Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

If you are referring to VXL, the adapter kit comes with a medical grade silicone tube and you choose the length. I think the options were 12", 18", 24", something like that.

Thanks for clarifying, I didn't see that it included large hoses. I'll buy that, then! :D

How many evo owners do whip tubing or does it degrade the quality?

i just realized i could get a 18 female to 14 male drop down though.

But if I do a whip tube then i can use it with any of my rigs as i have many vape whip adapters.

I use a whip and silicone tubing that I made using my old Extreme Q cyclone bowl and glass eblow. Works great

1. One hit-extraction.
I have found recently my Grasshopper to be my preferred choice for one hit extraction through my bubbler. I like to load about 0.05 in the chamber and hit this through water on maximum heat level. The good thing is, that I don't have to stir, it extracts really fine, one huge cloud, dark coffe-brown ABV.
=> Can this also be done with the Evo? I am chasing high temperature / micro dose hits and having to stir to fully extract a little amount of like 0.05 - 0.1 g would be a no-go.
Yes, EVO is totally capable of efficiently one-hitting micro-loads. With large lung capacity, you could one-hit even a bigger bowl (but that's a killer cough).
2. Turning the unit upside down.
Is it really recommended to NOT use the EVO inverted?? I can remember reading in an interview with the CEO of the company, that this would be one of the features of the EVO, being able to use it with any water pipe I already have. And I have plenty, so have there been made some changes regarding this behavior or is it still okay to use the EVO upside down for quick hits ?
No, they've just worded the caution a bit wrong. It's already fixed on their site. It just should be LEFT inverted for EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. If you want to hit it inverted through your own glass, do it. Just don't leave it there...
Leaving it there could make the heat slowly raise up and heat the electronics, which they don't like.
Also you would be at risk, that something woulnd knock it over and break your EVO. This also count for hydratubes.
It recently happened to me: I had an EVO with a hydratube, I left it for a minute unattended and a gymball in my room somehow started moving, gained momentum and knocked my EVO over, the connected hydratube broke the joint on the EVO and it's now in repair. So, don't leve the EVO connected to any glass unattended.
3. I had the chance of holding an EVO in my hands some months ago. The EVO had this neoprene sleeve on and the velcro fastener on the bottom of the unit was covering the air-intake hole. I didn't want to ask, but I am sure this must had been an user-error and not meant to be like this, correct?
Did the velcro reallyblock the airflow? I doubt it, its not a rubber plug, and the most restriction the air has to go through are the holes in the bamboo glass. Any "leaks" through that velcro strap are going to have less restriction than that, so so wouldn't notice. Also I noticed that having the velcro cover the intake helps reducing the whistling that EVO makes when you pull at certain speeds. So, the velcro over the intake is not a problem.

I have to disagree to some degree regarding the velcro strap on the neoprene cover. If you connect the velcro straps it can hamper airflow and possibly contribute to combustion. The cover can be used effectively without the velcro strap (with some small amount of sliding around) but I just got used to going without and just remembering not to grab the base unit by the top.

In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king
I love to jog/run buzzed and I go for a 'big high' for the run. So I put what would have been the equivalent of 2 one hits from my old bong days in the ELB. It's not much at all. After about 5 to 6 good hits I was ready to run or break out Dark Side of the Moon.

Finished the run and turned the EVO on for another session. I had left the last ELB in and decided to hit it again and got another 2 nice sized hits before turning it off. I had to check for combustion because I thought that was the only way it could produce even though it didn't taste burnt. There may still be another hit or two in there for all I know.

I love this vape! It can do the big cloud chase without breaking a sweat or it can efficiently extract and extend the herb like crazy.

My only complaint is that @stickstones didn't chain me to the computer and force me to buy this thing when he first suggested it. That's right - it's all his fault for allowing me to waste all that time.... not to mention my flowers. Thanks again @stickstones !!!

Well, now that I have found UK versions of this vape, that changes everything.

Just to clarify, the quality, draw, and flavor of this is superior to the Silver Surfer, correct?

Also, I am going with the standard and not the hydratube, as I have heard the water filters some of the taste?

I am also not seeing options for tubes to use? Only a glass piece?

It is twice the price of the silver surfer, but it also looks great.

Okay sweet. Found uk vendor that is selling them at pretty much the same prices you guys pay for it.

My last inquiry, should one definitely get a hydrapiece? Vapecritic said the water filtration makes it smoother but also causes it to lose some taste?

The dry pieces are meant to be in stock tomorrow, and I am planning on getting his version. And getting a hydrapiece off American ebay later on, as they are quite cheap there. If I go with the hydraversion, I could order it now, and have it tomorrow.

I read a review or two that seemed to claim the hydrapiece is what makes it special, but again, I would choose extra flavor over the smoothness given by water filtration.

If you would choose extra flavor, I say just get the dry mouthpiece for now.

If you're interested in taking lung busting rips, it'll be pretty tough to do with the dry mouthpiece. So, you'll want to eventually get an adapter kit to use with your own glass or get a Hydratube either from VXL or DH Gate. You are right though, you will be sacrificing some flavor.

Do you like bong hits?
If so, get a hydratube
I used to smoke bongs all the time and the EVO basically replicates that for me :)
The turbine HT is the one that robs the least amount of flavour

This might be a stupid question, but one can obviously just not put any water in the hydratube and just use it as a dry piece, correct?

Yeah, I love them, but I have never owned a bong, only used them at friends. Okay, I will just order the turbine one. I can get a dry piece later on, to see how different that is.

I am sure I will love it. Plus I will get it tomorrow! I've actually never vaped before, other than e cig. Making the order now.

Absolutely correct, I do it myself occasionally but usually stick with water to lessen the irritation on my throat from the dry vapours

The place I am ordering from, has all the hydratubes except for the hydraturbine. Probably just a stock issue. They are getting more stuff tomorrow, I could call to confirm if they will get the turbine. Or how is the bomb and the honeycomb? Thinking wait for the turbine if it is superior? Or is honeycomb or the other one comparable?

Vapefiend, is where i am ordering it from, and its the only place with a reasonable price in the UK. Usually, everything is so much more expensive, but thankfully, this place is not trying to rip one off.

Unfortunately the Turbine is the only HT i've tried, but the others are supposed to be smoother with different percs.

I think it's something like this:

Turbine - least diffusion
HyrdaBomb - least restriction
HydraHoneycomb - maximum diffusion

They actually did have the turbine one. I don't know why I could not see it, at one point. Well its ordered!

I have recently bought a Firefly 2, Evo, a very expensive stealth cab, and today or tomorrow a very expensive LED light. But I tell myself, it is all an investment, that will now allow be to really save money, and be self sufficient! I figure it will pay for itself very soon.

Pretty damned excited to give this a shot!

i would say yes without a doubt... Hydratubes are meant for the units......any glass works great.... hydratubes just work and pair up so nicely

BUT I would probably grab a knock off and save a few bucks

The cheaper hydra tubes I see for sale on ebay are all the ones that can be found on dhgate for even cheaper prices in case you were unaware.

DHgate has hydratubes that are cheap and awesome. Damn, I already ordered it. I didn't know you could get such insane ones for so cheap off dhgate. Should've definitely just done that, but I think it's too late. Should be here tomorrow morning. Could've saved a bit of money.

14 USD for an insane mouth piece! Oh man, almost makes me consider going through the hassle of returning and trying to order a base piece or at least the dry piece one. Would save just over 100 usd.

Even if I don't do that, I will probably order it. It doesn't cost much. Should've waited, though.

Hi malsanti, did vapefiend tell you The classic mouhpiece (dry mouthpiece kit) will be available tomorrow? That would be great news:)

Yeah, he did tell me that. He checked tracking and it is landing sometime tomorrow, and that would be reflected sometime on the website. I was planning on getting that version, perhaps i will could call and ask if i could switch it with the dry piece version, which I guess, i could get the next day. But it seems like the kinda thing that would really annoy the seller, and is just an all around pain. Wouldn't mind saving the extra money though.

The hydratubes on DHgate also come with the glass mouth rests. They also have some really funky, large ones, with extra glass pathways and cars on the side.

hydrabase got here yesterday! I know alot of people here had their doubts about the price and the quality of it. i have to say its pretty great. super thick and the perc fires evenly out of all holes, it is literally exactly the same as the older ones. I can compare cuz my buddy has one of the first ones that came out. this thing is heavy as hell and even with a hydratube on top and evo in it is very sturdy. i am personally very happy with it because it functions better for vapor than any of my other pieces. i have an american Stereo matrix clone, its like the dhgate double matrix but better because the perc has more slits because i had a local blower do it, then i have an fc-187 and also fc-ufo. I love those pieces but they really dont function as well as this thing does. this thing barely even stacks, the perc is interesting, but the open air flow and the way it evenly distributes the vapor makes for a smooth heavy hit. fact is i dont think i over payed because i wouldn't sell for 300 if someone offered right now, not even 400.. :science:

Thanks for your reply malsanti!
I am still not completely sure if I should buy the dry mouthpiece kit - like the fact that it's much cheaper and i have several 18.8mm rigs that I could use. On the other hand, using the EVO natively with hydra tube is nice, too :) I have read several negative comments about the recent hydra tubes available, so I would regret paying the extra bucks and therefore receive (maybe) bad glass?
So, I tend to buy the dry mouthpiece and use the EVO inverted.

QUESTION:

When using the EVO inverted on a 18.8mm rig, is there a chance that the herb basket will fall out? Or - if not - when i only load tiny amounts into the ELB, won't inverting the unit cause the little herb amount to "fall on top" of the ELB and therefore get less heat? I do not want to use the whip adapter kit.

thanks :)
