at the high temp. and it's pretty decent. then again i did .4 of a gram using 2 bags per .1. i have a real nice indica that i'll try it with one of these nights.

it's too harsh for the way i have my zeus iceborn set up but i'm going to freeze the water in the iceborn and try it again. i'm usually so high by the time i go to bed i keep forgetting to put the iceborn in the freezer. it tastes like shit at that high temp, but all i care about is the high, the high and the high! if that doesn't work, i'll get another water tool.

definately not the kind of high where you clean the house. :)

hay @turk ! does the steamroller cool it down significantly or is it just for bigger hits? there are 2 whole youtubes on them...2!

i just did a bowl of green crack at 445 and man am i stoned. me likey! :)

..................................................................................................

After experimenting, my guideline is:
the hotter the vaping temp OR the harsher the particular strain the more you WANT/NEED warm or hot water in the hydratube or bubbler. That really is the secret to the getting the most moisturizing to the vapor. Warm water hydrates the vapor more than cool/cold water AND the colder the water, the more vapor that condenses out.

I've found water to soften vapor more than frozen filters. The frozen filters cool the vapor but do nothing to the particulates that may get through. Water makes all my vapes better on the highest settings!

There's nothing wrong with 445 *F!

The lower temps might not satisfy you if you like higher temps. It's not as intense.
Oh don't get me wrong, I prefer higher temps and have been using Herbie mostly @ 445. I've only gone down below 400 once so far, and I didn't do much in terms of noting differences between the temperatures.

My EQ elbow adapter just arrived though and I'm still happily sitting at 445. I can get big clouds with my Möbius 60t through the adapter and I couldn't be more pleased.

I am typically in the 400 to 425 range from beginging to end of a bowl, but kick it up to 445 sometimes too.
