I think the best suggestion is to get the factory screens. This is a conduction vape, cotton is a bust (yes, I tried....) as was trying to pack in conventional screens. They just didn't conduct heat in fast enough I think. SS is really a bad conductor, I was thinking of redoing the test with brass instead when VM came up with his vastly superior design. His are much thicker weave (not just thicker wires) and is formed to lay against the cone shaped walls of the pan for maximum heat transfer (something that just can't be duplicated with loose screens stacked up). They are so much better than home made attempts I think folks should avoid such efforts.
An alternate technique, mixing a small amount of concentrate in with some herb, was also a bust. Got really messy easily.
I've never tried e-juice (although I've got some around here somewhere), with the right technique I suspect it would also work but would be a proper PITA to open to add a drop between hits? And the danger of overheating is there, there seems to be mounting evidence that PG and VG can release some truly nasty byproducts if heated too much. There are, for instance, proposals to mandate over temperature protection being built into e-cigs for this reason. I'm thinking it's a better idea to use the juice in a vape specifically designed for it?

I recommend getting a 3-pack of the concentrate screens from the Vapman site for $8 US. They ship fast. I had mine in a week.
The first time I used one with a tiny bit of resin, it was magic. Everything vaporized cleanly without leaving the slightest bit of residue. The next time, not so much. There was a wee bit left about halfway up the side of the pan where the edge of the screen was. I kept vaping and getting more clouds, but it didn't go away completely. I ended up resorting to a q-tip dipped in iso when the clouds quit.
Nonetheless, it was a high-CBD resin and it hit me harder than ever with the VM, giving me great pain relief. I will never go back to what I was using with it!
I am well and truly converted. Vapman forever!

It's best to just use it with flowers. Honestly, everything else makes a mess and quickly ruins the look of the golden bowl or lingers in the wood. If you want something similar to use oils and concentrates, I recommend an OG Dynavap Vapcap. It's glass so easier to clean, performs very well, and cheap.

I dont really post here a lot, but every time I use my vapman i end checking this amazing thread. Vapman has been for a year my only way to medicate. I really hope this little fella stays with me for ever. You have no idea how grateful I am to have this vapo with me, taking it everybody I go. I will soon post some picture of my adventures of it around Chile.

Right! I'm pretty sure every single time I vapman, I check this thread. It makes my seshes last so much longer and feel so much better because I'm always reading all the good vibe posts! I'm not currently using Wallie daily, but he sure impresses every time I whip him out ... which should be more often.

Finally I placed my order on this beautiful little peace of magic after reading this whole thread.
I have collected some kief and bought some very interesting traditional hashes the last months which I plan to start to vape through this week-end.
Because my tolerance is constantly decreasing since I fucked combustion the vapman may hopefully get more use with flower, too, than I'm expecting right know.
I plan eventually to rebuild my vape arsenal because I'm getting tired with the whole charging cable and battery thing (I forgot the pax 2 charger brick and I'm stuck with the crafty in vacation with his awful battery life).
This may be just the first start of flame-powered serious VAS...

I've been using the vapman as my daily driver since forever... and after trying a few battery vases recently, I remembered why I disliked batteries so much.
I'm loving the vapman more after my stray into battery land...
I noticed that I even forget to use the Station now a days. I naturally just pick up the vapman and lighter and after I'm done, the Station looks at me with narrowed eyes and pouty lips and I have to apologize to her - Sorry!
But the lighter comes so easy for me... And I Love the ritual!

You guys ever get that thick resinous mouth coating feeling? Only really my Arizer Air has given me that feeling during a minute preheat. I can get it with the Vapman, but only for a few a second or two during the hit. Hard to master.

Oh it's totally possible but difficult to get. Then again I have been dabbing so much in the last year or so, that i've taken a lot of dabs so big you can feel it turning back into waxy sludge in your air paths. Crazy feeling.
Vapman is cleaner than dabbing that's for sure...

Oh that is a beautiful moment! The taste and vapor are so dense on those hits. It's happening with certain strains and i think it is because of the condensation happening in your mouth (i almost have the feeling of liquid in my mouth). It is almost like having candy in your mouth. I am always amazed when this is happening but i can't plan it. It needs to be a regular thing!

I think it depends on the strain for sure. More resinous ones will have it happen more. You could physically SEE the resin vapor in my AA. It would coat the stem in this opaque film as ur drawing. Not like regular vapor. And ONLY with the first hit.
I've managed to get it almost every "first hit" with the vapman now, but can't hold that thick resinous feel for long enough yet.
It has to be hot enough to boil all the terpenes and release the resin. If it's not hot enough, you'll get just a really really really nice clean flavor, but it won't coat your mouth.

A tiny pinch of herb, a small scoop of kief, and a pan full of happiness.
Running low on herb so the vapman comes out to play every day. A small scoop of kief ontop of the herb makes for a great experience. Good herb flavor plus the spiciness of kief mixes real well. Used a poker to toss the kief with the herb, so it was mixed in but still not directly touching the pan. Working wonders.
