Hey Mike that's great! Did you take the mouth piece off and clean it? That really helps and also look into screen removal completey to really improve draw restriction. Glad it's working better for you bud!

Something strange just happened... I picked my FF2 up and decided to take a toke...i pushed the two buttons to activate and nothing would happen....no green light..as if it had a dead battery...i switched batteries out and ..it worked fine...Hmmmm...i put back the original battery and it works fine.....Why was the green light not activating??? Is it bad to leave the FF2 on the charger all day when not in use???

Don't leave it charging once it's fully charged.

That's probably not the issue with your dead battery though. I've had some quirky battery behavior, including what you described. Not sure what causes it, but it's usually been on a partially-charged or partially-depleted battery.

Thought I read that you should keep it on the charger when not in use... Hmmmm Wait...i t had been off the charger about 4 hours.... i will start depleting my charges before recharging.....

I have also had some unusual battery stuff happen. I haven't used the cradle in some time, but when it was done charging, the light would turn red rather than blue. I've also had the battery "die" earlier than it should. It doesn't really die though. Like @Pharoh said, it would work fine after I put it back on the charger. I had it happen once on a completely fresh battery. I put it back on the charger for a minute and it worked fine.

Kinda weird, but these issues happen so infrequently that it hasn't really bugged me. It could become frustrating if it starts happening on a regular basis, though.

I rotate my batteries so I don't really keep track of which one is which, but I think I will mark the battery the next time something like this happens. That way I can at least know if both my batteries are doing this.

My strange deal with battery because I don't vape everyday and the no no of leaving FF2 on the cradle is similar in that it won't show it's alive at all when I go to use it. I try to wake it up to no avail. No matter how I touch the buttons nothing seems to work. I know the battery isn't dead. So what I did was just take the battery out and put it back in and the FF2 comes back to life and works fine. Kinda like when electronic stuff acts stupid you unplug and replug.

Well this issue has happened twice to me it's a quick fix. The batter meter is a bigger issue but neither are battery issues more of a firmware issue.

Best lithium battery practices

1) allow battery to fully discharge before recharging
2) when battery is fully charged remove FF2 from charger --- do not store on charger
3) a slower recharge rate may also extend the life of the battery --- I don't worry about this one

This is about all you need to know and you should be good to go.
thanks!

The firefly performed well on my weekend trip. I'm still on the same battery since Thursday with light daily use of 1-2 sessions with a friend per day. I did have an odd battery incident that sounds similar to what others have mentioned. On Saturday I went to use the FF2 and it was unresponsive. A simple re-seating of the battery got things back in working order. I'm still on that battery, so I know it wasn't low on juice. This has me wondering if people's batteries are actually running out or just hitting this bug. I'm currently getting 4 blue blinks and have full battery in the app. I've never seen otherwise, though. Heavy-hitters may have issues with battery on this thing but moderate users should have no problems. EDIT: Thurs, Fri, Sat I used medium heat and Mon/Tues I used concentrate. Last night's concentrate session got things pretty hot.

The last few days I've been pressing rosin and the FF seems to handle it very well on concentrate mode. I've never used concentrates before, so nothing to compare it to. Not sold on rosin for regular use, but it is very easy to transport and quite tasty.

Regarding the filter in the mouthpiece, I can't understand where many of you are coming from. In my unit, there is no way that it is the most restrictive part of the airflow. There is virtually no difference in pull resistance when its in vs out unless the lid is off, whereas taking the lid off with the screen in seriously opens up airflow. Second, IME, increasing the airflow is the last thing you want to do for cloud production. I can't help but think you guys are witnessing other variations in your technique/materials. At least in my case, if you are pulling hard enough that you feel the flow is restrictive, you are pulling too hard. You need to self-regulate to get the best result. Otherwise it sounds like there is wild sample variation and we are using practically different devices.

You are probably experiencing a dead battery. The FF2 continues to draw from the battery in stand-by mode. I don't know how much or if it's constant or anything like that, but it will continue to use battery life. I think it's why they say to keep it on the cradle in the FF2 manual. They say the opposite in the FAQ section of their website, which is the generally accepted way to use lithium-ion batteries.

So the big bad bug of FF2 is battery related. Each vape has its issues!:worms:
It's hardly an issue at this point. If anything, I would call it a mild quirk. Keep the lid on those worms.

Hey Green,

I tend to disagree with you. If you take a straw and put a screen on it and drink through it you would get a drink but it will be less of a drink then not having a screen over the straw. Same concept. You're sucking in less air through the mouthpiece when a screen is on vs off. Maybe I'll revisit screen issue and put it back on to test but I believe most people have same reaction I did when taking screen out of mouth piece

Not to be argumentative but if you search for 'best practice for charging lithium ion batteries' I believe you will find that you item #1 is exactly the wrong thing to do. Li batteries do NOT have the charge level memory issues of other batteries and, given that their life time is measured in cycles (that being FULL cycles from empty to fully charged) you actually get better battery life by only partially depleting and then recharging more frequently.

Item's 2 & 3 are certainly valid and applicable to Li ion batteries but you may want to do a little bit more investigation into #1 to satisfy yourself on this.

Cheers

But what if you had a finer and more restrictive screen at the other end of the straw? Would the screen in questions still have a significant impact under these pressures? I'm no expert in aero- or fluid dynamics. I guess I have no choice but to experiment heavily ;)

Just spoke with Vapeworld Canada. I ordered May 31 and they told me today that the estimated ship date is 1-3 weeks. I'm really dissapointed. Although it could ship sooner I really wish I ordered directly from Firefly since some people have had theirs ship out same day.

Here's a problem no one has reported, though Firefly has confirmed it. This has happened to me three times, always after a session. I would touch both buttons, the green led would light, and then go off. At first I thought one finger slipped off the button or it was just blinking. But I couldn't get the led to light. Once I waited overnight and still the same problem. The work-around, as confirmed by Firefly, is to pop the battery and then reseat it.

Yes to this. The first one is for sure incorrect. Sometimes they suggest doing a full discharge every 30 or so times to reset the device calibration but this is not for the health of the battery.

I have had this issue as well. I kind of lumped it under the "battery-quirk umbrella" without naming every weird thing that has occurred with my batteries.

As with my other battery "issues," it is very infrequent and not something I'm (currently) worried about.

I think I've experienced just about every battery issue I've seen mentioned. The good thing is that every time it has happened, I've been able to just reseat or recharge and the problem goes away.

I don't want to sound redundant, but this is still not an issue to me. It rarely happens and is easily remedied.

I think this is just the firmware locking up a bit and needing a cold reboot, in this case by pulling the battery. Just like my Dell LOL
