Arizer Solo

:myday: JUST WHEN YOU THINK YOU'RE OUT, ETC., ETC.
The seller was understandably pissed I left neg feedback and suppled me email excerpts with Arizer, (not comprehensive and not a P.O.) suggesting the unit was legitimately purchased from Arizer. So, for your amusement and edification, get the popcorn. FWIW I still don't believe they bought it from Arizer. But Donald Trump is running for president. We live in strange times. Stay thirsty. :/

Dear hotsales121,

Selling counterfeit items on eBay is not cool with me. I don't want to
see anyone else get burned. That's why you got negative feedback. If/when
you contact Amy at Arizer perhaps you can arrange to buy wholesale direct
from them? Good luck!

Hi Michael,

Thank you for your
email.

I am sorry to inform you but based on the information provided,
the product you have is a counterfeit, not manufactured by Arizer.

Due
to the low quality components in that product I strongly recommend that you
do not attempt to use it any further.

If you can send the counterfeit
product in to us, I can offer you an exchange for a new Authentic Arizer
Solo for only $99.00 (plus shipping and applicable tax).

If you would
like to take me up on this offer please let me know!

we already stop selling there products because they do not
honer their own products serial number and called it counterfeit .
We are
wounding if they call this solo as counterfeit products Why they asked you
to return it back to them and offered you to purchase new solo whit price
of $99 because when any company call any product as counterfeit product the
will not honer to replacement and ask customer to return counterfeit
product back to them!! .
So As a seller we did everything to make sure
you are happy with our service even you did not returned all the pips which
worth over $20 we fully refund your money.
we are wondering if there is
anything else we can do to change your mind about our company if you check
our sell history you will see we worked hard to provide our customer the
best service and hope you understand your negative will effect to our
business.
We are willing to do anything in our power to change your mind
abut our service because customer satisfaction is our top priority.
We are
waiting for your kind reply.

Dear hotsales121,

If true, Arizer owes you an apology. Amy informed me (from the SN I
provided) that the unit was definitely counterfeit. It didn't look or
perform like any Solo I've ever used. At the very least, it was defective.
I know Kevin. Have him confirm with me the unit is genuine an I'll be happy
to retract the feedback. I have no dog in this fight. I'm stuck in the
middle.

Herb gardener...
@Pappy this is all getting a bit 'pass the buck'

Iv been following your story and I have to say I have much sympathy for your problem, never nice to see someone losing out...not that you lost out now that you have a refund and some free stems, (that must make you feel better)....

I don't believe a word of what hotsales is saying,

Also check the date of his 'order' to arizer, has he sold less that 50 in over 6 months, that's not good going...

This all seems very dodgy, and if it turns out that he is a lying, dodgy seller, I hope he is outed and his business goes tits up....

I think selling couterfeit products that can be detrimental to your health, is highly irresponsible....

It's a gamble anytime that you buy a vaporizer off eBay. Unless you personally know that the business is legit. Stay away. Ariser will honor an Arizer Solo from any retailer as long as it's a real unit. Why save $30 or so if you get stuck in the end possibly? Not worth it to me.

Doesn't eBay guarantee your purchase? It sounds like the company is giving you your money back @Pappy.

Go to Randy @PuffItUp after service is really important with a portable. Most legit Solos have very few faulty units but it does happen.

Just thought I'd give a little update to my on-the-go charging solution. I decided to go for the car jump starter battery; it has a great capacity of 16800 mAh, can jump start my car (actually quite useful for me), can charge other items and only costs £31.49. Here is the Amazon link:

It also comes with the correct adapter to charge the Solo. I wasn't sure of this at the time so I had an order placed for 10x adapters anyway, they will come in handy I am sure.

@OF solution also seems great, and thanks to you for getting me thinking outside of the box. (CCTV chargers led me to think about using a car jumper battery).

And no doubt changing the spelling on his company name??? He's not about to get out of the scamming business because of this one setbsck, he's probably got a pile of that junk to foist off on the suckers. In fact, I bet many of them already have a few other fake companies set up for just this sort of stuff?

He is not going away because of this single time getting 'caught out'.

Bottom line, I think, trying to avoid the known crooks is at best partial protection. The only 'sure way' to avoid counterfeits is to pass on the 'too good to be true' deals and stick with the known legitimate dealers.

IMO there's a huge gap between 'known legitimate' and 'hasn't been proven a crook yet'.

You're welcome, glad you've found a solution. I think you should test that "16800 mAh capacity" part carefully before you count on it. A common bit of 'specsmanship' seems to be giving the capacity at 5 Volts from the USB socket, not 12 Volts like we need. My pack, for instance, is rated at 12,000 mAh (at 5 Volts), but only 6,000 at 12 Volts. You'll probably get several full recharges, not over a dozen. Still 8 recharges at 8 sessions per is 64 sessions......that's a serious weekend outing around here.

Thanks for the heads up. I had taken this into account (without doing the maths) and if it was truly 16800mAh at 12v then it would be waaaay more than I needed anyway.

As for charging speeds, when I took the picture and posted it, the number 3 light had just stopped flickering, as I post now the number 7 light is very close to stopping. This is on the original battery from a Solo that's around 2.5-3 years old with daily use.

It varies some from Solo to Solo but they seem to charge in the .7 to .8 Amp range if they can get enough current from the 12 Volt supply. The Solo, not the battery bank, limits that after that.

In round figures the lights are .1 Volt steps apart IIRC, a 'full charge' is typically about 1000 mAh so I'd say about 80 minutes? Ten minutes per step?

It gets 'funny' at the top end of course since the charge rate tapers off automatically. The last half hour of so of charging really delivers little useful capacity IMO.

Anyway, sounds like your battery is doing fine by that standard......as it should. Sounds like you're taking care of it, and I'm sure it's returning that by taking care of you......

Best wishes.

Elephant Rig UPDATE:

Since the whip adapter glass piece that was connected to the ashcatcher was lower then the ashcatcher itself, I wanted to get a stand for it. At goodwill I found the perfect wood stand. I used a spade drill bit to make a hole in the above circular piece and dropped the whip through. Its now pretty sturdy and is hard to tip over. Here's a pic and a video;

This is my new water filtration setup for my Solo. Cant wait to test it out.

I did want to use DHgate & Planetvape for a more cost efficient setup but it was like they didnt want to take my money, problems at every turn. Oh well this setup should get here sooner.

Here's this setup in action, my first water piece for my Solo.

Got some freshly ground Goo in the Easy Flow adapter, set the Solo to six, added some warm water to my "Daily Driver" and milked it for a full session. It hits real nice. Smooth and tasty. Great addition to my collection.

Is there anywhere you can buy solo stems in bulk rate for cheaper? like if i want to buy at least 5 or 10 at once?

I lose em more than i break em.
Yeah, I am interested in this as well, I'd like to buy 5 of each at once at a much discounted price than the online store here charges.
Straight and bent solo stems are $13 each here (Australia).

My Aussie vape store tells me this about a water tool (bong) for my solo -

"Thank you for your inquiry.

Unfortunately we don't carry the water tool for the Arizer Solo. I'm afraid we don't stock any bubblers in general due to Australian law."

So has anyone got any suggestions on places in Canada, UK or USA that I can buy (online) a good water tool for my solo. One similar to @A1 's up a few posts is what I am after.

I emailed Randy at puffit and he nicely put me onto another crowd who havent got back to me as yet.

I'm happy to pay for the shipping of course, i just have to find a place that will do the deal so to speak. I am open to suggestions, thanks!

i would guess that making stems "bullet proof" probably winds up with a stem that is too thick to conduct the heat, not to mention, that there likely would by no room for the cannabis.

Yeah, but it sure would drive Ataxian crazy not breaking though wouldn't it?

Well, OK, more crazy than he already is? That is possible you know........ Maybe.
