Great idea, @cloudsosmoke ! Smallest of loads only, of course.

I had to read your post twice before getting it.
My capsule bottom harmlessly stuck to CU screen when I opened to dump.
Easier than using Crafty liquid pad as spacer. And easier to keep clean!

Does anyone have a Crafty and Mighty? I have a Mighty and love it but I'm thinking of getting a Crafty as well for more portability. The only concern I have is the failure rate of the Crafty and whether it's really necessary given that I own a Mighty. Any insight would be appreciated!

Yep, 2 Mighty's and 1 Crafty. Crafty rarely gets used because it's only for portability outside of the house. But it definitely fits that stealthy need nicely, and I don't mind that it's not getting overused (like my Mighty's!). Only you can decide if it's worth the potential for RMA.....for me, at this point anyway, it is. I'm sure that will change once the summer is over though! Still hoping for a Crafty killer..... but I may be hoping for a while..... the GH didn't do it for me.

I have both and use the Mighty round the house , in the garden and for longer sessions without the capsules. I use the Crafty when I am in public places or while I am riding my bike! Don't wanna miss one of the devices.

i love my craffy,but i got a volcano,mflb as backup and also kn the waitong list for the grasshopper...if there would only be a easy way of swapping the batteries on the crafty....

@jdent3 I just picked up a Crafty for better portability to augment my Mighty. I figure the Crafty will be used far less frequently, so l'm hoping that helps me avoid an RMA

I have not missed Crafty (any of them!) since Mighty came. I think size is the only thing Crafty has 'over' Mighty. For me, portability is enhanced when I can take Mighty out and get 6 or 7 bowls, and that usually means I get home in plenty of time to charge. I don't even have a car charger for Mighty. Crafty always got hooked to charger somewhere, lest it run down, cause then it takes longer to charge than, say, Mighty would! It also takes longer to reach operating temp. I will not deny that Crafty works great...

You may have less frequent and more stealth needs and plans than I, and as a second piece it may work out great. Most see now that Crafty doesn't hold up to heavy use long-term. We use a Pax2 sometimes, it's less obvious than either of the others, much better battery life than Crafty, ten year warranty. Yeah, I know, conduction, etc., but it's a nice change of pace (to a slow sipper), and that thing really does fit very nicely in a pocket. Effective, too.

I am waiting on some Hoppers, don't know how things will shake out when they enter the mix, but in any case I don't think I'll be buying any Crafty's soon.

heres hoping this post will be slightly more coherent

yea - capsule base only fits on top of very small loads - not a lot of clearance there
im thinking maybe it can give you a higher puff per minute rate
so you can flash-vape in public

- which is sort of what i do with them
small load covered by capsule base -quick puffs - gone in 30sec
(that is if youve already planned for the 2min warm up)
i find its reasonably faster
- tho theres no quick swap refill after

but when i have more time and space for session
..enjoying sunset down at canal say ..
i tend to just use pacman screen or liquid pad and i blow to clean then refill from narrow plastic tube filled with pre-ground herb - rather than have several caps in magazine

i must try small load - fluffy electic grind in cap - update: just did - i get much nicer taste


to tell the truth i dont always understand Brit humo(u)r myself
so ill just have to guess at good Brit superlative..

Maybe my vision is clouded by infatuation, but ABV looks darker. Getting great results.
Fun and quick to load eight capsules in the morning. Opening improves with practice.

Quite a concept -- one capsule for any S&B vape.

Dosing capsules have made the following differences to my crafty experience...

Sessions are shorter as you are using less weed in the chamber. This is a good thing for me because with quality strains I would rarely completely finish a bowl because I was so wrecked.

AVB is more consistent colour. I am guessing there is more convection going on and less conduction. Again, a positive thing.

My Crafty has not over heated when going back 2 back. I'm putting this down to being able to reload in 2 seconds and sessions are a little shorter overall.

My Crafty chamber is sparkling clean all the time.

Loading my Crafty is a doddle outside and in public.

Overall I'm very happy with them.

Seeing as I couldn't find any propper instructions, here is my explanation of how I believe these new products should be used.

Loaded capsules should be stored upright. So the lid of the cap is on top of the cap and the cap moves freely in its little space in the basket.

Used capsules should be stored upside down so the lid is firmly pushed tightly into its space in the basket.

If you do this you'll know which caps are used and you'll also be able to get the lids off easily by levering the used cap away from the basket, leaving the lid still in its little space in the basket. Once you do it enough times the lids come away more easily by hand.

I was on the fence, seeing differing reactions to the caps, but this sells me!
Imma get two of the holders to take out and about (it's for Mighty, after all). Yeah, 16 half loads should do...and no filling tool to carry. hmmm.

I can almost always manage to 'need' some sundries - screens, o-rings, brushes to cover the free postage $25 hurdle. I have to give credit not just to design at S&B, but to marketing dept. as well...

Hey all I am wondering who here suggests the crafty over the firefly 2. I am thinking of ordering both so I know for sure which one I would like more. I owned a mighty and LOVED it, but not as stealth as I'm looking for. I just hear mixed reviews with the crafty.

not sure ff 2 is very stealthy..

i had ff1 - you can hide glowing bowl with your hand - now even easier as ff2 is smaller

- but that shiny silver trim also on ff2 felt like a beacon in sunlight


crafty is good as mighty - but might need replacing/repairing a few times over 2 yr warranty
im on my third.. 26hr then 186hr and currently 51hr
all new replacements - usually takes about a week - id say its pretty good service

.. they dont seem to let you have free battery replacement in US
so you might want to think if youll run up a lot of hours - they might charge you



but on the other hand
im curious to hear a direct comparison - so maybe you should get both and tell us about it

I'm sort of leaning towards the CFX to hold me over till my ff2 gets here! It's so cheap especially with the PIU code.

Stealth doesn't matter to me as much as size I meant.

Crafty #3 bit the dust yesterday morning at 69 hours. I babied this one. Never used it through water, never did back to back bowls, always let it cool down before plugging it in and don't think I ever saw the "too hot" message in the app. My previous two failures were not unexpected as the bottom of the vape was getting too hot to touch on a regular basis. This one seemed to be working just fine and started flashing yellow and red randomly in the middle of a bowl.

I requested a Mighty upgrade in my RMA request. Seems like the Mighty can actually stand up to normal use. Hopefully I'll have a Mighty in hand in the next couple weeks.

re small vapes - i have vapman (butane) - it is swiss-watchmaker small and it lives in an egg case

basic model is very good price
..ppl seem to like it a lot on thread


but you know how good S&B vapes are - crafty would be difficult to beat

Whats the cause for them going out? is it a dead battery?

26hr start button broke
186hr vibrate malfunction + slow to heat ~3min (..battery worn out a bit)

Is it almost a guarantee that you will have an issue with a Crafty eventually? Seems like some people are having them pretty quickly!

I want one but don't want the hassle of having to send it in constantly.

Crafty's work great but it's a little like a 2 year subscription to the original Netflix. When you've 'finished' with one, you send it in & swap for another.

i had the same worries,i think you might consider a backup unit,i went straight for it amd no regrets with 30h in a month on it,but id not trust it as a main device,just because all the negative feedbacks all over...

Anyone notice on the newer Crafty's that any time you tap the power button it vibrates for a fraction of a second?

Just hit hour 3 on my Crafty....and flawless...getting at least 4 bowls per charge, and that's with 2 bars left. I'm not torture testing this one like my last....rarely go above 195c.

Do you think they've changed/improved the electronics or battery function to achieve more bowls-per-charger? Sounds like you could be getting at least 6 if you tried, and that sounds unusually good for Crafty, no? Are some back-to-back, so full warmup doesn't have to happen every bowl? Half bowls with your domed screen?

i have an RMA number and label for my battery life issues, but i dont want to be without it, even in it's lesser state. I will drop it in the ups box this evening, i swear!
