My MJ Journey

Ok my body had about as much as it can take on T break and my solo is kind of a PITA to use especially when my tremors kick in so i bit the bullet and used part of a gift card to get another Solo. I was debating the AIR but im a low temp vaper and it doesnt have the diversity i need. I was hoping for something smaller but oh well.

In reading reviews for the AIR i may have found my future 420 splurge item. The Ascent is looking like my possible purse vape. I like that its self contained rather than having a carry case and bag for stems and herb in my purse. I could just load it and leave it like the MFLB. Also nice it doesnt look like im carrying a can of red bull lol the burl appeals to me and since i plan to be more "out" in my use im less concerned by stealth. Temp control and ease of use look good to me but i do need to do my reading and research on it.

My MFLB is falling out of favor since the accidental combustion flavor wont leave and it makes me cough as if i were combusting even at low temps. Not great when im nauseous and barely holding down fluids. So a portable with all glass path is very enticing to me.
I'm a medical cannabis person.
I hate portables for me personally.
The SOLO is practical to me. (low temp)

Now some have a completely different need.

Once you find your need CANNABIS (the right kine for your needs) is ideal.

@GenYHippie sorry to hear life has been shitty to you.
Stay strong & Be positive

I know I hated hearing everyone saying that to me , its very important to stay in a good mental place fuck negativity& fuck everyone who thinks they know whats best for you.
Nobody knows what you need more than you.
Im still barely talking to some freinds and family. Fuck em.....
Hope yo find some peace and comfort.

Sending white light & vapor clouda your way.

Thank you @Melting Pot its hard but i keep trying to center back to what gives me best quality of life and the rest is their issue not mine.

Well ive been cautious in my optimism but after a few months of trial and error ive officially eliminated 1 dose of my anti emetic rx per day! Considering ive been on a dose of 4 per day of just this one medication for over 5 years. Ive already reduced or eliminated the other ati emetics so gaining progress in getting off this last one is nice. The big turning point was getting into the concentrated oils for sure. Its so nice not having to wake up in the middle of the night to take something just so i dint wake up puking. The oils have been effective and longer lasting . The last 2 weeks ive actually just forgotten to take my rx its fantastic!

Now if i could gain progress on sleep again that would be awesome ive really developed a tolerance in that way. What i used to vape before bed is not my all day strain no grogginess at all. So back into the stash to experiment. Still need to get my solo back its much more efficent when im trailing strains.

Score points for the ebay retailer i get my solo from. Mine went out barely a month after i got it with health stuff getting worse ive been distracted (mostly bed bound) and only just sent it off last week. They got it Friday afternoon, tested it, and emailed me right back they would be sending me my replacement under warranty! Hope all is well with the new one when it arrives. I miss it alot. I love my davinci ascent for oils and its great in my purse being self contained but ive found i much prefer the solo for bud home use. Mainly due to having multiple stems since i never finish a bowl in a session so its nice being able to switch out easily,

I like the MFLB at first. Like you it tasted bad after 4 months.

Now I want the MEDICINE to provide both!

FLAVOR/EFFECT = CIVILIZED MEDICINE!

In CANADA they have this doctrine about "T-BREAKS"?

I would die without CANNABIS?

Is there some kind of facts on T-BREAKS?
Maybe it's a cult practice?

I just noticed as i need more and higher doses to get the same effect a T break helps. I can go 2 days without cannabis when i have to and even with that its more effective when i go back. So since cannabis is an expensive health expense with no coverage i try to keep my doses low but effective. Ive often had to stretch a gram for a month of use. So when my dose is creeping up and i can afford the extra down time i take a T break. Sets me back on track for dose and my budget. Especially now that ive taken to more expensive things like oils budget is important so i can afford to variety i need to have best quality of life.

I would die to do a T break?
One gram a month?

I need one gram a day!
Growing is easy in CALIFORNIA.

I use a strain that is low in THC for a T Break. (I guess)
I have as daily ritual.

Changing VAPORIZERS or strains helps.

T BREAK to me sound like so kind of CULT? (empirical evidence)?

Let's hope we have legalization so price will drop to $38/once?
The quality will be more consistent as well.

30 grams a month will help a lot of people.

When I was a YOUNG GUN 1/4 pound a week was normal!

T break = UNCIVILIZED

Morning = SATIVA
Afternoon = HYBRID
Evening = INDICA
SHATTER all the time!

The last T-break I had was a year ago in June when I was in France for a month. I found that I didn't sleep as well and felt more emotional for the first week, but after that felt just fine. But I microdose with about 0.1gm per day. Medicating to just the effect needed/required will keep one's dose fairly low. Once someone has lost control of their dosing and consumes a gram or more per day (as many "recreational" users do) it will be more difficult to take a t-break without suffering some withdrawal effects. Overdosing - whatever that means for each individual - will cause CB1 receptors to shutdown and the number of receptors actually is decreased. This is what "tolerance" is and it's called downregulation of CB1 receptors.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3223558/
"After ~4 weeks of continuously monitored abstinence from cannabis on a secure research unit, CB1receptor density returned to normal levels. This is the first direct demonstration of cortical cannabinoid CB1 receptor downregulation as a neuroadaptation that may promote cannabis dependence in human brain."

What illness do you have?
Was the paper made by the DEA?

I don't know where you grew up?
In CALIFORNIA and HAWAII where I grew up as recreation we always had a 1/4 pound.
As my life became CORPORATE I was straight for 3 decades.
In VERSAILLES - FRANCE (1/1990 - 10/1994) I learned to drink wine.
TOBACCO and CANNABIS mixture was gross to me that they did in EUROPE?

1. I have prostate cancer. Robotic prostatectomy done in Jan 2014 didn't get all the cancer so I had to have Radiation Treatment for 8 weeks and 6 months of Lupron injections (a testosterone suppressing hormone, because prostate cancer cells thrive in a testosterone rich environment - in men ;-) ) Unfortunately I still have prostate cancer cells roaming my body, though no tumors are detectable (yet.) I tried a 4 month trial of cannabis oil extract from Dec to April and while it slowed down the rate of PSA (prostate specific antigen) increase, it didn't halt it, let alone totally suppress it.

2. What paper are you referring to? The linked article? Doesn't matter. The truth is that CB1 receptors get overloaded and are "downregulated" which essentially puts them out of commission and makes you feel like you need more cannabis to get the same level of elevation. It's a scientific fact independent of the DEA/NIDA/FDA position on prohibition.

3. I grew up in Palo Alto Calif and still live on the SF Peninsula. I smoked cannabis frequently from '65 to '72, took LSD about 30 times along with mescaline, peyote, DMT, and some cocaine. I learned TM in '72 and my drug use was very minimal for the next 40 years. I went to nursing school in the mid-70's and became a healthcare professional. Worked as a bedside RN in critical care (ICU, CCU, ER) for almost 20 years. Then I worked as a Clinical Systems Analyst for almost 20 yrs. In the 60's I'd get Panama Red, Columbian Gold, Michoacan and mexican brick weed by the kilo and sell off lids by the oz. That's how I made my living for most of the year 1969.

4. I was "straight" for 37 years until I got prostate cancer near the end of my worklife and began to investigate the evidence for medical cannabis, was convinced, and got my letter of recommendation and began to vape in March 2014.

5. I took a wine appreciation class in 1985 after the birth of my second child and collected wine, mostly red from Calif, for the next almost 30 years. I don't drink much alcohol now that I consume cannabis, but still have about 8 cases of wine on-hand at any given time.

6. I agree - tobacco and cannabis flower mixture is repellant to me too. I haven't smoked a cigarette for over 30 years, but will take a draw on a joint in a social situation if offered to me and I don't have my vaporizer. I find that 3 good hits on a joint is all I need/want, whereas it takes 5-6 hits on my vaporizer to get the same dose of THC/CBD (0.10gm or less)

Please Don't misunderstand me?

My buddies made fun of me for VAPORIZING. One gram a day was very little. 4 grams a day for a recreational user.

When I hear 1 gram a month I find it shocking.
In HAWAII a lid (once was a three day supply)
A gram a day I thought was little.

I have SCA (ataxia) my cerebrum is shrinking.
You have a cure?

We all have different baseline tolerances, and different needs to attain the best wellness state possible. Sorry, I don't mean to come across judgmental. A gram a day may be wholly inadequate for some people. Back in the day I went through an ounce per week. But of course it was only 2-10% THC. Most of what I now get is in the 18-25% range now. And I don't seek to get stoned, rather to an elevated and increased state of wellness.

I get jelous of what you guys have available out in the mid-west and west coast. I live out in Massachusetts and just received my card and suffer from very bad fibromyalgia. So I'm in the experimental stages of finding out what works for me regarding pain managment. Currently taking about 50mg of vicodin a day and cant wait to be done with it. I just feel that with such few options out in the Eest Coast I'm looking at a much longer time frame to come up with a pain management solution becuase of the limted products avalable to the community out here in the east coast

Liked the video very much..... I particularly liked the first speaker, #7.

Thanks for posting this. Not at all sure what it has to do with MMJ, but I still found most of these segments enlightening.

Cheers

First , the Gong for the Solo is needed for the style water tool I use.

Borrowed this pic, mine doesn't have so many bowl/attachments hanging from it.
Simply the Solo to Solo Gong to Water Pipe.

In the picture here, look at the main/large tube. The bottom is filled with water, then the glass in pinched to accommodate ice over the water. I used it for a long time with just water, but once I tried ice on top, never looked back! (Crushed ice provides max cooling!)

Hope this helps!!!

Been a very long time. With my worsening medical issues affecting my finances and having to travel for medical treatment using MJ got to be to risky and not feasible to continue. But with California going recreational and capping some fee's for medical users ill be able to have my medicine again! No more plans for out of state care and no federal facilities offering what Id need i should be in the clear to use regularly now.

Hoping desperately to get back to the relief I experienced before. I know ill still have ALOT of medical prejudice to deal with testing positive but screw them. In the time ive been off MJ ive gotten drastically worse and they've made zero significant moves to help me anyway. Id rather be considered "non compliant" and feel better.

I never had an issue with Vapor irritating the throat till the last round of sore throat/cold that was going around. Now I understand what's up with throat irritation and vaping. (For giggles, well actually for pain, tried vaping dry, with water, then with water & ice..... the water & ice combo made vaping with a sore throat much more tolerable!)
Circling back on this post, warm/hot water is far more soothing to vape through!!!!

Well it's been a long long time! As per usual my body gave out on my in spectacular fashion. This time spinal cord damage and severe lung issues (possibly pandemic related but pre testing Era). It's taken me nearly 3 years to crawl out from under that rock and try to get back to my medicine.

I was too ill to accept delivery even if I could have afforded it. Much less prepared any edibles since my lungs are shot for even a gentle vape.

I've got alot of reading to do but I'll post my intention to here while I research. Need a fast no odor decarb and infuse so I think ill try the sealed pressure cooker and jar method with my fingers Crossed it works.

I hope to make chocolates with the infused coconut oil first. Thinking maybe 1 gram per oz of oil? My flower is less than fresh so I'm guessing ill get mostly CBN? Either way any reprieve from pain is welcome even if it's only sleep

Hey GYH; epic thread, damn- sorry to hear of your troubles :(

Have you seen this thread? It's enormous, but I learned a *ton* about tincture prep and a bunch of other interesting details:

No I hadn't. Thank you very much! I don't spend much time browsing outside of DC good to have another resource. I've got a tab open I'll peruse as I wait for my canning Lids to arrive

Well life intervenes, haven't made the oil yet :(. But in keeping hope alive by browsing recipes to use it in.

I think this sounds decadent but easy enough. Use the canna coconut oil in chocolate portion.
