So my recently acquired ultra low tolerance is playing havoc with the science :science:!

And I can't leave my Daisy without any love but I have been through a couple of batteries now and feel like I am still finding my rhythm with the Mi, just had the 6th stem on the one battery and found that I kept blowing huge clouds forever as the Temps were naturally lower with the lower charge - really need to get some good practice in- riding the button to keep things cooler but the low tolerance is kicking in before the lesson is learnt!

I agree, thanks to everyone who has been reporting about their actual physical devices they hold in their hands. It's great to listen to all these user reports and see how others are using theirs!

Edit: @Oogendoogan I like my Milaana, but the Zion is killer. There are similar factors to play with that change the experience, but my favorite is that the batteries last long enough that I'm usually confused when my Zion stops giving vapor.
Is it just planet vape that is going to be selling zions? I heard of another retailer maybe? I know puff it up is a no go now :( will have to deal with planet vape I suppose just would like to avoid international anything with this stuff lol. Nice if they could get a good American retailer to deal with them. I was thinking earlier and does anyone else think that the hotspots with this thing could be turning some people off? If I didn't know better sometimes I feel like with this heater there are always the darker spots in the middle, leaving some green around the outside. I know from experience that log vapes do this as well but for portables it is weird. I hope that isn't preventing companies from jumping on board.. People maybe not taking time to hone it in at the companies and not being able to get easy video with even abv and such.. I'm sure randy had his own reasons that weren't related to using it wrong lol. and maybe it's just RBT's way of doing buisness keeping them back? but I don't see why big headshop sites, not even vape sites wouldn't sell the thing. If RBT is producing.. Just seems odd and that's the only real issue I've had with the thing and it's a non issue to me.. But it could be looked at as odd to others. Do other people get the constant darker spot? And is this a Zion thing too?

To the moaners. What bs..
If I was him I would make a list of all you heartless bitchers and never sell you one in six months when your over your periods and the Zions and Milaana's are in production and you are sitting there with your little bugger in you hand for 2 minutes waiting for it to finally get hot

Ryan the mad scientist came up with a great concept and then put it together as best he could. :leaf:

You people treat him like he was a war criminal or a politician or something.
You all saw the picture of him.. What did you expect The Fed or maybe JFK?

I don't care how eccentric he is as long as he makes what he made whenever he does and its good.

You want customer service? :D
Like "Wow I'm on my ninth relacement after 30 hours this time, but the customer service is just great!"
Rolf.

You got de mad scientist, :borg: Ryan, who has come up with the coolest new vape.

Great!
Who cares how long it takes as long as it's good!

You should forget smoking weed in your vapes!
Weed is for learning to be nice opening your hearts not badmouth people and learning to be patient.
Hip actually.

Oh but then again you are not cool you're patients..
:leaf:
ymmv.

Milaana. Lana. LANA. LANAAAA! (TM2/TP80/BAK/FW9)
Fuckkkk! Wish you had one still, that's exactly what I'm talking about, think it would be great!

Hearing everyone have such an out of the box great time makes me question my own vape skillz, could be batteries will buy a another batch, but I dunno.
I just don't seem to be getting it.

Also basket screen with a dome inside, interesting!

E juice works a treat in this too! Reallllly looks like an e cig mod then.

Okay, technique improving by the minute, I think what I thought was slow was not slow enough given in not used to such a free flowing vape, starting the draw at turtle speed, and adjusting draw/button once I am feeling the vaper.
Such an open air path is different, I loved how easy the VG coil was to milk but the very open air path put me off, will take a bit more getting used to, but the results have been much better.

Using basket, and j hook.
Mmmmm, interesting. I find the 18m load size too big, draw too open and stirring still nescessary, might see if I can find a female reducer that fits nice and see how that goes for something different.

Yeah i don't know all you're vape experience, but try not to use anything you learned from VG or VapCap here, they're just essay too different man. I think you can het it with practice if you stick with it, even try using nothing else, it really seems to be your technique. You can draw faster when it is hotter, but it's about pulling heat from a temp rising steel mass into the stem through your herbs, so a controlled draw in some sense, and really the 18mm can do small loads, just need to cover the screen so no air can get through without vaping herbs.

When I used the reducer, I was actually not filling a small 14mm bowl (getting a screen to stay in there would be a real bitch, and i remember Pak saying it liked to move when you stirred, and you had to stir bc of the narrower airpath making hot spots) since it left a half inch in the reducer, so the reducer was actually my 18mm bowl and then I would put the other end in a bong i had, it wouldn't really be what youre looking for, but @Alan is exploring using cork or silicone to make a seal so you can use a narrower tube and his two screen system for micro no stir loads... However again stirring is possible to avoid here, again it comes to your technique, stay at it man you can get it.

What was your experience like with it?
I too bought a 14 to "19/22" bushing adapter that doesn't quite fit in Milaana :\ (planning to try it with an Underdog GonG stem)

Yeah posted above, ultimately no real benefit, you can search in the Zion thread for my exact report and photos though

PIU has some specific stipulations that he and RBT disagreed over I believe, among other things I am sure. However another US retailer has joined in, I think VaporGeekz was mentioned before, and they may have various accessories including male to males as well

Also the dark spot is easily avoidable, I rarely get it, just hone your technique further, other variables etc. In Zion it is even less of an issue with the production heaters, it roasts through the center with an even extraction from some form of vortex airflow, Milaana is more like my orignal beta Zion heater, a bit simpler (and slightly smaller than both). You can get a more even extraction laying off the button with using residual heat to finish hits, plus draw and pack

Thank you! I will check out the us retailer. I have been able to avoid dark spots as well. Just took a while. Now my avb looks exactly how my e nano used to which is cool. Your really making me want a Zion lol. I am actually going to Thailand for a month. vaping there is almost and impossabilty :/ but you can get lots of cheap herb.. Still it will be quite the t break for me and if I wasn't going to be spending most of the time on beautiful beaches I wouldn't be able to handle not vaping for that long. I see a mission of vaping in Thailand in my future lol.. That will be interesting. Anyways when I get back hopefully the Zion will be closer to ready and I can then save some money to buy one because it sounds like it will literally blow me away. @Tommy10 i really hope you get the hang of this thing, but you saying that even when you get good results you still like your VapCap.. That makes me really want mine to come lol. Can't wait!
Cheers everyone!

I find the 'hotspot' easy to avoid now, but I tried something which makes it useful too.
I put a little bit of shatter right in the middle of my load, where the hotspot appears on my Milaana, then deliberately heatsoak a little too long and pull a little too hard.
This melted the shatter into the load beautifully, which seemed to protect the load from scorching even when heavily provoked!
Effects were somewhere between heavy, and epic.

I've ordered a digital charger to replace the crappy 'HouseFire' model I currently have, and I also intend to get an e-vic VTC mini, both for use as a vape, and a voltage checker for my Mi' batteries.
I don't suppose it's possible to use the VTC to charge a 18650 is it?
If so it'll make a very handy traveling companion to the Mi'.

hi guys, just reporting that I used my arizer air batteries in my milaana yesterday to see how they do. Worked fine, seems like I had to hold down the button longer to get it up to the right temps. This was a fully charged battery. I'm not exactly sure on specs on the Air's 18650, but it worked. If anyone knows, should this battery have affected the way it performs compared to the stock LG one RBT provides?

Hmm no, you are probably damaging your Air batteries in the process! Please really be careful with Li-Ion batteries, you have the equivalent of an unregulated mech-mod in your hands and all dramatic accidents (including severe face and hands damage) that you hear about e-cigs in the press are precisely occuring under these conditions.

This is a sub-ohm heater and you need genuine high dicharge cells, period. There's no other way around it. You can think it's safe to cheat using lower discharge cells, and indeed it might work suboptimally for a while. But ultimately you are ruining your cells and putting yourself at risk.

Every time you exceed their C rating, their internal resistance will increase. Everytime the IR increases, the C rating decreases and you'll get more sag, it's a vicious circle. At some point you'll be so much above the actual C rating that the cell will become hot, and eventually vent and explode on you, taking part of your mouth and nose out in the process and finally setting your house on fire while you lay unconscious on the floor (okay this was overly dramatic on purpose but really THIS IS SERIOUS :borg:)

just had the 6th stem on the one battery and found that I kept blowing huge clouds forever as the Temps were naturally lower with the lower charge

Following the same principle, you can completely ruin your cells with the Mi, there's strictly no over-discharge protection. In my alpha Zion which had no protection like the Mi, I once drove my cells down to 2.45V and while it was a bit anemic, it was still producing vapor...

I know it's a pain but you need to check your cells voltage often. If they are below 3.6V when you start, you should be cautious: either recharge them or closely watch how much you need to preheat and stop just before there's a significant increase.

I don't suppose it's possible to use the VTC to charge a 18650 is it?

It supports it yes, over USB. For some reason people on ecig forums and channels don't recommend charging directly with your mod, rumors about crap charging IC's I figured. I only did it once with mine and it worked fine.

I tried stealth & regular Solos stems on Milanesa. I use a silicon brewery stopper that comes with a hole already. It matches so so the 18F. I need to contact pressure seal with my thumb while drawing. Works ok IMO.
I precisely measure the depth of the bowl bottom sitting with the US 18M length or shorter . Depends on user taste.
Makes sense?? I'll post pictures after work.
More tries later.
Stay vaped my friends.

Please, folk, heed @KeroZen s advice. These batteries can cause real harm if their cautions are ignored... https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=18650+battery+explosion

The way I use Bam Bam I always need to stir. But I hit it really hard and move a lot of air, especially when thru water. If I am hitting it dry and casually I CAN get thru a bowl without stirring, but I rarely am that patient. If I want to sip I will usually use something else...

So yeah I went on the battery safety thread and there is a chart in there that shows the best 18650s I got the Sony VTC4 barteries, two of them. they outlast the lg one my Mi came with and they're pretty cheap on the web. I got them from vapesociety.com they have free us shipping :) be careful with the battery's you use and how you use them guys! Learn the guitar pick mod from @Vape Dr. to keep your battery in the unit without misfires, and store batteries safe. This thing is unregulated, meaning only you are protecting yourself from potential blow ups etc. be careful guys!
Edit: received adapters from shopxhale.com the screens literally fall through and the one installed is too far down, and allows bud to fall around the sides of it.. Plz come with that screen press @Ratchett !! Or let these OGB male to males be nice and fat. If it wasn't for the silicone mod I would be screwed lol. Thanks again @Vape Dr. if anyone ever deserved two tags it was you my vape mod genius friend ;)
