No appetite?

not sure if I am posting in the right location but here it goes. I know people usually get the munchies after consuming MJ. For some reason it's doing the opposite.

Who else do not get the munchies ? While this is good news for me ( in the process of loosing weight )

I'm one of those people who fight to keep weight on so one of the reasons I vape is to stimulate appetite.
I've found that I only get the munchies if I vape at lower temps (from 350-370ish) and just a few hits then I can't vape anymore for an hour or two, only then do i get the munchies. With High temps or constant vaping I will never even feel the slightest pangs of hunger.

Hope that makes sense.
:peace:

Herb gardener...
I too have struggled to keep weight on all my life, so the munchies were my friend to help me fight my fat burning high metabolism...

But now I've started to put a bit further weight on, I've decided to stop with text munch so much...

Anyway my experience with the munch, (strain dependant a bit), is that getting high takes away my appetite, for about half hour to an hour, then I get hungry...

If i get in and vape right before my dinner, I will ruin it...

when i started using cannabis I was over weight some. after a few months I had gotten to a stable weight for my size and have stayed there for years( a tiny bit heavy in winter). I would actually go smoke a few puffs to replace a meal, I do not do it that way now as much though as I tend to get munchies more frequently...

I too do not get the munchies. In fact, I have lost just over 175 lbs with the help of cannabis. I eat less, food taste great, and workout sessions are far more interesting.

This is very interesting. I will keep everyone updated. It has been hard for me to lose weight in these passed few years. I actually don't eat much but I need to watch my calories. I have been tracking them and keeping at my deifcient. I am also working out but I have done all the steps in the pass to lose weight but nothing was budging on the scale. So I hope with my new regime I see a change. I am not vaping daily either.

Cannabis actually changed my relationship with food. I would normally just inhale what ever was in front of me, now I have become mindful of taste, texture, and aroma. In turn, I now eat a fraction of what I used to. I initially started cannabis for panic disorder, I had no idea it would also have this wonderful side effect.

Hey everyone I am back with updates. So I am staring to see how the cannabis is helping. I don't vape daily or consume every day. For a few days I haven't vapes or eaten any cannabis and I started to eat stuff I shouldn't. I think I am a stress eater and the cannabis is helping with it along with anxiety.

Woohoo! Wonderful! I know for me, unhealthy eating habits proportionally increase with stress and anxiety. It can be so hard to break out of the anxiety cycle if I start to snowball into circles of panic.

I do not get "munchies"
I was at 119-130 pounds for over 2 years following a surgery.
I made cannabutter... and my wife made caramels for me.
I ate them in the mornings when I was queasy or nauseated... they help that condition fast.
I started eating them in the evening also as a sweet treat.
My appetite picked up after a few months.
That was over a year ago.
In 6 months after starting the caramels, I was up to my original weight of 151.
For a time I got up to 160... but I cut back on snacks.
I have a good appetite now, and still weigh 151 for over a year.
I eat only about 2 caramels a day now, and that is it... due to the Doctors warnings about cholesterol...
but I have a great appetite for healthy foods, and I am dead certain (meaning nobody could convince me otherwise) that I owe my recovery of appetite and weight on the ingestion of cannabis in medible form (caramels).

I do believe cannabis is a great regulator, helping the body find the happy medium.

I have some white widow shatter that literally shatters your appetite =) There's not too many strains that I've tried yet that do that. Gives some motivation as well so great for weight loss.

Depends on the strain for me. I have an appetite issue, and sometimes if I'm hungry and vape, my appetite goes away. But if I'm not hungry and I vape, I get huge appetite. Normally I'll try to vape before I eat because it allows me to eat more, which I need.

As long as you initiate that first bite, normally the munchies will kick in.

This is so true for me, I can have no urge to eat at all, until I eat the first bite...then there is no stopping me...

I find if I'm board and get the munch urge, I will choose to vape again, not to eat... that's cheaper for me too, and healthier....

  1. slice okra drizzle with olive oil and roast on cookie sheet at 400 (15-25 minutes)
  2. take Kale leaves (de-vein them a bit and get stalk out) place on cookie sheet..drizzle olive oil and salt bake at 300 for 15 minutes. They are Kale chips and you can eat them all day long without consequence.
They are both good recipes and the Kale keeps its nutrients through the 300º bake.
The Okra loses it's goo.
The kale tastes good.
If you can't beat the munchies..... then give in with stuff like that.

EDIT
Big edit, folks... I just did not want to seem to get up on a soapbox.
I am a serious juicer.
This is not the thread to discuss juicing.. OR an argument (or even discussion) of the pros and cons of Blenders Vs Extractors... I own both ( a few of each actually).
I juice:
  • Ginger
  • spinach
  • beets
  • jalapenos
  • apples
  • carrots
  • Kale
  • tomatoes
  • celery
I add other things too.....
I drink the juices mixed or alone.
Carrots is a biggy, but I enjoy them all.
I do not strain mine, Patty prefers hers strained, so she loses the pulpy foam, but it still is packed with nutrients.
The juicing will slow your desire to munch for the moment.
The juice gets into you fast.
I drink a quart of Carrot/ginger/beet/spinach and I am pretty full.
It tastes good too.
Cleaning up is not all that bad, and the process has become a ritual I have observed for many years.
Once your body is streaming with nutrients the appetite will naturally desire more vitamin and input, and your appetite can pick up at mealtime.

I've been seriously juicing for about a year now, it was the next big thing after converting to vaping.. We have almost the same list, but I think you are missing the king of veggies.. Broccoli that is :brow::cool:

I add other things too.....
I said other things.
Yes... cruciferous vegetables also....
Squash, Cucumber (with peel removed first) Zucchini, Beet Leaves, bok Choy, and more.
Then the fruits.,...
I use less fruits because the sugars make one have to clean the juicer more carefully..
Decaying fruit can breed Bacteria, where a vegetable won't do so.
BUT.. I have time to clean, so there are melons to drink...
Cantaloupe being best for my needs.. rind and all. watermelon rind too.
I've been seriously juicing for about a year now
No kidding, @Sapios . This makes me very happy.
I like to learn that people have decided they enjoy juicing and have incorporated it into their lives.
I eat a ton of vegetables besides.
I am almost as happy about that as I am to learn that you converted to vaping.

I have many health issues that alter day to day life....
Wheezing and Constipation don't need to be part of them!

Ok, now I have a lot to say and ask but we'll be way off topic.. In a few words, I just can't decide which habit of these two is more rewarding. Cheers!
