Ff2 made it. Seems pretty solid so far. Set it to medium and still got a nice little cloud. Hand torn grind, and I can't tell you how cool the goods are. 3-4 pulls and medication is still green fairly green. Taste is almost like you could imagine if you just took a bite of it. Heating time was 3-4 seconds maybe and ready to go.

Compared to my pax2, well, just cleaner, NO smell. I really like the stealthy look and ease of use with the pax2, but it reeks. Literally smells strong. Very ease for me to get some medium size clouds with pax2. Seemed a little warmer though cloud wise. Taste isn't even close after a little bit with pax2, ff2 easily wins that. I like a lot of stuff with the pax2, but ff2 wins for me if I could only have one. But pax2 just does what it does and it won't be kicked out of the house. Pax2 is other than the smell and taste is also great to me.

I can see the ff2 being perfect when you got limited vape opportunities. It heats up so fast you can run to the bathroom/stall take a couple of tokes and be back amongst the unknowing. It has very little stink as stated above. For me I would use my haze v3 before I went into the movie in my car. If it was a long movie just shoot to the restroom for a minute, cuz thats how long it takes to get a couple of good rips off the ff2 and be back in my seat. It is the least stinky vape I own.

The vapor is nearly odorless. I have noticed that my unit is starting to smell a bit though. No more than my Crafty, but there is definitely an odor when you put your nose near it. I probably need to clean my mouthpiece though...

Do any of you guys have a recommendation on a good smell insulating case for this baby?
I think @Sh4dy15 got this one and loves it.

I was actually considering getting it before he recommended it, but I've still managed to put it off. I just keep mine in the sleeve that came with my sunglasses, but that is not smell-proof.

EDIT: I'm not 100% certain this is the same case as Sh4dy15, but it's very similar. Not sure where he got his either.

FF1 battery charging dock works with FF2. If you do get it be sure to get the original charging cord and not the new USB cord. Hope that helps.

Hey Pete, I do appreciate the heads up in case I hadn't been aware, but I'm guess you missed my earlier post on the subject. (I was replying to myself in that one). Anyway, these were my thoughts on the charger.

"I can't commend them enough for the decision to include 2 batteries (and for making them removable for that matter) but this just makes their decision to go with a cradle over an external so illogical that it boggles my mind. Especially from a team that clearly gets great design on a level that few do. And of course I am aware that I can buy the external for the ff1 (and shell out the extra for the adapter as well...) but the external is what should be in the box. Not the cradle."

An external is pretty much essential to take advantage of having swappable batteries. Given the price of the unit, I am disappointed that I have to shell out an extra $45 if I want that. I guess they may have been banking on most of the purchasers being ff1 customers who wouldn't want a duplicate charger, but that seems like a bad call to me. I really think that the external should be the "default" charger. Or, if they really wanted to hit customer satisfaction out of the park, making it an option at checkout to select your preferred charger.

Yep! Thats it!

Haven't had any issues with smell and it definitely seeps it safe with padding and holds everything...

Ah! I'm scanning through this thread so quick I'm not picking up who wrote what, lol. Sorry about that. I totally understand. I was one of those who ended up purchasing an external charger. For the price point of the vape I would think it fair to include both. But then again, I'm not their marketing department.

The Blue FF2 I ordered just showed up today!!:rofl:Happy dance:rofl:

It is now on the charger, I am excited to see how this compares to my review unit. I do notice a bit of silicone/plastic smell from the lid on the new unit, something I did not have with my review unit. I currently have the lid off while its charging to see the smell dissipates.

Can someone please tell me how the mouthpiece screen works? It came off and I don't know how to put it back on and I've got a mouthful of shit.

Thanks.

Check out the website..there's one pictured..in the list of accessories/parts for sale. This may be helpful? It slides back into place fairly easily. Good luck!

So far this thing still impresses me, the vapor is so clean and very powerful. If you're used to red hot rails you might say the vapor is light, but when you feel how strong the effect is you won't be missing that hot dry cough inducing vapor at all.

Here's a few things I've noticed so far:

Cleaning the Firefly 2 is as fast as advertised. literally 30 seconds are between noticing its dirty and having it fully cleaned.

I've found that a best practice for concentrate is a ~10 second first draw and then longer ~20-30 second draws from that point on works the best in terms of cloud production.

I'd also recommend drawing at the natural pressure the vape leads you to, if I feel any resistance I know to slow my draw a little.

You can tell if you put your lid on wrong if the air resistance is extremely light.

The battery meter doesn't work, so I'm not exactly sure what the battery life is like.

Overall I have to say it's a great vape, the ease of use and instant heating as well as the easy of cleaning make it my first choice right now.

Finally had a chance to catch up with Sasha at Firefly. I hope I remembered to cover the salient topics. First, this:

This is the case for the FF2 that will be available in the next few weeks. (Someone was just asking about cases!)

LIDS: They haven't seen many defective lids, and most folks with seal issues have a resolution with a little learning curve help and by keeping debris off the seal. But obviously there could be some defective lids out there and they are trying to separate the real problems from the technique issues.

Speaking of lids they are considering a "two for one" lid promotion in the near future. I expressed much enthusiasm for this idea.:clap:

EDIT: Something I did forget....apparently blue is by far the most popular color.

APP BATTERY INDICATOR: I mentioned that some of us have experienced accuracy issues. The app gets its data directly from the device, so three flashes on the FF will show as 75% full on the app indicator (in other words, any inaccuracies on the app meter will also show upon the device itself). Apparently if the battery has been charged partially but not fully it can cause the indicators to read fuller than they should....this may be the issue that some of us have noticed. (If anyone has issues with the app and the device light disagreeing, they would love to see a video of that so they can trouble shoot.) There's a firmware update coming soon that will improve a couple things on the app including the battery indicator....not sure what else is in this update.

RETURNED UNITS: They've had very few units returned so far....so few that Sasha and Mark are testing each return themselves. He didn't quantify the return rate but given the number they must have shipped it's probably well below 1%.

I think that's most of what we covered. In a shocking twist, I may have forgotten something....but I'll remember it eventually.

it has its own effect I guess.

seems like I need to draw uncomfortably hard on it to get anything you might consider a "big cloud". although not impossible it's a long heavily resisted draw, and the effort is headache inducing. I've had my ff2 for a few days now I did not want to post my knee jerk reaction, would've been hasty and frankly, harsh.

stirring the material all the time is totally bothersome. it's alresdy glowing around the material in a very pipe like matter, clearly indicative of cannabis usage. even an untrained eye / nose will become aware of its contents when forced to open the lid and stir to get (maintain) performance. blah this is more of a hassle than expected, I don't like the attention it requires nor do I like the attention it attracts.

the grind level seems to be extremely important, the level which you pack the bowl is vital, the speed of air at which you draw, the amount of lip suction / extra oxygen being allowed into the airspace, I'm getting exhausted talking about it.

ok so let's just put it on high and get some clouds right? eww ... gross crispy clouds. SIGH

I mean I don't know what else to expect at 400/420 degrees but I was inclined to believe that the high setting would take out some of this guess work. not exactly.

dial back down to medium low and see if I can work some magic and get that nice full hit with flavor in tact. did I pack this thing perfectly ? am I holding it horizontally enough when I hit it?

why did I spend 300 dollars and wait 6 weeks to feel so fucking challengers is my question to myself? idk! would I do it all again? FUCK NO. I can get a great hit or two of of this thing if I try really hard, ugh. it's just so inconvenient I'm really disturbed. yeah you can wipe it down all quick if it looks a little dirty, umm great. too bad I have to open it and stir it so much that little bits of material inevitably fall out of the unit or into the vapor path itself. making a quick on the fly wipe necessary.

I meant to say some nice things about my ff2 but as I write this I'm getting pretty pissed off I must admit. this might be awesome from an extremely casual user or someone like my mom who's never actually smoked or vaped cannabis in any method. simply because of the subtlety(?) of the vapor when drawing into your lungs.

oh it's cool for concentrates, I did get a nice flavor profile from a little live resin I tried.

I just hit it again. slow calculated smooth draw mmmmmmmmmmmmm like 20 seconds (wtf) lol exhale I get a little flavor, visually next to nothing. ok then I go full suck face on it and I get a decent cloud, pretty good hit, pressure in my temple is instant and now I've got a minor headache to accompany my nice little buzz. it's fucking lame. I haven't got a headache hitting weed since I used a bic. a nasty abv hit or full temp cloud evo hit on accident only made for a poor taste in my mouth. lol to get a GOOD hit I'm causing myself cerebral discomfort with the ff2.

I'm frustrated, I was so excited to own and enjoy the latest and greatest vaporizer.... turns out I already owned it. it's embarrassing to be so excited about something then to receive it and feel so underwhelmed. I've already been hitting my mighty instead, really have 0 desire to take the ff2 with me when I leave the house. the instant heating "advantage" I was longing for isn't worth a damn when I can't just rip the thing right away anyways.

if I had known these mighty / crafty capsules were going to come out and be so damn effective I might have heen able to spare myself the ff2 expense. the whole experience just has me so unhappy. portable on demand vapor with amazing taste was my expectation. what I have here is a headache inducing headache. lol I must admit the thought of spiking it on the asphalt crossed my mind a couple times, not from anger but just a simple "WTF is this?! ugh <smash>(walk away)" fantasy.

because honestly, more wires more concentrate pads, nickel and dime'd over a external battery charger with no fucking ac wall adapter included, etc etc I just want it all to go away it's like clutter now. rather than look at it like its a fucking riddle to be solved i really just want it out of my sight. not what I signed up for, what a fucking let down! too many variables just to get a single decent hit.

the direction of art and marketing for the ff2 had my instincts sending my red flags. if only I had listened! the fuck is with all that ugly woman / pastel drenched / faux artistry crap they have on their social media pages. really disturbing to me but that's just my opinion.

ok team 15 minutes later and my headache is far worse, how to take your top sheld meds and ruin your own afternoon thanks firefly2! :( ugh

I just got my FF2 today, and I'm feeling ya on a lot of what you say. I do think it performs better with coarser herb. Finer herb for me got sucked into the airway (and clogged the mouthpiece).

Yes, concentrates is where this thing shines. The taste of the wax is much better in the FF2 than say my Kandypen. However, it takes a 12-15 second hit when I can get the same results and get a awesome cloud with a 3 second draw from my KP. I'm going to give it a few days and see if I can work out the learning curve on this device. But as for now, I'm very, very underwhelmed.

I do have a Grasshopper on order. Maybe that will be a better design.

I just put in my order for the White, so I can test the theory that they could possibly be in stock. Crossing my fingers that it's true!

haha, me too!!! I like the white even though it is not that stealthy, my GH can do that already.

This thing rips for me! Its a lesson in discipline for me not to overdue it, and end up coughing all over the floor. The vapor is so smooth and starts off slow then comes on so strong. There is for sure a technique with this thing. I watched so many reviews from March until it showed up that maybe I just incorporated all the tips, but from day one I've been blowing big blue clouds. Stirring is required, however.

Yeah, I don't mind the white. It'll do the job. And when lids are stocked I'll just change it if I want. I don't really need it to be stealthy. Not gonna take it out in the middle of a busy street. Lol.

Still enjoying my White FF2. Sometimes clouds, sometimes not, but ALWAYS delivs dem meds.

heres a nuance I've noticed. Fresh bowl you can get away with a LSD. End of bowl a long hard inhalation is still delivering the goods whereas a LSD would leave you unmedicated any further. That makes sense doesn't it?

Or maybe who knows, b/c I'm wrecked in the best possible shiny, happy, stoned kind-o-way.

I do have a Pax2 also but the convection sitch on the FF2 has got me reaching for it everytime.

Now dat's what I'm talking' bout.

BTW I only ever give it a shake to stir- seems to work if packed correctly to begin with.:leaf::rofl::leaf:

I experience the most heated bud is in the center at the bottom. I don't know if I would call it "charred," but that's probably the best description for it.

Same here, I'm usually left with a toasted little core, surrounded by less-vaped/unvaped stuff. It's a little annoying having to find the "sweet spot" where everything gets fully vaped.

BTW I only ever give it a shake to stir- seems to work if packed correctly to begin with.:leaf::rofl::leaf:

Could you post a pic of your perfectly-packed bowl? I pack it pretty tightly, so shaking doesn't do anything usually.

End of the 2nd day with my FF2 and I initially have had some solid hits with a good amount of vapor in the first few hits and towards the end of the bowl it lessens to a very small amount.
Think I need to keep working on my technique so I hope I can improve more.

The vapor I do get is top shelf. Great taste, as others have stated, and it does give me a really good happy high.

I do have a 2 questions and a small problem though.
My first question resolves the bowl. If you look in the bottom/outer brim of the bowl I have a little buildup it looks like. I don't grind too fine but it looks like I have small amounts of material in that small gap. I know vape critic said air duster helps out if debris falls into the circles in the bowl and I sure it'll work for that too. Anyone else have this occurance? Any comments??

2nd question regards the led light when you are using the vape. Most, if not all, my first hits (when not using vape for hours or more) the green light flashes a few times while it warms up. But if I take a hit right after, or even a couple minutes later, the green light doesn't not flash it just turns straight green and I see my bowl light up. This is normal I am guessing right? I just haven't heard anyone talk about it. don't think anything is wrong

And finally my problem is I cannot seem to get my mouthpiece off. I have tried wiggling it and squeezing it a little. I have to be missing somthing though cause it won't budge.

-thanks in advance m8's.
