DH Gate How Long Is Reasonable to Receive Purchase Item to Canada

Placed my first order with DH Gate on April 28 tracking indicates left Shanghai May 2 for international destination.

I am in a large city in Canada and just contacted the seller today with an enquiry. It has been 5 weeks since I placed my order. How long does it usually take to receive items?

I'd crosspost this in the Cheap Bubbler thread for visibility. All of my recent orders have arrived ~1 week to Canada but I think I read somewhere that some orders shipped around that time experienced long delays for some reason. Might be time to open a dispute with DHGate.

Have you checked the tracking # on Canada Post? I find that the china post tracking typically doesn't show that packages are at the CBSA for inspection.

I've got one like that right now too, it's been 36 days since I got that initial tracking # with no updates. I ordered the same exact item from the same seller a couple months ago and tracking didn't work on Canada Post either but I did get it eventually. Luckily those are only dress up washers for my scooter, I'm in no hurry for em.

I'd contact the seller and tell them you haven't received anything yet, they may resend or give you a refund. I've done this before and gotten a replacement and then 3 weeks later the original order showed up.

Hate to say it, but give it another week before you get too bummed out. I'd still contact the seller. That may help. Some have been known to post fake tracking in the past. Not so much to dick you over, but think they have to keep up to specified DHGate "standards". And, even if that's the case it may have already shipped, just not when you were told.

We've really got a bit spoiled over the past year or so. When the Cheap Bubbler thread really started taking off a couple years ago, 4-6 weeks was the norm. Sometimes a little longer, sometimes not as long. Lately, stuff seems to usually come within about 10 days.

Think sometimes they have to sell enough stuff overseas to make it worth it to ship. Like they need enough to fill whatever container for overseas, or maybe even make it worthwhile to send from their particular shop to point of departure.

What seller did you buy from? That can make a difference, and would be good for others to know here and in Cheap Bubbler thread who this one is.

Seller replied saying to keep waiting. That`s a long time, not really complaining since shipping was free and the item is like $10 (pocket scale) but would like it by now lol.

A pocket scale? For crying out loud ...

Slow Draw, no idea what you find wrong with a pocket scale to measure how much material one receives when making a purchase and to know how much you are loading into one`s device of choice.

Lot`s of people here use them. Your comment is baffling.

I must be missing something.

Found nothing wrong. For some reason at first I thought it was about glass. Sorry if I offended you. My intent was not to baffle.

Seller says it is late due to bad weather and strikes in China. Since the last scanned entry from China Post shows the package left Shanghai May 2 on route to international destination can't see how weather and strikes would have any effect in it. Other tracking sites people here kindly posted don't have any info for my shipment.

Sounds like either your shipment was lost in transit, or the seller is doing something shady.

Who was the seller?

I posted in the cheap glass thread my experience with a recent DHgate seller with whom I had quick shipping. Generally it depends on the seller. I usually have to wait 3 to 5 weeks. I'm in the US but I imagine that delivery issues are similar.

Your shipping method from China makes a huge difference, to Canada you really want Canadpost ePost or you'll almost definitely be waiting over a month.

If you got Shanghai post, Hong Kong post or any of the other common Chinese shipping options you're going to wait.

Another concern is that your pocket scale probably contains batteries, expect 2~ months on anything that takes batteries from China because of air shipping prohibitions.
