For harsh vapor cooling is not the only answer, moisture plays a big part in reducing harshness. Surprisingly lukewarm water works better for some. Just extending the stem or using a Solo stem greatly reduces temps. So many options, try them all.

I have used the PVES stems, but is their a specific one I should get to turn this into a bubbler or water vaporizer?

Your plastic topped Air stem fits 14mm GonG connectors, you might start there? From there any number of WTs can be used. The PNWT/F-Bonb being very popular, the D-20 from DH Gate is also very popular with folks.

Very good point, IMO at times the moisture is more important than cooling. A damp pipe cleaner stuffed down the factory stems can demonstrate this. ThermoVape sold just such a moisturizer ('TrueFlow IIRC), it only held a few drops of water (had to be filled often) but it did a great job at times.

Good luck in finding a good solution, sounds like you're on the right track.

What about the Vortex stem from planet vape. I have the one made for the Solo. It has an extended length. It's an inch longer than the Solo stem. It's not stealth but it does a good job of cooling the vapor. I have a hard time with the AA being somewhat harsh if I'm not on the lowest heat.

Here's a j hook. That cools the vapor with no water needed.

This is a whip made with wood adapter and WonG.

Hello my old friends, I must admit, when all is said and done, the AA relaxes me more than anything other vape experience . From awesome stock stems, to the feel of it in my hand, I am falling back in love with hassle free.

Have 2 blacks and one Titanium, I use titanium all the time. I'd never purchase anything but.

Hello again.
I just want to report that lately I'm using some LG CHEM HE4 batteries on my Air.
( LGDBBHE41865 ,2.5V Cut-Off,2500mAh ,20A cont. )

-Noticeable faster heating & somewhat thicker clouds .
Those are the two differences I 've noticed - so far -comparing with the stock battery .
But I've noticed also ,that the LG CHEM HE4 batteries need longer times to charge ,
than the stock battery ....

Hassle free is the right term for this wonderful device.

- No smell afterwards
- Perfect bowl size for 1 person - especially for being out and about, when I want to stay communicative
- Super cheap replacement batteries available almost everywhere
- Looks like an e-cig if you just act confident enough
- Gets the job done in a supreme way

My desktop Da Buddha has better flavor and better vapor production - > but that's apples n oranges.
The Arizer Air beats the Pax 2 (that I got super cheap 2nd hand) in a lot of ways.

It's just a work horse. Don't let you fool by all the fancy bells n whistles of some of the other manufacturers.

:leaf:

BTW: I'm not having any issues with the airflow of the stock stems. I was concerned about that prior to my purchase. Turned out to be just good the way it is.

And I especially love to use it for some bubble hash! Taste persists much longer, and gives you a little clearer high. Works perfectly if you just press the hash onto a small pipe screen and then put that into the herb chamber.

You articulated what is really the tipping point for me with other vapes. I can't stay fully engaged and I feel like all I'm doing is vaping, and others around me get the the same impression. Air is just in my hand, part of it.

I have 3 Airs. Use OEM batts only. I saw the suggestion on LGs and realized they were my Milaana batts and I have 10. Popped one in my AA3, all else the same, here's what happened.

Noticeably faster heat up
Not hotter, but seems to be MORE heat
Possibly cooler, smoother because more reserve heat means more draw control
Taste better because of above
Extraction steadier, a bit more even
Will comment later on batt life

If these batts hurt my unit I'll report back!

A friend of mine just bought an air and she had a few questions? how much herb in a single load? how tight should the herb be packed? are there any water options for it? how many sessions with a full charge? Thanks

There is a "best of" thread above that will give you a feel for how to enjoy the Air. There is also an Air user
guide produced by @Bravest. You can look for one of his posts (3 above this one) and the link is in his signature.

Thanks Sickman that was very helpful. Due to medical reasons I was not prepared or willing to spend a lot of time reading and neither was she. I've used solo's for 4 1/2 years and could have answered all her questions if that would have been her purchase.

Got my air out last night to try with some crumble...i packed the walls of the stem and set the temp to red. I basically just stuck the wax to the edges of the stem so when I stick it down it should just melt immediately. It wasn't bad but since it only goes to 410F it can't clear a dab in a hit or 2..

Wonder what? 'Will it protect the owner from competitors'? I seriously doubt it. If it 'describes a great vape or improvement'? That might be but the proof is in the testing I think, lots looks better on paper than in the hand.

You can patent darn near anything, they're happy to take your money, but it's up to you to defend that patient. I've 'been there'.

For Patent protection to work the idea has to be novel, that is 'not something readily apparent to those skilled in the field'. From what I see I'm confident challengers could easily demonstrate that key features were already common fare for vape makers let alone other technicians and engineers who work with devices that heat samples to emit vapors? Sometimes called 'prior art'. Lots of patents on vapes already out there, too. I was told by the guys at Thermovape that their lawyers could find no useful patent protection for most of their stuff and it's sure a LOT different than most. And they put some serious bucks into the effort.

You can also be dead right, with a solid patent to protect you and go down in flames......and bankruptcy. There's no law against 'jumping a guy's patent', you have to have sue them. And that could be someone like Joytech who has more resources than many countries.

I worked with a fellow years ago who started a company in Japan with two friends right after the Navy. They invented and patented in many countries a game called "Golf In". A large booth with a 35mm projector and film strip of say Pebble Beach every ten yards. First AstroTurf I ever saw came from the floor, he had a piece in his souvenir box. The screen was made of one inch strips with a ball trap behind it, you'd 'hit your golf ball down the fairway' using your own Driver. Light traps measured the speed of the ball, calculated the range, blanked the screen, racked off the right number of frames and showed you the new position as it returned your ball. You could read the range to the pin on a display, change clubs and go again. The light traps were in a Vee shape so hooks and slices read slow and incur a range penalty.

Golf courses were very rare and very popular in Japan (go figure), they made seven booths which were extremely popular (courses would take reservations for play.......). They geared up to make production units and Bally (the pin ball guys) jumped them. Four years later they won, Bally was prohibited from making similar games but they were bankrupt. No more Golf In. Bally locked out a competitor that could have been trouble for them in other markets (wise, Jim and his buds were discussing 'what next', including what became video games......).

Made a great entry on his Resume: "Was intimately involved in all steps from conception through bankruptcy". He was a 'soft head' (programmer) when I knew him, fun guy, once proposed we streamline production planning by computing the average stock number....... I think AIDS got him in the end.

I'd stay clear of it, unless it becomes a great vape of course. Could be a bad horse to back with your hard earned money.

I was just wondering ,if that is the actual patent behind the Air ...
:ugh:...

Anyway ..
Or rather " meanwhile " ...
I'm designing my new Air stem ...

Is going to be a three-part stem ...
xray_zpsyp4iey6q.jpg

#1 The Bowl : Made out of Titanium (Grade 2 ) .
~ 2cm in length with 1 cm being usable as herb chamber and the rest 1cm serving as threading.
dim_zpsqv7xguex.jpg

#2 The Joint : Made out of - heat resistant & non-toxic/inert - polymer
(PTFE/ Pure Teflon or Zytel FG101L as candidate materials here ),
in order not to conduct heat to the mouthpiece.
stem_zpsnmimkpu1.jpg

#3 The Mouthpiece : Made out of Exotic Wood / Titanium / Niobium .
metal_zpsnbivnog2.jpg

Additional (titanium) washers installed between the bowl and the joint-at the threaded part of the joint ,
will serve as spacers ,increasing the herb load capacity of the stem.

I broke a few adapter's today even.

I've had this CHILLUM for a long time a paid $5.00 for it.

You made be realize it's time for a WOOD STEM in the SOLO.

I'm sporting LEMON LARRY OG with this trial!
Don't worry, I managed to break my dropdown earlier today! Knocked my piece off the small side table I have, and thankfully it was just the dropdown and not my piece too. Now I need a new one!

@stardustsailor good ideas!! I see you making the mouthpiece end separate to be a good idea. Easy to customize and replace if needed! I'm not entirely familiar with Ti in this application (only in nails and wire), would the Ti mouthpiece draw too much heat from the heater making it work hard like other metal stems do? Perhaps if it were a bit thinner it would be better with the heat and still retain the... hardness of Ti? I don't know what to call it but it'll still be pretty damn strong even thin right? Being able to add washers to the middle part to make the bowl bigger is a great idea though. Interesting approach to the "adjust-a-bowl" concept.:nod::nod::clap::clap::clap:
