Just tested it out to see if it was the mouth piece side or the titanium bowl side that was giving me the issues. It seems to be more apparent from the titanium bowl side and how it needs to align correctly with the stainless condenser tube, i think?
196
I did finally get it to seat correctly where I was happy with the wood body on. I must've gotten lucky and aligned everything just perfect, but once I took it off for more testing, it was very hard to reinstall the wood body on again so I gave up til I get better advice on this issue.
My shorty burl body was a really tight fit at one end, I took a diamond file and just lightly brushed around the inside edge for a couple of seconds now it's a perfect fit. My Ti top with orange orings fit perfectly both before and after the file. Maybe the black ones are ever so slightly thicker?

I was just expecting my "warranty replacement" wood. I made a mention about a black wood mouthpiece and guess what was included.

A 1st impressions review, followed by some 'Fun'....

Dynavap Order #1757 - Paid 30/04/16, Shipped Internationally 01/06/16, Arrived 08/06/16

IT'S ARIIIIIIIVED!

When I placed the order...I was very aware that I likely had about 2 months wait before this little thing landed. I spent all of May desperately trying to NOT think about it! (I failed btw :ko:)
So I was EXTREMELY thrilled to get my Shipping Confirmation about 30days earlier than I had expected! :haw:

TYVM GEORGE! @VapCap Expect more of my money soon! :D

REVIEW

I was impressed after my very 1st use! In just 2 heat cycles it got me to the same level that a 10 minute session with my Arizer Air would get me! Plus, it didn't creep in like normal...my eyes felt heavier after just 2 lugs...my Air takes 5mins of use before I get that 'lead lid' feeling! :o
Very happy indeed!

My only problem with it is...it's not a Ti-Woody! And now OFC...I want NEED ONE!!:lol:
So that's another order I'll have to place. I wish I'd just got it at the same time as my OG :bang:

Ah well....Captain Hindsight
south-park-s14e11c05-god-bless-you-captain-hindsight-4x3.jpg

BUT... that's not the end of this story! :p

THE FUN...

I never had any intention of using my VapCap as it comes 'out of the box'
I only vape through water...and I regularly vape out of the house, so stealth is key!

I have a brilliant little bubbler mouthpiece for my Air which isn't much bigger than Arizer's standard stems.
My idea was to modify the bubbler/VapCap to fit together somehow. So I posted a Photoshop concept of my idea into this thread to see what people thought.

I BIG shout out here to @YaFreekin Right for directing me to the shisha mouthpiece which is exactly the same as my bubbler, just without the herb chamber!...I OFC ordered some when I ordered my Caps.

I said I would be back to post how it worked out...so, Here you go!

QkqZYvi.jpg

It's 180mm long when together.

The VapCap fits as snug as a bug in a rug! I Just push the OG with the standard silicone mouthpiece into the bottom of the bubbler until it won't go in any further.

They hold sturdy while I heat, vape at any angle, empty and reload it. But when its time to remove the OG...some gentle twisting and pulling is all it needs to come apart. I'm actually astounded at how perfectly they mate. Its virtually a modular bubbler...without any modification! @VapCap George could easily sell them on his site as a 'built for purpose bubbler mouthpiece'! You can buy them Here

I hold the bubbler in one hand, using my little finger to feather the carb hole. Its light and comfortable and using it reminds me of smoking an 'L-Skin'

(It does look even more like a crack pipe than the OG now though!!!! ;):()

I'M NOT DONE YET!!!

I see plenty of room for modifications to make the piece shorter and more efficient.

I have already removed the condenser...as the cooling is not required due to the addition of water.
This resulted in more visible vapour production.

I will cut off the top of a spare silicone mouthpiece to make it into more of an 'o-ring' instead.

I bought additional bubblers to experiment with. I am going to try cutting off the bottom of a bubbler so the VapCap goes almost to the top and then possibly shorten the OG glass tube to an appropriate length so the carb hole is in a good position.

I estimate I can get the total length down to 150mm or maybe less

I would also like to try the Ti-Shorty instead of an OG...I think if the stem was black wood instead of glass it might detract from the crack pipe look a bit

I will OFC post these mods to the thread as they are completed :D

Sorry for the wall of text, happy vaping all!

Threw some ceramic rods in my vapcap and I'm blown away by how this thing works with oil. I'm almost considering using it solely for that purpose. The ability to take temps higher really makes this shine with hash. The clouds are so impressive, and there's very little claim to deal with, which was always my biggest gripe about dabbing on a rig or pen.

Anything worth doing, is worth overdoing.
George nicely included two of the metal collars too, so I have added them to my old cracked sleeve.

@herbalist33 , George also sent me a crown that I can place on the mouth end. I have a slight crack there. Any tips on installing a crown?

I just received one of those shiny packages myself today. I can't take pictures right now, but I have a drop dead gorgeous blackwood Vong that just arrived. The wood is so beautiful. The blackwood has some lighter swirls through it, and the craftmanship is evident through the fine sanding and preparation of the piece.

I'm going to use it right now for the first time. I'll be back with an update:

I havnt really had a chance to do much swapping yet mate, so maybe someone else can chime in.

What I can say from my limited play earlier is that my omni condenser was very tight when I put it in the ti sleeve, to the point where I found it very difficult to remove (ended up using my torch on the outside of the sleeve for a split second which seemed to help the orings slide on the inside of the sleeve- obviously I wouldn't recommend this for a wooden sleeve). Also I could barely turn the mouthpiece when I was using the ti sleeve. The glass sleeve was almost just as tight, same problem turning the mouthpiece- when it would turn, instead of moving the condenser back and forth, the condenser stayed in one place, and the mouthpiece moved back and forth, and so I needed to push the mouthpiece back so it was flush with the end of the sleeve.

The wooden sleeve seems to allow easy turning of the mouthpiece, and the condenser moves as it should. I'm hoping that maybe my technique is lacking, or that the condenser/orings will loosen up with use. Like I said though, I literally only messed with it for maybe 5min earlier before I had to head to my nightshift, so I can't really give any concrete info. Tomorrow should be fun! Il keep you posted.

Peace

By the sound of it we have exact opposite problems. My glass sleeve and titanium sleeve fit perfect no problem

As a machinist, I can say the Omni is a fine piece of craftsmanship, and to attain the close tolerances needed for such a tight fit that alone is a feat that few can attain.
My outmost respect to George and his crew on creating this device.
My titanium sleeve fits a little tighter than my glass one, but I don't sweat it, I don't think the titanium sleeve will see much use if any. I like how the glass lets me see thru when I adjust the depth of the condenser to regulate the airflow.

Sure thing- all I needed to do was take a small bit of sandpaper and lay it on a flat surface, and then I took the wood stem and rubbed the end of it back and forth along the sandpaper. You only really want to sand the end of the wood, I kinda held the stem at a 45degree angle, as if I were writing with it- that's the kind of angle I used, (I hope that makes sense?). You don't need to go crazy, don't press really hard, just gently rub the sleeve on the sandpaper.

I then took the crown, placed it over the end of the sleeve, and then pushed the sleeve down onto the table, crown end first, so that the crown slid right onto the end of the sleeve as far as it would go....

Jeez sorry for such a long winded explanation, this nightshift is taking its toll, I'm sure there was an easier way to explain this lol!

@bhawkins94 yea it does sound like we have the opposite problems... Just curious, is difficult for you to slide the wood sleeve onto the omni condenser, or to slide the ti tip onto the sleeve? For me it's the condenser which seems to be the problem....

Il have a good fiddle tomorrow when I wake up and get back to ya!

Thanks @herbalist33 . So you're basically looking to round the edges of the tip. It sounds like at 45 deg angle you're just getting the sharp edge rounded so it fits easily into the crown. Sounds good. I wanted to make sure that you didn't need to sand a bit up the length of the sleeve.

Once I get the crown on I'll probably break down and get the extended condenser and mouthpiece to finish it off.

I just hit my new Vong for the first time. It was awesome. I noticed that the tip is a bit different. There looks like there may be an extra rib added on and/or the cap looks a little shorter. There are also some notches cut into the Ti tip. I assume this makes it easier to take the cap off. Anyway, it heats up and cools down faster too. I just took some rip-roaring hits on that some 'na bitch. I think I love it.

Feels like a nice chunk of wood.

@BabyFacedFinster no worries! Although I guess you do want to sand a little bit up the length of the sleeve too, ever so slightly. I suppose if you sand it a little, and it's still quite tight, just sand a mm or two up the length of the sleeve too. Just go slow, as you don't want to sand too much off to the point that the crown fits too loose.

(I'm really sorry, I'm finding it really hard to explain what I mean... My mind is just not working properly at the moment!)

Explanations were perfect!

My mind isn't working well right now either and it couldn't have been easier for me to understand.

Thanks buddy! I'm looking forward to my mind not working well later on when I start hitting all these glorious new pieces!!! Was thinking I may even clean out my glass and get some videos on the go- it's been a while since I saw a vid of a Dynavap milking some glass!

Stay tuned!

I'm interested to see how you have it setup in there! I've never gotten oils to work well with my cap.

Honestly I was able to just cut and stack 6-7 regular screens into the VC and put little bits of oil in. Somebody else in the thread some 20ish pages back uses some titanium mesh (screen) on the bottom, then two of the ceramic donuts that W9Tech uses (they're not smooth ceramic they have ridges and texture) and another screen on top. By the time I've got my quartz heated and cooled down to dabbing temperature I've pulled a fat oil rip out the VapCap. It's been interesting lol.

Hello everyone! I had the fortunate opportunity to visit the DynaVap lab yesterday and personally meet George and Matt. Great company, brilliant people and everything that's been said about their product and customer service is dead on. The quality of materials used, the design and engineering that went into building this and the level of service he provides to his customers is unmatched in this vaping industry. I can't wait for how this product is going to evolve in the next few years.

During my visit, I ended up receiving an omnivap, dynastasher and a 420 OG vapcap that hasn't even hit the market yet. Not sure if it is a demo unit or what, but he let me leave home with it! I gotta say, I feel pretty special! It is a minute alteration, but one I think we all will benefit from in the future.

Here's a snapshot of the men at work!

Great post - thank you sir!
It says a lot about George and his openness and care towards his customers. He takes the time to welcome someone - and not being the guy that isolates himself to only focus on money per time by pushing units out like crazy without communication.
@VapCap is almost unreal. Getting everything together, always maintaining a good tone, always there for his customers AND creating these wonderful products... I imagine, he needed at least 4 of his kind to be able to offer this set of qualities. George, I really think you're a vape rockstar savant!

Seeing all these beautiful Omni and burly pics, anticipation is almost killing me... I thought I calmed down since March 23, but these pics... Can't keep my eyes off them and start daydreaming..:)

Enjoy yours, guys! Hope to follow soonest!!

Peace

@bhawkins94 ive been doing some science this afternoon, swapping around all the various parts. im very baked! I have found that the omnivap isnt as stiff to turn today- it was however a bit of work to get the condenser tube out of my blackwood sleeve, but once out, it went into the titanium sleeve pretty easy. im gunna swap back to the wood later and leave it that way, but il let you know if i have difficulty.

right, ive come to realise the possibilities are endless with this vape. i have a regular and xl condenser, short wood, and titanium bodies, regular glass and cocobolo bodies, and a wood mouthpiece. itheres so many configurations. im loving the blackwood omni at the moment!

Im also noticing a massive difference in vapour from the ti woody now that i have a sleeve that isnt cracked- i didnt realise just how much of an impact it was having. also i think the new design tip is much better at conducting and dissipating heat. flavour is awesome, and pretty consistent throughout the configurations.

heres a link to an album ive made of some different layouts:

and here's one because theyre too big to post all on here :

Edit: I've cleaned my glass now too, so hopefully il get round to filming some videos before they get too dirty again!

Doesn't the ti Woody just look like its made to be paired with the magic-flight orbiter? :

Sweet lord look what I can do:
Vi0aStJ.jpeg

I present the Blackwood Omni Orbiter (BOO). I am really really high now guys, days off are great!

Which leads me on to an amazing Hidea I just came up with for a heating station for our Dynavape Vapes! I reckon you could fit a heater coil running from a 18650 into one side (the herb side) of a dynastash, and then use the other side to store your vape as normal.

Take out your vape, place it into the heating station (where you would normally store herb), and use a pressure/Spring switch so that current is supplied as you press down!! It could either be coil or even infrared I suppose, whatever's cheapest, because you don't necessarily need temp control at all- The VapCap Click is your temp control! Just remove it once it clicks, the pressure switch opens, cutting off the current and switching off the heater... And vape!

Interchangeable batteries.... Wow, @VapCap , you need to try to make this happen!!! Call it the VapeStation!!

If God is the answer, then the question is wrong
Wow this device is amazing! I love the audible and visual cues this thing gives me when its ready. My cap actually jumps when the click happens. Does anyone else's jump like this?

Every cap should jump when it clicks, it is a sudden movement of a metal disc inside the cap that gives the click, if the cap is sitting alone on a surface it will jump at the click like a magic bean :)

How are people liking using the hemp fiber with oil? Do you re-use it or just once?

My first session left my throat hurting and I wasn't sure about it, a second session the next day was a lot better. I think the flavor was good, but unfortunately the shatter I have isn't very tasty so it's hard to tell.

I got a bunch of donuts before I realized I didn't like them, I might try using their ceramic wicks like I saw other people using.

It comes braided and I was able to briefly get my wife to believe it was sterilized hypoallergenic albino hair as I threw it at her. She made the best face, totally worth $5.

Just placed an order for a ti black woody. I have a triple torch already but was thinking of getting a single or double. Any advice. How about this one.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00D...olid=10OV80UAFLUVR&coliid=I23FW2X1XVJJTR&vs=1

I have this triple lighter and I've got it to where I get a nice even dark brown after 3-4 cycles on my Ti Woody:

https://www.amazon.com/Scorch-Torch...8&qid=1466136249&sr=8-3&keywords=scorch+torch

However, I just got this double and it is much different technique that I am still learning. First time I used it, I combusted on the 3rd heat cycle and pretty black another time on the 2nd cycle. I think it is because the flames come to point and really focus the heat. I don't really intend to use it anymore, but only as a backup if my triple runs out of butane during a session.

Greetings!

It has been busy in DynaLand the last few days. Making up more parts, shipping more units, and setting up more equipment. We recently fabbed up a variable DC drill press, and added some additional components to the precision diamond grinder.

Then there is the organizing. This is something I am grateful for. Matt is the anti me when it comes to this. In other words, there has definitely been a noticeable increase in the level of organization in the lab as the time he is around increases.

And then late one night as I was pursuing another concept and trying to prototype it, I came across something fun. I was digging through the archives looking for a tool I made way back when I had to fabricate the caps from shim stock.

What is it?

IMG_20160526_220941295_zpszswiy7xd.jpg

It may not look like much, and I will likely take better pictures of it sometime, but it sure made me smile.

This is one of the original caps. I made these out of 0.005" or 0.08mm brass shim stock. I bent them into a tube, brazed the butt seam and then brazed the lid on.

How things have changed...

Cheers,

George
