Discontinued Zion vaporizer

Lol wonder if I'm getting a pcb or wtf in my zion. I hope it's one of the soldered versions, as it will be a testament to I was there when it all started etc. Kinda like my non-recessed milaana

Yes I think rbt vapes will be around for a while, this is just the beginning.

On the road to zion... what a great time to be alive :science:

That's enough reason for me to keep my OG if I decide to get another. Damn. Mine has so many perfect imperfections.

I'm actually really happy that he's offering the Milaana back to us at a lower price. I was actually going to ask him if he'd maybe hook me up with a second at the initial price.

Too bad the update didn't provide much optimism.
Too bad he didn't offer us second zions for $169 ;)

When I received my Milaana I got the batteries that I had ordered for the Zion. I had some issues with wrap and one being dented, so I have a few questions on what my best course of action is with regards to pairing, safety and battery life. I have four batteries, and three of them had wraps that had problems. I just had all four rewrapped and now I am not sure what I should do with them while they wait for the Zion. All of the batteries are LG HE4s.

Blue wrap #1 (Charge level: 4.18): This battery I had charged initially upon getting it for use with the Milaana but then noticed the wrap peeling. I now have three batteries dedicated to the Milaana and I don't need a fourth.

Blue wrap #2 (Charge level: 3.65): This battery had a peeling wrap and I never charged it.

Purple wrap #1 (Charge level: 3.65): This battery also had a peeling wrap and I never charged it.

Purple wrap #2 (Charge level: ???): This battery has a small dent at the bottom of the battery on the negative end. I didn't trust this battery and had brought it to the vape shop for them to dispose of it. The guy at the shop said that this was fine and could still be used. He said that because the dent is small and on the bottom that it isn't a problem. Since I am unsure and prefer to err on the side of caution, I haven't even put this in the charger to check the charge.

Because I have no idea when I will be getting my Zion, I don't know how long these batteries will be waiting, but I imagine it will be some time. Can anyone provide advice on how to get the most out of the batteries? Thanks!

How do you discharge 18650s? I'm pretty sure mine are going to be shot since they've been charged for months. Got them back when the Zion delay was expected to be much shorter and don't have any other vapes or electronics that use them anymore.

Yeah I had that issue with one pair when I fried Ziggy originally and had to wait a few months. Batteries have held up okay actually, but yeah not ideal, also didn't know how to discharge em without ruining the pair. So I say just be sure to have a set of fresh ones too? Zion should come with its own new pair at least

@DocGonzo : you could order a cheapo LED flashlight fron BangGood for around $8 and use it to discharge them, but (free) shipping times are slow from China. Some high end chargers can also do discharge cycles. Otherwise find a low voltage and low wattage light bulb and two wires, that will create a small load to discharge them. But you'll have to carefully watch the voltage as to not overdo it... and I don't want you to set your house on fire, so it's best to do it on a concrete surface or outside.

But the damage from sitting fully charged is not that dramatic anyways. It's not recommended but they will not die either.

I wrote on the customer form asking for a partial refund on a very recent Milaana purchase. The Milaana hasn't been shipped yet and wondered if I could have the discount applied to my recent order. Haven't heard anything yet.
I think my zion is #23 so hopefully it will come in the next few months.

I have done this as well. It may be something he is doing for only those who didnt already by a Milaana at all but did buy a Zion. Would love to get $40 back tho. He has responded to @WakeAndVape who supposedly contacted him a day after I emailed him so I was thinking I probably wont get a response since I have not yet. I feel so underprivliged not getting a response from him...

I've been experimenting with clean screens and microdosing.
I have better luck packing a full bowl slightly tamped for a little restriction when using a fresh screen.
I can't remember it being discussed before, but I have great results carbing the air intake hole at the bottom.
I also do this with Mi to help with first hit clouds.(harder to cover intake, but partial coverage affects heat big time)
It provides greater extraction (darker abv) with smaller loads IME as well.

I don't remember this mentioned before either. I have done some slight experimenting too, and sometime finger the hole (sorry for the term) like i tried with my Evo. I like the versatility but do not personally see myself using this method often. But.. I can see why others would

I only use it until the screens and my hemp fiber start to add restriction to my liking.
With all the "filter talk" in the Mi thread, just wanted to give another option.
I think when Mi #2 gets here, I'll go filterless and carb it.

Never tried it on my evo, thanks for the idea Krazy! I've always thought it and herbie were too wide open for me, too much air intake.

Lucky has been outfitted with a
m-m and jhook lately.
Both purchased from Sticks, sometime last year.
Anyone that digs dry, and hasn't tried a jhook mouthpiece yet, I highly recommend!

I love this vaporizer!
Still waiting for the honeymoon to end, so I can dust my (some much) more expensive devices off and put em back to use.
If Zi continues to hog all of my attention, might have to liquidate the dusty lineup! :disgust:

Did he respond to WakeAndVape about a milaana partial refund? I was thinking of trying to get hold of Sheila but I don't know if she has anything to do with this.

No, he responded to him about a broken glass stem replacement for his Milaana. Could be RBT is thinking this over since he has not said no yet...

I wonder if he is issuing refunds for the Zion that went back to be repaired and never came home?
All manner of speculation aside, wtf?
Guess I need to start a thread to discuss this .....

If you are referring to the post by @little maggie then I think you are misunderstanding. It sounds like he just issued a $40 refund on a Milaana purchase because RBT was charging $169 for them but just offered a deal to sell them at $129 for those that have a Zion on pre-order already and want to purchase a Milaana in the meantime.

I cannot wait to see Zion's go back into shipping mode. With all the recent talk of the Zion being on another level compared to the Milaana I anticipate the Zion will become my on the go portable. You see I like that the Zion is supposedly smoother and I like the longer battery life. I love my Milaana and she gets so used right now, but the simplicity of running her through water is where I find she shines the most for me. So while many people were saying the Mi is the more portable Zion, I actually intend on using them in the opposite manner. Zion will be my portable, Mi will be my desktop. And the Supreme will be my spiritual and physical therapist.

Thanks for the clarity @nosmoking, I was referring to the folks who have already owned a Zion.
I am sure if/when your Zion arrives that you will be quite happy with it.

I use the top end (about 75% +) of Vyvyan's power range, probably around 85-90% of the time (man I love percentages!). So, although I know that there are not too many of you out there, I was just wondering how the Milaaana comes into play for any of you who do have a Zi/Mi combo who also like to mainly use the Zion close to or if not at, full power? Does the Milaaana end up becoming a mini Zion? Or do you feel that there are appreciable differences between the two, even when used in such a similar manner?

I know it's all vapor, but I'm just trying to get an idea of how this particular device has fitted in to your vapertoire.

Ahhh don't mind me, I'm only chattin' (shit).

Awesome question that anticipated what I was going to post about anyway. We must be on the same wavelength!

Just spent a week with Milaana exclusively and switched back to Zion this morning.

Milaana is definitely not a mini Zion performance wise. They have completely different personalities.

Zion is rock steady due to the chip which allows you to find dial/drawspeed combos that you like and hit it again and again just like that.

Milaana is like Zions bipolar little sister, ever changing and requiring you to be more alert to the mood and the direction its going and make ongoing adjustments in draw and button press time. Bear in mind these adjustments are intuitive and natural one you get to know her.

The Zion has a generally flatter temperature response so it tends to run at a chosen level. Milaana on the other hand tends to 'sweep' through a wider range of temps each hit. What it amounts to is somewhat different vape signatures.

They are indeed different!

There must be something in the air. I also switched back to the Zion yesterday for a refreshing change, and I agree with @thekarmawhore. They are a lot more different than you might expect. I found that I had to keep reminding myself that I didn't have to lift off the button the way I'd have to with the Milaana. I'd forgotten how nice it is to set the Zion for a low temperature hit and get the same thing every time. The Milaana changes for every hit, and while I find that easy to handle, it does require that you pay attention 100% of the time.
