Torch/Butane Powered Vapes

Hey all!
I've been in the process of quitting smoking with the help of an E-cig, and its got me thinking I may as well vape my herb too, for Health sake. Im struggling financially so it would have to be a good price, like $50 or so, and Id like to stick to butane/torch powered vapes, just bc they're simple with less parts to break. Ive seen the vapman, Vaponic, Lotus, vape lifter, Ubie, and of course the vapor genie.

So has anyone had experience with any of these? or anything like these? I was also trying to find a decent 510 threaded atomizer I could use for DH but they are a bit pricey... if anyone has anything I should check out or has experience with any of the above, Id appreciate the help! Im probably going to end up making one if I cant find anything

Greetings!

My personal favorite butane powered vaporizer is the Dynavap Vapcap (I like the Titanium Woodie edition, but the OG is great for the price).

The sweet thing about the vapcap is that it clicks when it reaches a certain temperature (the final vaping temperature depends on where you applied heat to the cap - closer to the clicker is lower temp, further away is higher temp).

I was also trying to find a decent 510 threaded atomizer I could use for DH but they are a bit pricey..
Sorry to tell you there really aren't any good 510 threaded atomizers on the market. There are several DIY options on the market, but most "dry herb" atomizers are useless and not worth the money

I have a lot of these, Butane vapes are fun. The Vapman is a really nice ritualistic vape. Just bought the Lotus and starting to get the hang of Vapcap. And If you just want a home vape to blast your head check out @StickyBricks , It's a Daisy type butane vape that will blow your head off!

If cost is an issue and the one you want costs too much look around on the forums for something used, I just picked up a Lotus for $75 and less than that for my Vapman. None of the 510 threaded stuff is good for flower, BUT if you use concentrates there are plenty of great ones.

That was what I figured, I had heard they either combust or dont get hot enough. what kind of DIY options do they have on the market?

I watched a review on that earlier and I thought it was effin dope! Does anybody else make a knockoff? lol it just seems like I could make something similar to that without the click function for next to nothing. Ive always prefered to make something if I can instead of buying it, I guess it stemmed from living 30min away from anywhere, it wasnt easy to convince Dad to spend an hour and some change for whatever part I needed for whatever project, so I got resourceful.

Thanks! I really like the Sticky Bricks, but I think it was like $150. Im going to check around for something used, It looks like thats my best bet as far as flower.... as far as concentrates, im all set with vapes there lol when I could buy it I had an RDA that I would keep built just for dabs. an SS mesh wicked rda is the closest ive come to a nail as far as production. I actually just got my cute lil blast tube from Dandlco in the mail today, so its time for a wax build on one of my rda's... Im exited to try TC dabbing since I got some SS316L, I can always just throw it on a mech or another mod and vape wattage.

There are DIY options better than most production portables however. Pipes also sometimes sells his "Project" vaporizer. Its excellent, vapor in 2-3 seconds. Someone with ecig and TC mod familiarity would have no issue I'm sure.

That said my personal preference still lies in butane, my current favorites are the Vapor Genie, Lily and Vapman. The vapcap OG is a good budget option, but it rarely sees use among my other units.

You're right, I mis-spoke. I have read that thread and it looks very promising! I just ordered 2x VTC Minis and some more good 18650 batteries for my ceramic attys, I would be down to try this out with those!

I really love my vapman, but I think the Lotus is going to really take a spot in my rotation as well. You won't stop with just 1 anyway so just pick one and god help you when the VaS set in. Haha

At 30 bucks for theoriginal it would hardly be worth the effort to do a knock off, i reckon.

If you wanted to try a diy butane vape, something like the Peace by triihouse looks like a pretty simple one to start on. I think it was that thread that someone actually did make their own, and the maker of the Peace commented and gave some tips.

I love the Vaporgenie. Can be a really big hitter and has that smoking vibe.

Vapcap also has a great ritual. I like using it more than the vapor genie, but i find the effects aren't as strong (although I seem to be in the minority in this view, so it's probably something about the vape signature that doesn't click as well)

Vaponic is a solid vape (unless you drop it)...more convection OR more conduction depending on how you use it.

Vapman is awesome, but out of your price range (put your name down for the vapman 10th anniversary competition )

I haven't tried the others, but i think you are right to go butane vapes if you are trying to ween off smoking. The high temp, near black ABV type sessions, most closely emulate the smoking effect, and butane vapes generally allow you to go close to the line.

Good luck.

I am a huuuuge vapman fan. I own two. My cat stole half of one. I'm still trying to find it. My other is in safe keeping but my Solo has been getting a lot more time while I try and find the vapman. I have had lots of butane vapes (iolite, lily, lotus) the Vaoman is second to none. or even third to none.

You can save money and get the basic one without the mica shield for less $

I prefer my vapcap over my vapman for simplicity and it's smaller and easier to carry around.

I don't think you can go wrong with a vapcap tbh.

$30 for one of the best butane vapes on the market imo is a no brainer.

...knockoffs! !@@?

Who the fuck wants one of those?

They're $30?!?!?!?
How's quality compared to vapman?

I prefer my og vapcap over my basic vapman.

Quality of what exacly.. build/vapor?

Clearly more work goes into making a vapman but personally I white out my bubbler easier with my OG vapcap.

I actually find my glass vapcap to provide a cleaner taste also then the wooden vapman.

And the vapman is a bastard to clean compared to the vapcap.

Both are superb vapes.

I have a few butaine vapes. Vapcap, Lotus, Vapor Genie, Gn0me, and probably more I'm forgetting.

Of them, the only two I enjoy using are the vapcap and the lotus.

And if I had to choose a butane vape as my only vape it would be the lotus, without question. It's incredibly powerful instant convection blows everything else out of the water.

Almost there...
For me the king of butane vapes would be the Supreme 3!
Huge, thick hits that mimic bong hits.
Has a temp gauge so you have a basic idea of the temp you are vaping at.
Requires a fairly large torch to heat the exchanger and that is it's only downfall for me and it is not anything that stops me from using it all the time!

Check it out here:

That's a good thing to be frugal for! But I wasn't talking about the car Lotus silly. That's a Jag right? My aunt has that car. I'm Shopping for a Lexus GS-F sport to replace my current GS350 now!

I like LEXUS however my Dad is a JAG guy so my brother and I get his hand me downs every couple of years.
No payments is kind of cool.

I love my LOTUS vaporizer however my wife put it where I can't find it?

I use my EVO and NANO until I find my LOTUS.

I fucking LOVE my butane vapes! Just got the Lotus in last night and it's been killer! Power went out about an hour ago and I'm off work early so it's time for a Butane vape out! The Lotus, Vapman, Daisy, Vapcap, and Hammer pro out to play!

I'd recommend StickyBricks or finding a daisy/lily, but those are pricier and for under $50 you will love the $30 og vapcap. The thread is awesome, the posters are awesome, the company is awesome, the employees are awesome, the owner/inventor/founder/vapologist is awesome, and most importantly the vape is awesome. I apologize for saying awesome so many times, but the shoe fits.

The vapcap ti woody or vong are made from beautiful wood by Ed. Not only does that make them sturdy but it isn't that easy to DIY given the quality of Ed's work. They are both under $100. If you end up liking the vapcap you may end up adding to it. This is the first truly modular vape out there so you end up with multiple ways to use it.

Vapman is by far my favourite butane vape - for so many reasons.... But the Vaponic is pretty awesome, and very reasonably priced - it offers great flavour. If I were on a real tight budget, and couldn't wait to save up a little more for a Vapman, that's what I'd go for.

Just received my Vapman a few days ago. i was stuck between it and the Lotus. Lotus I would've had to purchase from the U.S. meaning exchange rate, duties and taxes, so i passed on it for now. Vapcap has been making some noise... If yall don't mind, i would love to hear more info/pros and cons/comparisons of these three butane vapes. especially Lotus vs. Vapman. Alot of ppl lean heavily to one side or the other and i can't find many comparisons between the two on the net.
Thanks

My first vape was the Vapman. I have the Lotus now too and the OG Vapcap. The three are excellent vapes. You can't lose with any of them.

Things depend on how you use them (dry or water pipe) and how fully you like to extract. I like to extract as much as possible and get up to the edge of combustion.

If you like to use your vape dry - Vapman and OG Vapcap are better, in my opinion. With Vapman and the Vapcap I use a string of 2 or 3 MFLB glass stems connected with a small piece of MFLB silicone tubing in between each stem for vapor cooling. I find the Vapman needs the vapor cooling more than the Vapcap. The Vapman is a little treasure of a vape - the craftsmanship adds to it somehow and it hits very well through the string of glass stems.

If you like to use a waterpipe - the Lotus shines. The Vapman is also great through a waterpipe. I personally don't usually use the Vapcap through the waterpipe, but others do. I find the Vapcap is great dry - providing the coolest vapor of the three dry. But I also like to use the string of MFLB glass stems with the Vapcap occasionally. The Vapcap is the best out of the three for a portable for me due to it's compactness. The Vapman is second best and the only one of the three that you can hide in your hand while using - so it is more stealthy in some cases.

But yes, I noticed that the Lotus is particularly better through a water pipe. It's meant for it. Through the stem it works well, but since you suck the air through it while heating, it is a bit more likely to irritate your throat, especially if you like to really extract it thoroughly like I do. Through a water pipe you don't have to worry about the throat irritation and heat as much and you can just take it to it's limits. Through a water pipe it's like it's a sports car and you have a wide open freeway and you can now hit the gas hard. Through the stem it's driving your sports car through a suburban neighborhood. The Vapman also benefits from the waterpipe, but the Lotus hits just a bit harder since the heatplate is bigger and the bowl is bigger.
