Got our e-nano yesterday! We have used portables up to this point, and mainly keep going back to the trusty solo, but crafty, vapman, and vapcap have also been in the rotation.

Wow, the e-nano is a powerhouse. As recommended here, we preheated for a good long time, like over 20 mins--it's so nice not to worry about batteries and just turn it on & heat 'er up...

We enjoy low-temps for the most part so we started on 6 "with a small pinch"... I think it was a bit hotter than we needed. A few nice draws with clouds, but quickly started getting that popcorn taste, which we haven't experienced for quite a while with any of our other portables.

Got me to thinking, what is that popcorn taste exactly? when a tiny little bit gets charred? I wonder.

We will try much cooler later today, maybe start at 5... maybe push the screen a tiny bit back from the heater?

Really looking forward to dialling it in! Loving the wood, the look, the feel, the lack of draw resistance, lack of batteries or lighters... super excited and will keep reporting :)

Okay you guys. I was about to buy a milaana but then my EV-2 showed up today and HOLY SHIT is this a new standard set in vaping or what!!!!

Just curious if anyone knows how the milaana compares to the e-nano, looking for a bedside vape, the nano seems to be a good bit smaller than the ev2 and can run all the time... hmm..... does it hit as intensely as the EV-2 though? the ev2 is a MONSTER.....

If I might ask, where did you get the EV-2? I'm interested in getting one, but it seems they're no longer available.

I saw one in the classifieds here on FC. I used to lurk here without an account and remember when they were for sale new. I always regretted not gettone one. I bought a haze v3 on sale at some point and just never really liked it a lot so it collected dust. Turned out the seller had been wanting a haze since v1 and his ev2 was collecting dust. So it was a trade made in heaven really. I haven't heard from him too much since he first got the haze but his initial impressions were very positive! As are mine of the EV2, holy poop this thing slams.

I have no experience with the EV-2 but I can tell you the E-Nano is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Don't be surprised by its small size, it can give huge hits. I wouldn't be surprised if it worked better than the EV-2.

The only reason I don't keep mine by my bedside is because my cats love jumping up on my nightstand. I keep my portable there but my nano is not far away, warm and ready to go.

My favorite method for huge hits is to load the bowl @ataxian style, full but fluffy and loose. Probably about .08 grams worth. As you put the heater on the stem and inhale, the herbs almost melt together into a much smaller space, if done right you should have about a millimeter distance to the heater. You can get absolutely massive hits this way.

Thats good to now but it seems like the pack size for the nano is quite small. On the ev2 you can load a really really really big bowl. like a SSV size pack.

Welcome to the nano-nation! I'd suggest leaving the screen where it is and starting at 5. if that doesn't do it for you, go to 5.5. That's my usual low temp setting on my nano, but it is an older one and heat varies from nano to nano. Not sure, but think the popcorn taste is just what you get with slow cooking meds. Could be wrong here, but my guess is even if you had really crappy material that gave little vapor you'd still have popcorn after a while. To me, it usually just means it's time to dump and reload.

Also not familiar with the ev2, but do know the Milaana very well. IMO it is the closest thing out there without a cord compared to the nano. Kudos to RBT for doing that! Still like my nano better when at home. Biggest reason is ease of use. Once you get to know your nano, you set it where you want for that session and go. Milaana requires a bit of paying attention. And, while the Milaana has delivered some amazing hits, none come close to the nano BINGO hits you can pull when everything lines up just right.

I use the NANO the most however the EVO when I need it!

@ataxian that glass stem on your water tool is seriously long! That's crazy!
I am guessing you use the corn on the cob holder for some kind of pick or cleaning tool?

I ordered glass from dhgate, and they said it shipped 2 days ago. Anxiously awaiting the USPS updates. I have no idea how long it will take to get here

I already got my GonG and new stem and the new silicone heat protectors from Epic. I ordered on last Thursday and got them Saturday. Seriously fast service and shipping, much appreciated!

Thanks for the welcome and the tips! We did bump it back to 5.25, and pushed the screen just a hair, like .5mm really, and all I can say is WOWWWW. We are believers! The nano is king of the micro dose as far as we are concerned.

Our go-to before was the solo with a dome screen in. This reduced the capacity of the solo stem considerably, prob by 1/3 or more. We used even less than that last night in the nano for "testing," thinking we were still dialling it in... and we are now dialled in! Wow wow wow, totally impressed by everything you all say about it, especially flavour and efficiency.

We enjoyed a nice longish session that produced very good flavour, not harsh at all, superb effects, and even, light golden brown abv. (No popcorn taste either, even when it was clearly spent--I'm guessing it's the nature of the temperatures we prefer.) Totally awesome convection experience with glass vapour path. And even after what we thought was a small load we did not need any more!

Thanks again to all for sharing your experiences and helping turn us on to this beautiful little device :)

Took the plunge, I've seen this referenced in other threads, skimmed a bit here, and I love the look of the log,
So I just ordered the cherry.
Looking forward to it.
Good! You definitely won't be disappointed!

thinking about trading my verdamper into a e-nano

Haven't seen any US members (unless you're EU) with the Verdamper! That's a piece I've always been interested in, how would you say it performs? Well? How about compared to more modern vaping techniques?

Hey would you guys mind answering a couple questions for me? The difference between something like Maple and Premium Maple is? In other words is the extra $20-$30 worth spending for premium wood?

Thanks!

interesting question.
is premium wood "just" eye candy or more ?

and how would you describe the learning curve.
from what i have read each nano behave a little different temperature setting wise.

the fact that stems with adjustable screen exist, mmmh, is it a bug or a feature ?
a like simple units.

Hi @DarkSm0ke, I dont know if you have seen Snappos pieces of exotic woods that he sells to us here on FC but you should definately go check out his page, heres a link.

http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/e...ty-custom-log-vapes-vapor-stems.14039/page-43

Thanks for the link @Reflections! I had a run in with him on the HI thread. I don't think he cares for me by his response and attacks. In any case I would be surprised if he would sell to me. That's okay as I am sure there are lots of other options out there. The truth is; I was planning on giving my walnut nano to my sister and having epic make me another one with wood I supply, but in the last few days I have become really attached to the nano I already own. I know it might sound stupid but that little guy has a personality all his own, lol. I mean the temp it hits at etc, I am sure every nano has slight variances that contribute to each's "uniqueness". So I am thinking that I will find a used or buy her a new one, and then get a custom wood one from Epic in the near future. I had no idea I could get attached to a vape like this!

Honestly, I doubt it could be much simpler. The adjustable stem is definitely a feature, allows for different amounts of herb to be used depending on what you are trying to do etc......as far as the wood, it is mostly about aesthetics, although I believe there may be a couple of wood types more prone to splitting (not sure about this, it's been speculated about in this thread but I do not know which types are more prone to split/not split....no worry though, excellent warranty and this is rare).
Put some herb in the stem and put the stem on the nano and inhale. And, if you don't like the adjustable feature, there is a "fixed screen" option as well.
I couldn't imagine not having my nano at this point. It is simply fantastic.

How come the nano does not warm/waste herb when you are not drawing?

I think it works a lot like a solo.
Am i right?
You fill a stem and put it upside down into a ss chamber heated by ceramic.

The near distance beteeen chamber and filling in the stem warms herb in the solo even when you are not drawing.

Whats different in the nano?

@Mr.Sifter I don't know about the solo but I have had my nano for a little more than 2 weeks. It is amazing how much it extracts from a small amount. I don't have a scale yet, but let's just say that I use the amount of herb for a 1 hit bong via combustion, that same amount in my nano I can get 3 or 4 draws. It is crazy how efficient it is.

I don't leave my stem in after I draw. I take it off. I put it back on only when I draw. I noticed something that another member told me about. If I turn my nano on my desired setting, i.e. 5.5, and leave it on for at least an hour, the draws are very efficient. I am guessing that the stainless steel chamber that surrounds the heating element retains heat, and in effect the air being sucked into the stem is already pre-heated a bit before it passes through the heating element. This pretty much keeps your draws consistent and very efficient. If I just want to take a couple quick rips and the nano is not on, I just turn it up to 10 and give it about 3 minutes, turn down the dial, do the deed and turn it off again

Although I really enjoy keeping it on for long periods of time to get the benefit of instant on demand super cloud production! I hope this answer helps you. You can't go wrong with a nano imo.

Ah, you take the stem out between draws. Easy and good idea.
How long does the nano need from cold to warm up to deliver clouds from 0.1g ?

Does anyone have a quick measurement of the length of the bowl when using the epik and the diameter of the airpath of them stem?

I don't know how it works and I wondered the exact same thing.

But I usually preheat my load a few seconds and lay the nano on its side so the load doesn't fall into the heater, and on multiple occasions have come running back 20-30 min later after finally remembering and it looked exactly the same to me. No charred bits or even browning at all and the taste was the same. Maybe it does cook it a tiny bit but I was surprised myself.

Although I usually run mine 5.25-6 at the most and maybe the lower temps had a lot to do with it.

I also remove stem when not actively drawing. However, it does not cook the material unless you are drawing the hot air into the stem to heat the material. It just doesn't heat the stem enough to cause conduction heating.

Does this all apply to usung the nano upside down in a d202 bubbler?
Absolutely. It is wonderful with a bubbler should you choose. Personally, I prefer it dry as the every water piece I have ever tried robs some of the flavor, and I don't usually care for that. But it depends on the strain you are using etc.......

Can you compare solo and nano loades with the same amount of material at a similar temps, please?

Draws,
Flavour,
Clouds

And how about mighty vs nano.
Can one compare?
