Actually @1DMF, that's my only criticism, I'm used to grinding larger amount's at once....

But I'm so happy wit the quality of grind, and the feel of the grinder....

Can't wait to go home and try the coarse plate....

Got my vape gr8tr from everyonedoesit.com. It's the one with the stash on top, small holes for vapor but only one part on the bottom meaning no kief, I guess since the gr8trs have the stash on top it would be a 5 piece if it caught keif... Lol I figured I was good with 4! But it's cool cuz it's completely custamizeable, or so it says so I can grab the bottom part that catches keif at some point i think? Lol whatever this thing is great! Put 2 grams through it and it only took like 5 turns! Easiest Grinder I've ever used.

I took the plunge on this model as well. Used the code posted the other day and it came to $51 direct from Kannastor. Hope it gets here by the end of the week.

Good evening all,

I caught wind of the GR8TR when it was mentioned in another thread. Did a little reading and found it online for $65 with an extra screen. Showed up today and I really like it.

It's a bit taller than I'm used to, but it's machined well and looks nice.

Grinds like a champ!

You can always do as I have done and remove the jar section in the middle that holds the screen. That makes it the same as the Vape Gr8tr but you will still have the coarse grinding plate that is included with the jar versions but not the Vape version.

Without the jar section it is not much bigger than most "regular" grinders.

Can I ask for a measurement? I really would like a GR8TR (exchange rate is unfavorable at the moment, making it $100AUD every which way I try), but I would like it to fit inside my 70's cake tin with everything else. ;)

Edit: NVM, found the measurements on the website! Duh! Anyway, the good news is, it would fit. :)

Also, everyone is excited by the GR8TR, or the vape edition.. would their cheaper 2 piece grinders be a lot different? Is it the same but without the storage and keif collection? I'd love fluffy.. my acrylic grinder is OK.. but, I'm ever so curious. :)

GR8TR is totally different. Their regular grinders are just like <$15 offerings on Amazon and elsewhere.

I have a 3 piece 1.5 inch that works great. It is just small

Unit arrived today. Very solid. Gave it a quick wash in some warm water and dish soap, as directed. Dried it off and put a light load through it. It was smooth and easy (maybe 6 or so turns), yielding a nice and fluffy grind. I'm impressed. Think I'm gonna like this thing....

Update: in the ESV, good Lord, it sure feels like it's better than the old unit I was using.

Hey, I'm a SCS owner and can you guys give any tips on grinder maintenance? How can I clean it safely and how can I remove the flower that gets stuck everywhere in this grinder?

Also, any downsides to turning a grinder upsidedown and grinding your bud that way so it's extra fine?

@abcd5432 I almost always use mine sideways/upside down when I want a finer grind. No problem.

There are different cleaning methods but I chill and clean ;)
Put SCS in freezer for 15 mins as freezing loosens the holding power/stickiness of the ground herb.
Separate into pieces. Put clean typing paper on table. Slap SCS parts onto paper to dislodge the frozen bud so it falls onto paper. Take my S & B small brush (from Mighty, Crafty, Plenty) and brush off remaining frozen bud. Pour those bud leftovers into a vape and enjoy.

If any bud dust remains, I use Dawn detergent and warm water to soak, brush clean, rinse , dry.

Others may likely post about using ISO alcohol but I like the freeze, brush, Dawn method.
Pretty easy to keep it clean

Hey guys just need a quick answer really quick.. I finally got around to giving my small SCS an ISO Bath. How long is it good to let all 4 pieces lay in the iso before attempting to clean it with a tooth brush?

And yes, I removed the O ring! The Screen however, needs to come along for the ride!

Was going to order a GR8TR using the code on the other page, but broke my old grinder and Amazon had one for very close in price with same day shipping. This thing is huge! I bought the clear jar version and pulled it out. It made it a little shorter.

So far I've grinded up some sticky stuff and it cut it up pretty evenly and with little effort. So far, so good. I was ready to pay a little more for a nicer grinder after investing in a couple of cheaper ones that didn't last very long. I don't collect kief, so I was looking for a 3 piece. But seeing the reviews here on the GR8TR and seeing that it wasn't that much more than a higher end 3 piece, I figured I should just try it out.

I don't grind large amounts, so I was happy with my old 1.6". I originally bought a 2.5" and it was too large for me. Well, it was also cheaper and the holes were large. I had to flip it upside down to get a decent grind. I was a little nervous with the GR8TR since it was closer to my old 2.5" than the 1.6" that recently broke. Threw in around .08 grams or so and it ground it up with ease. It was pretty fluffy and the consistency was close to my old smaller grinder. I find that size works well with my Q and Air.

I'm pretty happy with the initial looks and first use. I hope it lasts.

I just wanted something simple so I ordered this. It's not exactly what I was expecting. I had seen that it had won some kinda prize during the 2015 cannabis cup somewhere. The area that the grinded cannabis sits doesnt screw into the base that holds the kief. I can see myself dropping it. I just realized its for folks that don't want the kief container all the time. That makes sense now. A fairly shallow area for the ground cannabis, not very deep.

It feels fairly light weight compared to my heavier stainless steel grinder that I got from gotvape - it says gotvspe on the lid.

Here's a picture. It's the Sharp Shredda. I didn't see it anywhere in the thread.

Looks very similar to the SLX series @CarolKing but without the ceramic coating. It is designed to use as a 3 or 4 piece but the drop in system works well for me. Where I find it handy is I grind my usual 1-1.5g & then dump it in a bowl & a single finger flick on the screen deposits any leavings in the bowl.

Can you weigh the top section & the bottom 3 sections as I expect there to be almost 50/50 weight distribution. That is one of the things I am most fond of in the SLX as the weight balance helps churn nugs like butter.

It does not interfere with kief collection either. I actually think you may be pleasantly surprised by this grinder Carol.

@Socks And Sandals you should be able to soak your grinder as long as you like in Iso without affecting the grinder. I used to do it overnight so it had plenty of soak time.
