Liger banger V2.0

I use 625 degrees with the silicon carbide insert. I've played around with temps as low as 600 but that just leaves too much oil in the dish. Higher than 650 and my lungs start hating me. 625 is the sweet spot.
Thank you kindly Sir! I'll try that temp! I've been as low as 560 and if the dab is the right size and the cap is hot enough that is just unbelievable! But if the dab is too big or you fumble with the cap, then it's a wasted dab. I've been at 660 and didn't care for it. 645 was decent but i desired more flavor. So tonight I'm on my VB2 and I'll go back to the. Dnail and Liger tomorrow and try that 625!!

I'm still dialing in my temp. I've been pretty happy with 640-660. 680 still tastes great, but definitely harsher. I haven't tried lower than 640 with the SiC insert yet. I'm going to try lower next. I try not to get too out of control with the dabs to keep my tolerance in check.

I'm using the auberin rdk 200 with a 20mm coil and 605 seems to be the ideal temp give or take..but i need to calibrate this thing with IR, that could be way off.

Ive inched mine up to 650 because I usually just put the cap on with wax on the dabber and let it drip into the SIC. 625 that process took a while. 650 seems much better.

I gotta say... I really hate the carb cap for this nail. The handle itself is great but the sealing mechanism is poor and the tips are not really usable for someone who isnt trying to take half a gram dabs. The tips should really be smaller.

I dont think so. Its only a couple of months old. Josh is sending me a new one tho.

Id like to see more of a beveled piece for sealing so you drop it into the cup and it just seals instead of having to try to line up the seal. You could even put steps on it and use the same cap for the 16mm and 20mm piece.

After hearing so many good things about the Liger and SiC Insert I bit the bullet and ordered a 20mm Liger w/ SiC and a Storm Cap (and an Auber RDK-200) I ordered em a couple weeks ago, my stuff from Auber got here today. I don't think I made the wait for the Liger any easier by picking up a half of Green Crack and Blue Cheese Shatter this morning.

You can just send that to me. Make it easier for you to wait.

lol, to make matters worse I just had an extract company offer to send me a some free samples so it looks like I have another 8 strains on the way. Here's hoping my Liger doesn't sit at the Canadian border for too long, I feel like a kid waiting for xmas!

you'll enjoy yourself for sure. it's a really clean piece of tech. i'm in the same boat as you just waiting for the carb cap. it should be here today i think.

i was kind of hoping that's how it works..sad to hear you have to line it up. the interior rim of the liger is beveled so i kind of made the assumption. in any case, i'm really excited for the air flow adjust. i've been carbing the liger with a quartz banger and when you cap it too hard i feel like the convection can actually burn the dab a little bit. my daily driver is a diffusion pump which has a ton of airflow so i really need some nice, even restriction.

I'm sure I will, everything shipped yesterday. I enjoyed your GG#4 review on ccc420 a few weeks back, keep em coming!

Stoked for my gold Liger, 20mm SiC insert, and gold storm cell carb cap! Just put in my order last night -- fingers crossed it gets here and I can spend some time with them.

I ordered another Liger v2 a Master Cap and the new Quartz insert (I already have the Sic) on April 9 and Josh just emailed me that it would be sent out the beginning of next week. The Liger and its accessories are well built and meticulously detailed but you're gonna wait. Josh kept me updated with my order's status (it was the Quartz insert that was delaying everything) and offered me a Sic insert in place of the Quartz. As I said, I already I had a Sic and figured I'll have to wait. I read many of you have had long waits and yes it f'n sucks but I still feel Josh's merchandise is worth the wait.

That's great to hear that it's top quality, but I truthfully should have looked around on here for this thread before I ordered so that I could temper my expectations. The site said 7-10 days which I already anticipated; hopefully it's not too far beyond that. Wouldn't hurt for him to include that on the website when you're adding products to the cart, but I'm glad to hear he kept in contact with you about it. This'll be my first SiC experience after exclusively using the Pukinbeagle domeless quartz knockoffs from DHGate, so I'm extra curious/eager for it to arrive.

Sapphire Powered Dabstronaut.
I received my Liger V2 with StormCell Cap and SiC insert yesterday.

Very pretty:

dZB4i65.jpg

I've only used it for dabbed 6 dabs.
But after lengthening the dabber slightly and changing the airflow in the StormCell cap from open to most restrictive (and upping my temp), I'm extremely happy.
Using my AuberRDK-200 with D-Nail 20mm heat runner 629* was toooo cold, 659* still too cold, 689* is very nice (perhaps a bit hot).
Some have mentioned that their carb-cap just sits on top of their bucket, my carb-cap sits snugly inside the top of the 20mm bucket.

I think that I'm going to pick up a thermometer to get actual dish temperatures.
I typically run my SiC Halo w/o heat retainer @ 629*.
Sapphire Halo with heat retainer between the coil and Halo @ 609*.
It would be interesting to see the actual dish temperatures.

I need more time using it to develop a more informed opinion regarding efficacy, ergonomics, taste, reclaim, etc. .

However, I do really like the adjustibility of the StormCell cap, especially the variable airflow.
The first dab I did with the "carbs" opened all the way and at too low of a temp (for my set-up anyway) was rather underwelming.
After making the aforementioned adjustments I am getting full burn, good taste, and great purr through the rig.

Liger V2 SiC VS DNail SiC Halo seem pretty close in terms of performance.

The Sapphire Halo still slays all comers.

Just got the next gen. Prototype Storm cell cap. WOW. Josh fine tuned the variable air flow system so it's VERY easy to change the flow and see what setting you are on. The evolution of these Storm cell caps is as amazing as the Liger and inserts they go on. Check out the family photo to see a nice progress. I left the Honey Hole caps out since that was a different model. The new caps air flow system is so nice. I have been playing with the difference from wide open to restricted. My crumble likes a little more air flow where my shatter like a little more restricted flow. I love this thing. He did move away from the heat reducing skeleton arm on this model which I liked a lot. That was a cool feature. But the air flow adjustment is so great on this one. Only a prototype but as always CCA Products are constantly evolving and improving. That being said I still use my gen 1 and 2 storm cell caps since he keeps everything compatible!

So close! Josh had all the pieces for my order except the 20mm SiC inserts. Hopefully it gets here before I leave for a month :ugh:

When the Facts Change, I Change My Mind.
I know! I'm 47 and find there's a distinct age difference. My 22-year-old friend came over, saw my Mobius piece and e-nail, and said "Nice rig!". My friends in their 40s come over and say "What's that?" (then I get them baked / educate them on dabbing).

You educate them before or after you wreck them? :)

Well
Getting my Liger and storm cell carb cap was sweet! These things feel like they're crafted extremely well. Just wish they had the SiC insert in stock!

I just got the next round of Quartz inserts in. I have been using mine instead of the SiC inserts all weekend, they are really great. Not a huge difference in flavor or temp really, these new inserts have a little better heat transfer than the old design since he went away from the double cup inserts. These have a big thick base that rests on the Ti and goes right to the edge! Heat retention is fantastic due to the thick quartz base against Ti for large dabs on the 16mm and 20mm, and the V3.0 flat coil version is absolutely huge!!!

If the SiC inserts are not in, don't hesitate to get a Quartz insert, I prefer them to Sic sometimes!
