I too work with wood. My unit was BURNT, and not by a router. Moot point IIRC the mi and zi are made on a CNC machine.

Funny everyone's mark is more or less in the exact same mark and yet there's tooling on all sides..

Ok, explain my Zion having the same marks on its bottom, with no removable panel?

A dull bit on a CNC will burn as well.

Kind of was hoping to get an unannounced delivery before the Canadian long weekend.....but nada
Left a couple of PM's with @charchol since this past Tuesday...... and no response to either PM

If it hasn't been sent out yet....that is fine - but I just would like to know that is the case. If it has been sent out already ......then the shipping date and a tracking number would be nice.

I am a February 2016 order and it was also kind of disappointing to hear that some people have actually ordered a second unit after receiving their 4/20 units (at a far later date than my first order) and already received their 2nd units with delivery taking place around a week ago at least while I haven't even seen my first unit ......and Toronto, Canada is far closer to New York than most US states.

It sure would have been nice to have it to play with over the weekend ......or at least to even have had a response to my PM's

RBT's customer service has been known to be less than stellar. Hope you hear something soon.

No more charring, figured out the way I like to pack this thing. My male to males I have laying around suck for screens so thank you so much @Vape Dr. for the silicone mod! Working great with a dome screen pushed up a little bit from where it comes with a 3/4 full loose pack. 2 milky hits, one so so to finish it and I'm good. Loving this thing.. Really is all about the way you use it.

I'm of the impression this mark is from some sort of creation process and not from opening the bottom :worms: It makes no sense if they all have this mark why glue the bottom on every one only to have to burn them to open again? Whould be double handling and probably not what is going on here. Im thinking standing flat on sanding belt to flatten bottom?

If it were on all units maybe that would be feasible, if the marks were anywhere else (where they surely were tooled by the same machines). My initial run unit had most definitely not ever seen a sander, though the burns on your unit in particular look like that could be the case (or left on a hot flat surface too long!). The burn on my own and as I've observed on other units was much less uniform and smaller.

Also if it were a dull bit then both RBT's and the new manufacturers are in question. Since some of the units from both feature the telling mark. Need I remind you guys that the unit is in fact accessed by warming the bottom cap (which they should change or make tamper proof somehow, security screws possibly?)? Like I said its just my .02, you can leave it if you like.:peace:

Yeah, I know .....but Ryan has actually been not too bad in replying to my queries......and has been pretty friendly when he has replied. I also felt like he really valued me as a customer in his replies. The first reply I got from him was actually a day or two after my query (I guess I got lucky that time) and the other replies were a little longer.

I didn't email him this time around because I figured that he had new people working with him doing the CS liaison thing and didn't want to bother him now if there was a new system in place for contact.

Oh well......back to the waiting game. But I still think that it was unfair to ship out 2nd units to other people before everybody's initial pre-order was looked after.

I don't think that there was any malice involved in that happening - but I don't think that such a situation should have been allowed to occur.

:bang::rant: OK, I think I've got the "ranting" out of my system now ......and I've tried to keep it as mild as possible .....oh well, the good news is that I've got something else that is new to feed my Apollo and Supreme this weekend - so there is that to look forward to

Can't wait to get my Milaana. I plan on staining the maple body once I get it. I have some very bold colored tung oil/stains: yellow, pink, green. After staining I will hit the wood with fine steel wool or probably very fine finishing grit sandpaper to make it soft as a baby's butt. This is similar to how I would oil up my maple guitar necks back in the day. Millions of coats of tung oil, then fine steel wool. That treatment might be overkill for the Milaana.

Anybody have a stained Milaana yet?

Yes he holds his stem with it. I still say a stem/stash dugout would be perfect for this
like the Dynastash..? I mean the Zion comes with the ability to stash, but if the milaana is to be their portable model, I mean more portable at least, I think a 18mm dugout that could hold a stem would sell quite a bit? Out with my Milaana, about to watch the pens kick ass.
Cheers everyone stay vaped!

But I like it!
So batt 3 or 4 on Milli and I was concerned that it's running a bit cool. Switched back to Zion for a bit (nothing beats Zion ;) and back to Milli, and a slight overfill, light pack, and horsing on Milli got combustion, so it's not running much lower, if any.

I got some cute double F's from an EQ that are too big to hold a screen. The biggest screen I can find sort-of scrunches in like a contact lens, but not enough force to hold.

Has anyone figured out roughly how many stems per battery? Because I keep losing count... :whoa:

@Oogendoogan Jyarz has a jar that is just big enough to stuff the stem in, and holds enough for a long weekend. It sits in the pocket, with my car keys, at 3/4 full...

Looks like a job for!
Well here goes trying some pics again.

Edit. Zoom in on the bottom you can see the sanding lines corroborating my story

I have yet to get mine.
So I have obviously only seen the pics which are posted here.

That burn pic most certainly looks like a hot sanding belt or more likely a router burn.

I honestly think too many people are jumping on the tiny point @Dan Morrison made that glue can be removed with heat.

Yes it can, but it really does not make sense to RELY on that for a large glue surface on wood/wood.
The wood pores absorb glue, and no amount of heat or washing ever gets ALL of it out. This in the long run will weaken the final bond.

Why would you ever logically do that? Temporary clamping the wood housing and briefly testing what is needed would be more than sufficient. That doesn't cost you glue and torch fuel every time nor is there drying time, its instant and simple.

Take a torch and a bit of maple wood, I challenge anyone to make a torch mark that is as perfecly straight and pin point accurate as the picture @TheRobbo quoted.

Now compare this to a KNOWN router burn mark...

p_routerburnmarks.jpg

Once again.

p_121108_setspeedlimits.jpg

Now compare that to how a torch heats the wood @ its grain level and the burn marks all naturally follow the grain, NOT a perfect line on the edge of the wood.

It's a router or sanding burn, to think otherwise is frankly foolish.....:worms::tinfoil::worms::tinfoil:

Exactly as the one picture shows the Mil in question here was fed through the router very carefully and slow, not with quick confidence for a nice clean cut.

Someone just needs more router practice.

The fact the manufacturer acknowledges they are still improving their woodworking skills SCREAMS this out to you.

Between about 4-6 depending on size.
1 bowl drops my batt from 4.2-4.1 thru a bubbler with 2-3 massive hits. So I can get quit a few bowls.
Realistically though, for the average bowls, it's about 4 for the most part, up to 6 of you squeeze.

I have needed some Jyarz for a while.. I guess it's time to place an order. Can you specify which one it is? A link would be cool but in sure with a description I can find. Pretty sure they are an FC retailer.
Cheers!

Is there a recommended place to buy Hemp Fiber? Or a recommended type of Hemp Fiber that would be best for inserting in the stems?

Loving the Mi more and more, haven't used another vape since getting it, and a couple of my friends have asked where they can get one. Going to be very very popular I would guess.

Very jealous of the look the to new unit, I'll probably end up buying a second myself! Still waiting on Zion for going on 9 months and I'm now sure it'll be worth the wait.

I got some from Dynavap.com because I trust George and also was able to add it to an existing order.. 7 dollars shipping did not apply so 5 dollars was fair. For you to place a new order it will be 12$ that's 7$ shipping. But I know it's legit and will work so that's why I recommend.

This is my situation to a tee, with the minor variation that i sent a brief email to Sheila 2 days ago asking if it had been sent and what date. No reply. She was very prompt with replies a few weeks ago with address confirmation and invoice etc, but now nothing.

Possibly due to part time hours, but with your pm's also not answered, CS seems to have taken a dive after a brief period of flight.

Would be nice to know if it is actually close or even on it's way. That would avoid daily disappointment as i wouldn't bother to check the postbox.

I agree; it's too bad that the joint is ISO on that particular mouthpiece, because it would have been great for direct-draw usage on the milaana. See what I did there, I brought it back home
The mouthpiece that came with my FC UFO is US. It was one of the first non-RBT stems I used with my Zion.

The glass sleeve inside my classic Jyarz is about 65mm outside. There may well be variation in the small stems, but the one I got is about 72mm, so will not fit in the Jyarz. I'm pretty sure the classic is the tallest Jyarz.

But if it DID fit I might not use it anyway as a glass stem bouncing around inside a glass jar... If the herb kept it from bouncing maybe, but then I am expecting to use the herb...

Hello again!

Nothing too special here, was just bored.

Here's a super quick DIY stir pick "mod" if you will.

Get a straight pin and a pair of needle nose pliers. bend the pin like this.

Here it installed.

Slide it down by the battery, if your Milaana is like mine there is room in the battery hole.
Prior to this I trimmed a business card and slid it in the hole so the battery was more "snug".
I'm sure all tolerances will vary in the battery hole a bit so be safe and make sure you won't damage the battery skin if you try this.

Out.

Side view shows I added a thicker washer to lift the lid a tad to keep the ball on the pin to hide it and for easier removal.
The extra thicker washer allows the ball to hide under the lid.

PLEASE If you try this make certain you have room in your battery compartment with the battery in so you don't tear the skin off of the battery. :worms:

A sewing needle will also work. It is thinner but harder to make a 90 degree bend.

I am going to make a better pick holder but this works well enough and is quick. I have a few other ideas brewing too so stay posted.:brow:

The screen air filter cover was made by wrapping a 3/4" SS screen around the negative end of a AAA battery and a little bit of tweaking. :)
It looked much cleaner at first but I've taken it out about 20 times or so working on another mod.:ninja:

Next time I will post how to use a glass heat island roasting tube as a micro dose stem along with other pics of many different mouthpieces that fit well and how to make many simple custom mouthpieces.

THIS THING FUCKING ROCKS!!!

@Vapenvy I believe @Shit Snacks posted about sheila being overwhelmed and they have someone new working now who is just fantastic named Rhonda I believe?:hmm:

I checked mine and it seems to be US joint...

Wow this thing just really helped my mood after that horrible penguins game lol. Two stems and I'm gone. Not used to using so little bud. I even milked my 14inch zob beaker which was cool but not as nice as my matrix :) this thing packs a punch.. Not sure exactly what it is but the vapor is so thick.. It also seems to get me higher than other convection vapes? Who knows..? This thing rocks. Peace and good night everyone.
