I think I need a refresher on SR71 assembly :(

finally have enough wax to justify its use and I cant get any decent cloud production. I know for a faaaaaact that it was chugging last time I used it. and I literally got it working, then put it in the case with my spare 8 (that i was using strictly for it) and then took everything out and cant get didly poop from it now =[

edit: yey nvm i guess I just had something screwed down too tight originally. rebuilt and added more oil and that fixed things a lot

Thanks G and the W9 crew for making the new Omicron 510 thread. I have been using TC on an Artery Nugget set to 350 degrees. The Omi cart is slick and small and the mod drives it perfectly. I have not charged the battery yet, been using it randomly for 2 weeks. The regular AC is nice, but the cart that comes with the Omi has the cooling fins and a more finished look to it. Great Work! Temp control at 20 watts is flavor country! and the hits keep comin'.

@joekar and others I apologize for keeping you waiting, it took me a while to catch up from a busy weekend...

I was up north visiting BC Bubbleman who invited me back for Hash Church episode 86. The majority of the discussion (the first 3 hours) were solidly about AUM, the new California initiative with a lot of conversation between Etienne Fontan, Todd McCormick, and Tim Blake (Founder of the Emerald Cup) discussing that new law. After about 3hrs 14min Marc decided to mix up the conversation and we began talking a bit about vaporizers.

Bubbleman loaded up a quarter gram or so of Green Crack rosin from West Coast Concentrates into about ten drops of AC/DC terpenes from Blue River extracts and I poured that into the Herc...

We took one hit each and as a newcomer to the terps I hit a bit of an overload...

After Church ended we went out for a bit more proper of a Herc session

and then I finally headed for the border so I could get back to work and do.... something.... What was that, again???

Oh yeah... Sorry to keep you waiting...

@THC SCIENTIFIC @SamuraiSam So besides 510, what's new with the new herc?

I literally just read this from Sam on Reddit and it answers your question:

"Some of the new features of the newest Hercules Oil Cartridge are that it comes with a 0.8Ω rod inside and has native 510 threading on the Threaded Assembly and Bottom Insulator. The text printed has changed from "Hercules SR-74x" to simply say "Hercules" and the remainder of the device is the same as the SR-74x. :)"

I just ordered mine from puff it up yesterday. Should have it tomorrow, woohoo! Will be my first Herc and should be a great addition to my W9 lineup.

Any tips on how to remove a ceramic rod from a Hercules SR-74X? I can not get it to budge in either direction, even after soaking the entire assembly in ISO overnight prior to heating it with boiling water. Thanks for the help.

Other people will chime in with some other suggestions, but the most important one to me is go up instead of down with the rod. Pushing it up through the top is much, much easier than going down.

Heat it up by powering it on your Persei. Get the rod hot and transfer heat into the metal housing. Take off the heat shield and wear gloves, take the Herc apart when its cooled enough to touch, and then remove the retaining collar and AAF. Push the rod into the Hercules by putting the tip of the rod on a table and pushing down on the upper heater core, it usually goes inside easier than it comes out.

Hey, could someone offer some advice? I'm considering getting the "hercules" (newest) off puffitup. I'm wondering, is there a suitable box mod or which would be the best to power the device?
