I'm gonna try sticking the steamroller in the freezer when I get it today or tomorrow. Should be like a frozen beer mug experience?

It'll give you cold vapour for a while but will quickly warm up. I love my DIY ice chamber for a similar effect, only the ice adds moisture to the vapour making it smoother.

It also might not be the best idea to be exposing the glass to a large temperature shock like that.

i mostly use it as my water tool these days. no ice, just water. it definitely stopped my coughing using ice but i think i got less high. i'll have to try it again with ice one of these days.


a huge vapor quality boost.



my herbie should be in later on thursday! since i've been reading up so much on the herbie, i've been vaping a lot more than usual. i read a good post and fill up the balloon.

...have to agree with winegums...not sure putting steamroller in freezer a good idea...but then I never really got the ice thing...but that's me...

From experimenting with all temps/methods, IMO ice or extreme cooling is "going the wrong direction" from the best tasting, most effective, most efficient, easiest on the the throat/lungs vapor qualities.

The #1 "NEED" of all vapor is "MOISTURE" as it is all very very very dry. Maximum moisture addition is best provided by warm/hot water: the warmer the water, the more moisture transfer to the vapor.
Warm/hot water bubbler, with very small diffusion, very small can gives by far, the highest quality vapor---super super easy on the throat and lungs. Often the vapor even feels/tastes soothing / the opposite of harsh vapor.

The "cold treatment" cools the vapor but moisture transfer is WAY less than thru warm/hot water AND
colder water causes more vapor to condense out as it goes thru the water that is extremely cold.
Vapor thru hot water, has much less temp difference so way less condenses out.

Smoke needs cooling as it starts out 500 F hotter than vapor.
Vapor starts out 500 F less than smoke so cooling needs are much less

My top 3 choices are:
1. vapor thru hot water
2. vapor thru warm water
3. vapor thru room temp water

Just my strong opinion after experimenting and the physics laws explain why.

I'm not sure about cloud production at the moment, but damn, that taste. And all of this took place in about the time it took my EVO to warm up?

...nice explanation minnbobber..all I know is I've had friends who utilized ice in their procedure...and needless to say I did it with them...(just that type of guy)....never saw where it did anything for me..

They should've had this steamroller on release day of herbie. It blows any adapter + hydratube out of the water, and forget the bags and whip lol. If anyone gets the steamroller they will not regret it.

....agree 100%...couldn't believe how superior it is to the other methods...my bag days maybe over..

So how would you describe the SteamRoller perc?
How many holes/slits etc/ what amount of diffusion?

I had looked at pics and was puzzled.
It looked like the perc was several big holes in the intake.
Is that right?
Any pics of SteamRoller in action, what kind of action does it have then, fewer number of big bubbles??

....not a water pipe man....no bubbles...as I said earlier I haven't posted in years...so...I forgot how to post pictures..will reacquaint my self later and put some up...if nobody beats me to it...

It has 4 sets of 2 holes each set in a corkscrew pattern. It is thick like the PNWT but twice as long almost. It makes 445 degree vapor cool, smooth, and tasty! It pretty much kicks 1,000,000 asses! Check it out..
All I need now Herbalizer is one BADASS case for Herbie, the Steamroller, cord, and 4 bags. Molded velour interior with a hard shell exterior please and thank you!

So if the steamroller is NOT used with water, what is its purpose? How can it improve airflow given all vapor still comes out of the same tiny hole in the chamber?

This is what I keep getting held up on. What exactly does this do to warrant an additional $150?

...well that's a more subjective question...all I can tell you, (as a user) is that I find the addition of the steamroller really improves and enhances the herbie experience...and I wasn't unhappy before...but this is better....by a lot.

I'm sure the steamroller cools down the vapor fine with all that glass to cool against. It would be like hitting the Evo with a dry HT...very smooth!

...I believe (although I have no proof)...I am NOT employed by herbalizer....that this shows that the herbalizer can be open to additional methods of vaping...this definitely opens the door for future water tools...by herbalizer...but I have no inside knowledge of this...pure conjecture....but I'm probably wrong...I thought reagan would never be elected president too...

I know a lot of people have migrated to SSV tubing with a water pipe, or even Ratchet's SonG adapter and a hydratube. Does anyone have the Steamroller and can give a comparison to other glass pieces they've used?

Might sound weird but try putting the whip into the hydratube. Herbalizer doesn't create ultra thick vapor like the Evo (no metal basket and less radiative heat) but it can do massive clouds once it gets going. For some reason whips into hydratube or bubblers get me much bigger clouds then the hydratube right on top of the Herbalizer. I think it's because the vapor needs time to pool up in a chamber --it move out of the bowl very quickly, so with a direct draw situation it might appear to be thin vapor.

Agreed about the whip! I can milk the shit out of my bubbler with the whip attached to it!

I don't have the steamroller and I'm sure it's awesome if you're looking for a dry piece. However 150$ is very steep, that's easily 3-4 really solid DHgate pieces that will give you more variety, and in my experience direct draw from herbie w dry MP or direct hydratube is less preferable than a bubbler / bong set up

i took a nap and the pot farries left herbie.

10 minutes later i did my first bag. a few minutes later i did my second bag. i never do 2 bags of the same bowl full with my extreme Q because it's too harsh. this was very oddly not harsh. 377 for the first bag, 392 for the second.
i can also shove a whip from my iceborn water tool into the bag and it works great.

i've already been high for hours today so i won't be giving it a good going over until wake and vake tomorrow at 3 a.m. ish.

it sucks waking up that early but with cable, games and the interwebs, i keep pretty entertained. yes, i'm divorced!




i was thinking of cleaning the house today, then put it off until tomorrow. i just got a message saying i like to clean the house at 375 degrees.


just loaded another bowl, about .1 each bowl, and used the whip. i don't take huge hits anymore so it was fine for me. the tip also fits into my zeus iceborn.

i realize i'm high but how long does it take for the thing to cool off once the lid is closed? 5 or so minutes after i closed the hood, the bowl was kind of hot and i dropped it on the table in case it was hotter than i thought.

do you guys leave the lid open until it cools off or do you close it in between bowls?

the first of many edits i'm sure:

with my Q, i would load .1, load the bag once, and toss the ABV. vaping it again at the same temp would have done nothing and vaping at higher temps tastes terrible. well, as you guys know, i'm not having that problem with this thing.

i vaped a bag at 388 and took out the bowl. then awhile later, i revaped the same bowl at the same temp and i got a lot of smooth vapor. so now my ABV is only a bit ABVed.

i'm very high but i've done .5 of a gram of 3 different genetics. i'm taste testing them all. all 10 of them

i'm also taking much bigger hits without a hint of coughing or needing to use my water tool.

i just tried .05 gram. i got 2 bags at 385. both tasted nice and the exhales had a lot of vapor. . i'm saving the ABV for later tonight.

i'm vaping way too much.


having used turkey and chicken bags for a couple years, these bags are decent quality. i'm going to use them until they start to leak or get sticky then i'll figure out how to set up my volcano solid valve stuff.
