Discontinued The Grasshopper

I meant to reply to @Lahey before RE: battery identifying.
I think tape would make the battery stick in the hopper, there's pretty small tolerance.

I just used a sharpie, and put a small dot on each batter, 1 - 5 dots.
On the positive side of the battery is an indenture which can protect the ink.
I have had multiple batteries labeled my way for months, they fit just fine in the GH.

Did anyone else notice vape critic said it comes with 2 batteries? Did I hear that incorrectly?

Anyhow, I don't think it comes with 2 correct?

if you pre-ordered, and your estimate ship date have been extended, then HopperLabs give you an extra battery for a trouble. but if you get yours in august, as it is supposed, then i don't know. i think that they give extra battery only to pre-orders that had to wait longer than estimated. but i can be wrong.

Ahhh gotcha! That's cool of them.

Yea I ordered only a week ago, so my date says August 2016.

I just can't believe how much he hated the stealth aspect of it.

How do you carry those things around? Especially in the summer. LOL sorry for being off topic.

On-Topic

In any event, I still think it's a pretty amazing device, and with most of FC raving it, I'll take your guys word over one man's opinion. I also believe Buzz reviewed it favorably.

Isn't the Dark Grey closer to black, why didn't he get one of those?

Vape Critic really disappointed me with his incredibly biased review on this one. It shows so much.

lol they are shorter than the hopper but much thicker diameter. I favour front jeans pocket if i want to give the impression that im hung like a horse :D

Seriously though, a loose pocket or man bag as I carry other ecig related vape gear around anyway and if I'm out for the night in an environment where I dont feel like carrying a bubbler around I find the silicone tip more than adequate to get me through with direct mouth inhales.

I am going to order the bottle rocket from mflb... for portable water filtration does someone used it with the gh... see @paytonpenn using it with the fw3.... would it be useable with the gh?

Obviously everyone is entitled to their opinion, especially when coupled with the needs you seek in a portable vape. And he has a lot of vapes to compare to. Maybe he doesn't want or need a stealth vape.

That being said, he reviews this in quite an arrogant way, I feel. And from the start of the video seems like reviewing the hopper is a chore for him.

Who cares though. I value word of mouth way more than I do a single critics review.

Me and my friend who never smokes or vapes anything did a fully packed bowl passing it back and forth and he didn't complain at all. If you just wrap your hand around the mouthpiece for a few seconds after hitting (works well on Ti, not sure about SS) it will be plenty cool for the next person to take a hit.

I think VapeCritic isn't necessarily coming at it from the wrong angle, more he is coming at it as a 'vaper'.

I come from a bong background right, and so the smoking mentality is still in my blood.
As a whole, the vaping experience for me has altered my appreciation for cannabis, and it has a lot to offer.
I think the GH offers perfect middleground.
If you spend a bunch on a Mighty - you will get a mind-blowing vaping experience. That's how I would explain my encounter with that brilliant device.
But the 'vaping' experience is a far cry from hitting a fat bong. It's slow and pleasant, and not properly extreme.
The hopper is more extreme than the Mighty, ever, ever so slightly less extreme than my EQ, and generally just what I'm looking for.
It fades the transition between smoking and vaping.

If I didn't have a bong before, a joint or blunt would be the option.
So it's not really at all dissimilar with the GH, if I don't have my glass, I can toke it like a robotic cigar from the future.

From my perspective, the GH is basically all I need. But I can appreciate that it's not perfect, and it is fair to expose its flaws.

To me, the flaws are mainly negligible, but opinions are worth $0.02, and round to nothing.

I have had multiple batteries labeled my way for months, they fit just fine in the GH.
I stand corrected, didn't have my hopper to verify :ugh:
One of my batteries sticks on one end though, so that's what I had in mind.
_________

@btka The MFLB bottle rocket would work, a few different ways too. Very cool stuff from MFLB. Their UFO would be nice also.

Sorry for this somewhat off topic statement:

This worries me. I'm not a fan of the Extreme Q. I had it for a week in 2012 and now it's been off since then. I got a Cloud Evo and an E-Nano and I never looked back.

I would never classify the EQ as extreme.

-----

I can't wait to try it. I would pay slightly more if I could buy it in a store today. But I realize that it's unavailable, etc. etc. :-)

I can assure you my EQ is extreme. :science:
I have it modified with a short glass adapter, bringing the herb within millimetres of the ceramic heater.
I'm talking clouds that make smokers choke, bringing 0.15g beyond the boiling point instantaneously.
The EQ can sit you down proper if used right.
Kief in it, is synonymous with extremity.

People say they want to sell their clouds after getting their GH, you might not fall into this category, but at least you shouldn't be disappointed if thru-glass use is on the menu.
Unfortunately I've never had the pleasure of using a log or a cloud, but I feel comfortable in saying the GH will offer close enough of the experience, in a size that excuses it, at a speed that makes it more delectable.

Ahhh I forgot about all the mods for EQ. I just used it normally LOL :-).

I have seen people post that they love the GH just as much and even more then the cloud. Which gets me excited :-)

I use to like the vape critic reviews but i have to say this one...
This review looks more like a small child trying to get back at someone than anything useful.

As far as I can remember this is the first time I've ever seen him overlay the video with a title saying "lighting enhanced vapor" too which looks like a deliberate attempt to play down the vapor this thing can produce. It is almost like he's not even trying to hide the level of disdain he has for the Hopper or Hopper Labs or whoever has pissed him off.

This is what struck me about it. It's like the video is revenge for something. Too bad. It really hurts his credibility going forward as an objective reviewer for me. Even if I didn't know what I do about the hopper, his attitude would make me hesitant to give his complaints any weight. And this is a real change from his past reviews, where the shortcomings of a vape would be pointed out in a manner that struck me as fair-minded. Oh, well.

I just watched Vape Critics review. I always take his reviews with a grain of salt just because I take everyone's reviews with a grain of salt. I feel like reviews help steer me, but I have learned that in no way should I trust one person's opinion but rather a collective mind of opinions (such as FC). When the Cloud first came out, FC was going nuts, and even with its growing pains, it's still the best vape I have ever used (still using my cloud evo).

That being said, cutting through his bias, how hot really is the vapor? Let's say I'm going out to bar with a friend, can we reasonably take a bunch of hits outside with it quickly? Or will it actually get too hot? Or is a better tack to take a LARGE hit and be one and done.

I do have my titanium on order, and I'm no stranger to hot vapor, as my pax at high temperature got pretty hot at times. How is it compared to that? A bit hotter?

Anyhow, still can't wait to get mine :-)

I've had my grasshopper for nearly a year and I don't even know where my silicone mouthpiece is. I use it natively 99% of the time, the heat really isn't a problem.

I agree.

He spends like 3-4 minutes bashing the design, asking why it looks like a pen and why there's a pen clip. Seriously? Then goes into the nuances of the pen clicking and how you need to put "a decent amount of force" into it. Like, it's obviously designed to look like a pen, and you need a decent amount of force so it won't turn on in your pocket or another location.

I get it's his opinions, but it felt like he didn't even think about the design or anything about it.

Edit: In regards to the heat, I personally always use it with the silicon mouthpiece. The first time I used it I noticed the heat and I had to adjust my technique, now I never notice it. I do notice when I pass it around some people find it does get hot on their lips, but again you just have to tell them to only have a light grip.

i think he is using Hopper wrong. he talked about few hits before it is getting hot. but this is aint no session vape. user should be coughing and sweating after clearing that bowl in two big rips. this is one hitter. i think he doesn't get this concept. because he opens up a chamber and gives a stirring like to fcuking launch box. WTF? is anyone else doing that? and he is first one to suggest that fine grinded material is better for a Hopper. :hmm: i heard people not grinding herb at all, or just grinding it coarse. others say that it gives better air flow and therefore a cloud also. plus not clogging that screen so badly as a powdered weed.

very, very fishy his review this time. he say opposite things to general feedback.

I watch Vape Critic and the last couple of videos he does mention the lighting being enhanced. He did not seem objective in this video. I'm surprised myself as he usually points out the pros and cons with less "attitude." It was like watching a kid who said he brushed his teeth but had to go back and brush again cause mom said so. I'm almost a month in on my SS and I use temp 5 the most without the silicone mp and multiple hits in a row. This is not a take it out the box and vape however you want unit. There is some technique involved.

Yeah with technique neither my SS or Ti GH's get too hot to use. I usually share mine with another person and never have any complains about it being too hot. I never use it with the silicone unless it's going through water. I've mentioned this over and over in this thread, I have no idea why this reviewer is having so many issues with his.

i think that VapeCritic is angry on HopperLabs that he had to wait for his pre-order like all others. maybe he thought that he would get it asap for testing and reviewing. this could explain his negative wibes in this video.

Who knows what's up with him, but he sure does make it seem like the GH is impossible to use without the silicone mouth piece. It gets hot but something is wrong with it if it's burning your lips. Anyways, I'll just sit here vaping on my GH natively. Lol

Yes, I noticed that. Too many contradictions that go against my personal experience. I've tried all sorts of grind and can safely say that course grind, loosely packed, no more than 0.1g will provide the biggest clouds and hit the hardest. Fine grind was useless in comparison.

The mind boggles....
