^^^ agreed different strokes for different folks but like I said I like that adaptor. For anyone really into gong (like I was) and a volcano owner (like I was and probably will be soon again) it's practically a must-have. Auctully after I get the volcano I'll probably end up with this adaptor too.

With that said...

Someone coming onto the forum asking about direct water conditioning for the volcano has in all likelihood tried holding the easy valve mouthpiece to their water tool which isn't much different then what that gong adaptor would do. I tried holding a balloon to a water tool and wasn't excited with the results. I'm sure it's nice to not have to hold the balloon, maybe the airflow connection is a little tighter, and it looks alot nicer with the adaptor but it's probably very close to (if not) the same effect. When I had my volcano (this was pre-cloud/hydratube technology) I always wanted a way to directly water condition the vapor but couldn't figure a way out that didn't involve tubing.

I hold my ez valve against a bubbler for water conditioned hits and it's pretty intuitive to me. It's not a perfect seal, but good enough for our purposes IMO.

Can anyone directly compare the Easy Valve with Reducer to the Old Solid Valve? Is the advantage simply convenience of having pre-loaded, pre-measured bowls, or is the Reducer more efficient than the Solid Valve, as I suspect?
This is only my opinion, but I don't think the reduced chamber is really needed as I can vape very well with my Easy Valve and very little herb.

I do think that the reduced chamber's benefit comes when used with the one-use disposable dosing capsules and the only real use for the dosing capsules that I can see is to pre-load very specific dosages for medical use, something perhaps that only people in that specific situation would value.

Now, as shown in one of my previous posts, I did get the reduced chamber/dosing capsule to work GREAT when filled to top with herb and particularly with a little bit of concentrate in the middle of the herb pile.

But I can vape great without the reduced chamber so why get it....?

I don't feel misled...I know have a second chamber and some bitty little capsules and I will use it again in the future, but its not needed by the majority of users IMO.

Can you link me to the some bubblers (attachments) to use with the Solid Valve?
The mouthpiece of solid valve is the same as the mouthpiece to the EZ Valve, in it's lip contour, so you are set with using bags with water.
Direct feed method also is demonstrated in this VTV Presentation:

The water adapter is from 7th Floor LLC, but can be gotten in any head shop.

Please note... the camera sees things the eye does not. I thought my EZ Valve Chamber to look sparkling clean.
I like to fill it to the top, to the line where the funnel shaped lip starts.

Depending on the strain, and also dryness of the strain that could be the better part of a gram. A full gram at times.

Now to be clear, I said I "Liked to fill the chamber as described, but I do not a;ways fill it so full.
My average EZ Valve bowl is 1/2 gram as seen here:

Needless to say, if the herb was older and dryer, this would be of even lower level..
and of this texture herb (Cataract Kush) a full gram of this texture would not fit ... but I likely could have made this bowl a .7 of a gram bowl.
A half gram in this instance was PLENTY!
that looks delish

When the Facts Change, I Change My Mind.
I tend to run about .15 - .20 or so in a regular chamber at a time and it works great. I have found now downside from pulling a chamber if its not complete for vaping the next day.

Exactly :) Absolutely no problem using a chamber from a previous unfinished session.

So the thing about these pictures is that filling chamber this is nasty looking Why? For me the solution was a big brush I bought On amazon

you might want to buy one.

OK So you load 1/2 to a gram.
How many bags do you get?
Whats the flavor like?
Is it different if you load less?

I dumped a load, and filled another for the camera... and made a comical comment about my failing vision. No need to buy a brush when I have a dozen Volcano brushes.

I think that was my point... that my eyes are failing... not that my brushes do not work!;)

I get about a half dozen bags of great flavor thick vapor.
I sometimes go for two or 3 weaker bags, but I sometimes just dump it into the ABV pile at that point.
The flavor is less by a small fraction with less meds.. but about the same.
The number of bags is about the same.... maybe a couple bags less.
What is really different is the intensity of the medication when I use more meds in the chamber.

Got my reduced chamber and dosing caps in the mail today. Im impressed with these little things. Only problem is the puff it up order was held up a day in processing, so it is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Hopefully a signature isn't needed for the delivery thou if it is I won't be trying these out until Monday.

Ive noticed my mailman doesn't come to my door to obtain signatures anymore. Instead he automatically leaves a noticed in my mailbox saying HE TRIED TO OBTAIN A SIGNATURE BUT NOBODY WAS AVAILABLE TO SIGN FOR IT, and now if I want my delivery I must pick it up in person at the post office

Right. More is more. Let's hope so anyway.
Maybe I need to try a couple different strains to see if I get different results. When I load a large load 1/4-1/2 gram or more the bags get harsh. The harsh point. My lungs can't handle harsh. I wish more people would talk about the amount and temp that works best for them.
I find that when I vaporize this dosing and temp work very very well.
For me (strains I use test at over 20% otherwise less is less)
125mg on 6. I get 2 bags(2foot). Good flavor good effect.

Picked up the volcano today and tested it out. Sad to say its going back. It rattles on and off constantly when the blower is on. It also appears to be a little off centered when looking at it directly from above. @PuffItUp thinks it's a quality control issue I have no idea but it sucks. You think your volcano is loud? This ones about 3times louder.

On a positive note I was sent a return label almost immediately. It sounds like I'll have a new volcano in about a week. Plus I had a mighty in the order as well so, it's not all bad. Guess I'll have to jump over to the mighty thread for now thou.

Well, I will try to add my little bit here. I generally load about .25 in the regular EV chamber and most often will temp step from 365 to 385 then maybe 410-420 if I want to extract the last bit although vape gets a bit harsh at that point. Often with .25 at 365 or 385, I will get two nice bags then retire the chamber and pick it up the next day for an initial bag or so. I'm 63 and have been consuming herb since I was 14, but I must not have the tolerance of some of you folks LOL

I tried the EV reduced chamber (RC) without the dosing capsule (DC) and found it underwhelming. Bit of herb was blown out of the chamber (top screen doesn't fit tight enough) and it just didn't seem to extract as well as other configurations.

Now, the RC with the DC does in fact work pretty good in my experience with them, particularly loading herb, putting a touch of shatter in there, then filling DC with herb on top. Run this at 410, get two good bags, and its 'say good night, Grace'. The higher temp seems to address the shatter along with quick extraction of the herb's cannabinoids. I vape mostly for pain relief and sleep and really like this little knock out cocktail. Second bag is a bit harsh though...not from temp but from vapor content.

So again, except for making little cocktails like I described, or for preparation of multiple medical doses under strict dosage control, I don't see a whole lot of value in the RC/DC as it seems to me that I can already get pretty darn good extraction with a reasonably small amount in the regular EV chamber.

Cheers

^^^ looking forward to trying this out. Been enjoying the dc's so far but it's only been threw the mighty. Good hearing positive responses about them with the volcano.

Picked up the volcano today and tested it out. Sad to say its going back.

There was a mighty in the order so, it's not all bad

Got an automated email earlier saying a volcano is on the way! One day turn around....nice.

Atleast this has given me a chance to break in the mighty. Something I probably wouldn't have done for a while. It's good thou because I find the mighty to be very portable. Smaller than my hand, fits in my pocket. Nice to know I have a good travel vape ready if needed.

I haven't and doubt I will use the mighty without the capsules. So unless I use someone's else's mighty I won't be able to compare. Same for the ev rc probably won't use it without the caps either.

The volcano came off the bench today and reaffirmed why I will hold on to this beast. I was considering selling my classic as the mighty is my DD but nope the cano ain't goin' nowhere.

Some have you have seen my posts in this thread, over 5 year period.
Every year I ritualistically change bags. I use a new regular sized bag once a year, and at that time, I reclaim the EZ Valve parts from the regular sized old bag, and I make myself a new 42 inch bag... even if the old one appears to be holding up.
On May 18 I had all of my vapes taken by the police during a raid on our home.
In June I had some vaporizers replaced, and I got a Volcano back through VapeWorld.
That was a year ago, and yesterday by chance, my regular sized bag sprung a small leak.
I recovered the mouthpiece assembly from the old bag.
DSC04289.jpg

The stuff was as thick as usual.
I usually pour Iso in the bag, and massage the stuff off until it is all liquid, then I evaporate the reclaim for use.
DSC04292.jpg

I had a different plan of attack this time around, because of the small leak the bag had developed.
I thought I would peel the sublimate away from the bag in pieces.
DSC04294.jpg

A small amount of un-wrinkling of the bag revealed some edges to begin working on.
Check out the appearance outside:
DSC04291.jpg

I peeled the chips off, and due to climate they were flexible, and peeled more easily than expected.
I used the pieces up dab style in the VB2.
Under the effect of almost a half dozen Volcano Bag remnant dabs, I began the bag building.

  • Year Old Regular sized Bag
  • Year Old 42 incher
  • New 42 incher (you can see the hint of Gold up in there where I did not clean the old parts 100% thoroughly)
  • New Regular Bag
DSC04303.jpg

What I am doing at this point, is using only the old 42 inch bag......
preserving the new regular sized bag as new... to begin it's service on the same day as it's newly reconstructed extra long counterpart.
That should be in a few days, and I will doubtless have fun with the reclaim process from the old long bag at that time!

Wow, I must be missing something changing out my EV bags ever 6 weeks or so, they seem to start getting a harsh taste. Is all of that residue from dry herb or shatter/wax?

All from Dry Herb.
While the concentrate pad works well, I do not like to use it in the same Chamber for ease of cleanup.

For me personally, I don't like to be tethered to a GPO (wall outlet).
I usually have my water piece outside.... So I fill a bag and take it outside and use it outside.

Also don't like the idea of being hunched over a table awkwardly each time I want a draw.

It's actually for these 2 reasons I got the volcano over the evo (and the legendary S&B quality of the volcano).

I've used my hydratube with my volcano too and wasn't a fan (no pun).
Hence why I got the PV easy valve adapter.

Different strokes for different folks.
HI - I ordered one of these EV glass adapters and used it for the first time last night. Results were ok. This glass overall is new to me and I think a little more water would help increase the draw resistance.

Now, I know that vape draws tend to be more diluted with air than a smoking toke. This is certainly true with the Volcano, so my first impressions were that draws through the balloon through the water piece felt just a bit on the weak side. But, what's in the bag is in the bag and once vaped then all of the contents have been consumed and I was quite buzzed. I think this will be particularly helpful with sessions where I am going after denser/higher temp bags and in particular when I make up an herb/concentrate sandwich in the reduced chamber dosing capsules which tends to be very harsh for me.

Overall, happy I bought it but will need a little more experience to tune it in.

Certainly, the vapor was less dry and softer than without and that's why I bought it.

For those using a hydrotube...do you just hold the tube to the bag's valve mouthpiece???

hehehehe...nice video, thanks! Looks like fun. Anybody in particular laying down the blues in the background?
It is the "Slow Blues" loop on my Imac Garage Band.
I get to add/subtract instruments...
and select between a number of instruments for each slot.
Slots are:
  • Keyboard
  • Bass
  • Drums
  • Guitar
  • Backup Keyboard
  • Melody
I also adjust the tempo.
Glad you like it.........
I just redid that same basic music track a minute ago but with different instruments, (and I used a single slide guitar for melody instead of an entire horn section) and added it to this brief single bag Volcano mini-Session... done just for you on webcam.
