I don't really have the time to start reading through this whole thread again but as we know gh has been changing everyone's shipping dates and feeding us false hopes. Well I had contacted them yesterday when I had noticed my shipping date is May and asked Caroline if this time the date is actually in fact true and she stated and wrote back they are on schedule and I will receive it may. Now I am taking this with a grain of salt but hoping it is true. Than I read someplace online that they have not shipped any units for over a month.

I'm sure the company doesn't want a rash of folks cancelling their orders. That would be money that GH needs to keep operations going.unless they ended up getting loans.

The every 2 week letter that GH puts out gives folks some hope that it will be soon. Just enough info to keep everybody going on faith. Hoping that it will be soon everyone.

The grasshopper is definitely worth the wait, I have a pax2 also, very different vaping experience, I'm glad I had both but if I had to choose only one it would be a GH 2.

I just ordered a FF2, it's going to be infested at my place.

One thing that I've come to appreciate since the GH is the device analogy. When I was primarily a smoker I preferred joints and spliffs so it's no surprise I like the grasshopper, where the pax2 is more like a cigar and Firefly more like a bowl. And although I don't often smoke "cigars or bowls", I do like them and glad i have them around even though I normally use the grasshopper m

Just wondering if there are any GH owners that can post their order, ship and receive dates..has anyone received theirs in a half way decent timeframe..it's not that I don't believe that it takes 17 mos it just seems like there is a lot of discrepancy out there as people seem to actually have the GH in hand...did these people literally waiting a year for their GH? Yeesh..Over a year is a lil much for my blood even for the best product around...who knows what a bigger company comes out with by then.

This thread is 349 pages long. You can almost literally go to ANY page of the thread and see how long people waited. Hell even page 1. This project wrapped up on Indie Gogo in 2013 and the first hoppers were received in 2015. Literally THOUSANDS of people have been waiting on this product, and the only ones who have gotten it in less that 13mo are the people who buy used or from the backer-retailers. That being said the amount that they have delivered since starting delivery does give me hope that they are indeed ramping up and will be able to get most of us our units before the fall (though it's what we've been told, my POV is definitely more on the side of hopeful speculation that logical reality.)

You should check out the gh shipping thread for that info. I think the mods would move any reply over there anyway.

I don't think orders after around January 15, 2015 have shipped yet. I'm a June 2015 preorder and hoping to see mine fairly soon

According to my pre-order, about 4 months.

I don't wish to be negative, but there is a LOT of evidence of GH not being very accurate or forthcoming on shipping dates and just inching them out bit by bit for a very long time. I hope you get it in four months, but I would make book on it.

They probably found out what a pain it is to track these separately to make sure everyone gets a complete kit.

Oh please....any reasonable facsimile of an order system can handle a simple back order. That's not a reason...not sure its even an excuse.

To be late is one thing, to not be completely honest and kill your customers with the death of a thousand shipping delays, does NOT speak well for these guys. Its either their competency at running a business or their ethics and honesty....but one of those is not on display with this ridiculous behavior.

I'm sure the company doesn't want a rash of folks cancelling their orders. That would be money that GH needs to keep operations going.unless they ended up getting loans.

Taking money and not delivering is not a business model, its fraud.
EVERY business is faced at some point or another with an uncomfortable fact that will impact them financially. Ethical companies are open and disclose to their customers....others, well...they just string people along.

Saying they are committing fraud is quite the allegation. They are clearly delivering units albeit at a slow pace.

My SS Grasshopper finally shipped (USPS confirmed it was picked up)! I received my address confirmation on April 28, 2016. I didn't expect it to take this long, but at least it's finally on its way.

Edit: I meant to post this in the Shipping Poll thread :(

Congrats!! Mind telling us when it was ordered...thinking about getting in line. Thanks!

Nobody has been lying about the wait dude. Everyone up to this point not ordering from vapefiend or ebay has waited at least 14-15 months, minimum. The original indiegogo people waited over two years...

Now the wait has extended past 16 months, and continues to extend out to 17 at this point.

And will likely continue to expand as they continue to string us along.

Jump on with us.

Or don't.

We all hope things change for GHL, but that is the state of things @Bdubbdiblets.

Sorry man.

lol does it have to be in my sig?! You guys are so ridiculous here ;)

1/15/15 SS then a Blue Ti

Fuckin chargers, where's the offer to send separately like the holiday backers way back when?! :p

Yeah @OMEiAM mine shipped earlier today too! Same exact thing pretty much, we've been waiting in the wings together. Guess those new charger parts came in huh? :D

So that is about a 17 month wait, I'd be pretty surprised (disappointed?) if that remains true going forward, I was a very early pre order so hopefully things are finally on the up and up, its been a long wait in between backers, retail backers, and a few lucky earlier pre orders before this, so maybe the dam is breaking and more pre orders will flood out more promptly?

Either way I'm glad to be done finally, I think I've already found overall better tools, but now I can actually confirm and enjoy this fabled wonder, still unique I'm sure. Given everything I know I am sure I can use them to their full potential as they see plenty of use all the same!

I hear you, mate. But let me ask you a question....let's take vaporization and the entire cannabis culture thing out of the picture. Let's envision GH making some other tech home appliance. Would you view their behavior toward their customers any different in that instance. Would people have this kind of patience in that situation. Would people tend to stretch to make excuses for poor execution in that scenario.

It ain't THAT much tech. They may be aerospace engineers, but they should have brought a project manager and a supplier manager with them for what I think are obvious reasons.

With an appliance there aren't very many people that would buy something that hadn't been released yet.

The vaporizer crowd are a trusting bunch. Kinda like a car where folks buy it before it's made. that would be a better comparison.

Edit
I would have bought one too @Ratchett but I don't do well waiting.

A car and an appliance cost a lot more money. I'm only in for $145 on my Grasshopper. Wasn't that big of an investment for me (and I used paypal so I have that protection as well, although it's probably useless by this point, haha)

It happens all the time these days with crowdfunded products. Almost always because the product they are releasing is their first time going through the entire process.

I disagree that there isn't that much tech in this vape. Compared with most vapes out there , I believe it is one of the most high tech. It's possible that a project manager & supply manager would have bankrupt them. Though, I'm not sure why they wouldn't have approached a VC company to get more $$ and get this thing off the ground quicker.

I believe if this product had been fully developed by an established player in the vape industry it would have been $300+, so although I hate the wait, I do like the deal I'm getting.

Hello all:wave:

Just checking in letting you know my SS hopper #12XX is still working great!

I thought I would have had to replace the batteries by now but they're still working better than I expected.. :hmm:

They don't last quite as long as when they were brand new and it takes a couple extra seconds to heat up but the hopper still performs just as well as when I got it and did day by day posts.

I have not used my hopper in a few weeks unfortunately as I am testing many other vaporizers now.:disgust:

I see there is still a wait on them so I am probably going to post it in the classifieds so someone who has been patiently waiting can use and appreciate it rather than me have it sitting in the box while I am testing 7 different vapes. I can always get another
one later.:brow:

I just wanted to pop in here and let you all know it is still working great!

The grasshopper is truly a great vaporizer, I tested it thoroughly and it passed.
After using it for as long as I did I only have 2 complaints but they are the same complaints everyone has.

1-the tip gets hot and the session extender is a must if taking more than 2 or 3 draws, to be expected because the heater is right there.
2-the batteries don't last long enough (for me any way). This is to be expected though given the size of the unit and size of the battery.
I am actually more impressed with the batteries now.
They exceeded my expectations for sure

So basically the grasshopper exactly met my expectations. It works and functions just as I figured it would, so I can't complain. Truly an amazing vaporizer. I went into this hoping for the best. I was not disappointed.

Well done GHL, well done!

:peace:

My first time crowdfunding a project was the Elevation Dock. That was the most successful Kickstarter project at the time, and the first to surpass one million dollars in funding.

The dock was literally a hunk of metal with a stock Apple dock connecter in it. It was manufactured in America, just like the Grasshopper. So it should have been very simple to produce right? No moving parts, no real electronics to speak of.

Well the first ones shipped in June 2012, two months after the announced date of April. And according to their updates, they were hoping to finish the last of the backers in the final week of September, five months late. I should mention that after June, the updates slowed to only one per month.

Elevation Lab was having trouble getting the machining and finishing right, even though they were trying to work with the best manufacturers possible. The dock was also marketed as a premium product and priced higher than its competition, unlike the Grasshopper which is priced lower, for the time being at least.

I didn't mind waiting for my dock then, and I don't mind waiting for the Grasshopper now. Sure, the less waiting the better, but from all accounts it is a beautifully made, high performance vaporizer in a form factor that simply has no rival currently. For whatever reason I find that pen shape very appealing, probably because I spent too many years smoking cigarettes, joints and blunts.

Guys, I get it. And don't get me wrong, I really want a GH when they actually have them to ship. I like what I hear about its function and it fits a niche in my vaping life that I want to fill (i.e. portable, instant on, can hit and run and don't need to session)

But that doesn't mean that I need to blind myself to their actual company performance or become a defender of the GH faith. I have personally been a very early employee at a number of very high tech start ups in the telecom arena and have worked in optical telecom and software defined network areas . I think somebody above made the reply that, and I paraphrase "yeah, GH really is high tech" as this being a reason (or even an excuse) for GH's extraordinarily poor execution to schedule. Its not. Bottom line is they have executed poorly, they have not set their customers expectations for shipment properly, and they keep stringing people along (17 MONTHS!!).

Now, that doesn't mean that you or anybody else is not entirely entitled to wait for your GH and be ok with it all. Fine with me, I'm not trying to get anybody wound up.

But please don't try to convince me that this is an example of a well run startup and give me an example of another poorly run startup's execution as the proper height of the bar against which to measure GH.

Later.

Hey, sorry if it came across the wrong way. I'm not trying to change anyone's mind, I don't care who buys one. In fact, if people want to cancel their order great, it'll just move me up in line lol.

I do have to disagree with your measure of success. Microsoft, Apple, Intel are all considered well-run companies by most people, and they miss estimated dates. Does that mean they are not well run? Microsoft often misses software estimates, with no manufacturing involved whatsoever.

My point was not to say that Elevation Lab was the best run company ever. Hypothetically though, what could they have done better? They tried to use the best American manufacturers possible and were receiving units that weren't up to their standards, so it took time to make more and refinish the existing ones. I don't know what more they could have done to avoid that from happening.

I gave that example merely to illustrate difficulties in the manufacturing process that are often not the fault of the startup itself. Software based startups don't have this excuse, but hardware is a whole different can of worms.

And where is Elevation Lab today? A successful company making high quality made in America products. I think they were run quite well as a startup when you look at the big picture.

I don't thing GHL is perfect, but they managed to make an incredible project at a great price, and I think they will still be here 4 years from now making great products.

Hi Vapor Eyes - valid points all, peace brother and may GH solve all of their supply and manf issues and succeed beyond their expectations. I really do what them to succeed as I really do want a vape like the GH.

Have a great weekend!
