That brings to mind a question. Is battery life totally dependent on time of button depression, or does draw strength *pull* more (or less) current, thus effecting battery life? That seems to be my experience, but still too early to tell. I must get back to testing...

That's a tricky question to answer but I would say yes: the hotter the heater gets, the higher its internal resistance rises (being SS the coef is positive) So if you hit the trigger without drawing, temperature will, rise, resistance will rise, voltage will then drop more across the load and Ohm's law tells us the amps will decrease, in turn lowering the power output.

Now if you remove enough of that heat by drawing, it will cool the heater a bit (good luck cooling it really though! :p) and one could argue that it should allow to output more Watts and thus drain the battery quicker.

That effect would be with a stable voltage power source though. With our battery cells we have the voltage sag to take into account, and the sag will be lower when the load becomes lighter (due to higher resistance) so in some way it must counter-balance the above effect some...hm... :sherlock:

The stock screens fit perfectly into the air intake cutout. I used a dremel sanding tool and just took a little off one side. It looks so much nicer without the mesh showing.

Hopefully they pick up this method. This looks very clean and professional. Great job.
I bought one of each of the colored stems from Mountain. Of those, only 1/2 fit the Zion correctly. They are Chinese and the joints are not precisely ground.

I'll bet RBT's are Chinese in origin. Not all of my (RBT) stems fit in my mi properly, when I asked Ryan about this he said its fine and that manufacturing tolerances vary ever so slightly. I used a dremel for 1-2 seconds and was in business.
I did not bother. I cut one down with a dremel, but it was not the right blade for the job. It took a very long time.

A small grinding wheel will eat away an extra mm in a hurry. Its easy to maintain shape a smoothness this way without necessarily requiring a flame polish.
EDIT: Wear dust mask or respirator. (Safety glasses too!)

Still waiting for my own Mi to return...:bang::rant:

And it may seem like the obvious thing to say but wear eye protection too!
I worked in an industry where glass/eye events were a continual risk, and ended up in hospital 5-6 times.
Ophthalmologists hate glass as small pieces are really hard for them to see, and can't be recovered with magnets.
The things I've had done to my eyes would make most people's toes curl.
Wear glasses and proceed with care .

Hey quick question. I always remove my battery, but im not sure of the reasoning. Is the battery removal recommended so that the button doesn't get pressed by accident? or is it just generally better for the battery?

I end up putting my battery in, and taking it out between Every session that isn't back to back, even if the sessions are only 1-2 hours apart. Is it fine to just leave the battery in all day if you are just using it at home and have no risk of the button being pressed in a bag or something?

Just so Dab HAppy!
Xtar VP2 for a 2 bay charger and for a 4 bay charger OPUS 3100 v2.2

Nitecore is OK too....but nothing special and no analyzer functions like the Opus

If you want best of the best SkyRC MC3000.....if you are willing to do some research and use it to it's potential
Anybody got a good link for the OPUS 3100 v2.2? I need a 4 bay charger and was considering this over the d4.

Definitely dude, good catch! My backround is in construction, PPE is a no brainer for myself but I often forget to suggest it to others as its been deeply ingrained into my routine.

No, the concern is accidentally pushing the button. I leave my battery in whenever the device isn't in a pocket.

I would jump on Zion now, but will I actually get one in the foreseeable future? I refuse to wait years, months, or even weeks. Rather buy and receive vs buy and wait, takes the fun out if it for me. Hopefully, this will happen soon: http://www.planetvape.ca/zion-vaporizer.html

Don't think anyone ever addressed this although you might have meant it rhetorically. If not, though, I wouldn't pre-order a Zion if you know you don't want to wait. Cause you're gonna wait. Why put yourself through that stress? It will be on the market eventually, and you can hop on it then.

If rhetorical...well, carry on. lol.

Edit: @NinjaMindTriks , they're both quality. Can't go wrong with either.

Milaana is doing the job swimmingly. My *tool kit* includes a mini battery tester and digital counter to keep track of stems per battery. Simple, effective... Gaining real control, better effect, taste, batt life, and I'm sure more to come. I'm having a grand old time on next to no product.

@Gobrian : no big deal, for all practical matters they are essentially the same cells.

That's a subjective statement.
I m still curious about where he ordered and if it was from the RBT site, why I didn't have the same choice!

Also, regarding leaving batteries in during transport, I saw a vid a couple pages back where the person in it uses a piece of paper between the battery and the top metal piece to block contact. Seems like a good easy way to prevent accidental on's

I find the comparisons between vapes to be very interesting. For me it comes down to individual differences and what you are personally looking for from your vaping experience. Since I got my Milaana last week, my Evo and Herbalizer haven't been touched, and likely won't be any time soon. While the Evo can extract more quickly and can give huge milky hits once heat soaked, my overall experience is better with the Mi.

The vapour that comes from the Mi tastes better than a heat soaked Evo, and is much quicker to achieve I am using less per session with the Milaana than I was with the Evo while getting similar effects. While I find there will be a tolerance change with a new vape, for my experience any tolerance change stabilizes within a couple of days of using one vape. I was using on average .12-.13g per session with the Evo, it is down to approximately .09g with the Milaana. I find the Milaana significantly easier on my lungs, and that is mostly using it dry vs through water. I know smaller hits are one factor, but even smaller hits from the evo bother me more than big hits from the Milaana.

My experience with the Milaana has gotten better as my skill with it has improved. I am now able to extract what I need without stirring. I am using the Milaana with three different "stems" depending on the temperature I am looking for. Early in the day, I am looking for low temps so I use my PV EQ vortex adapter as a stem because it is about as short as the short stem and I get great flavour (mmm, Super Lemon Haze). Mid-day I use the longer stem to help with the slightly higher temps that I go for. Late afternoon onward I use either a longer m2m or the vortex adapter with water.

I prefer to use the screens basket style because I find them easier to clean. I also put a fine screen behind the RBT screen because I find that particles come through the stock screen very easily. I have a sample screen on the way from @Ratchett that I will give feedback on. I also have some hemp fibre on the way to test and see if I can remove the extra screen after adding it.

I am using one LG HE4 and two Samsung 25Rs and those keep me able to vape all day. I haven't noticed any difference between the batteries. I get about 4 stems per battery before I feel the need to change.

Please keep the ideas for cases coming, I am looking for something that suits my needs.

And seriously? The Zion is that much better than this?

@fluffhead : Zion adds comfort, extra predictability and fine-tuning to the experience, as well as extended battery life. Plus it's self contained with stem and stash storage, magnetic battery compartment...
Thanks, I am quite excited to get my Zion in its time. Having the Milaana makes it a lot easier to wait. It also makes it a lot easier to read these threads!

Also, for those concerned about combustion, I have had many, many stems already and I don't think I've been close to combustion once. I've gotten some loads very dark brown and thoroughly extracted without any charring (not even 10% combustion!). While I have been cognizant of the potential for combustion, I have yet to be concerned about it.

I really freaking hope I get mine this week, and could selling a couple vapes and ordering a Zion be in my future?? Probably..
That or they need a screen cleaning. I mentioned before i clean mine daily (after putting several grams through a day)
how do you clean yours? Just an Iso wash I assume? I'm just wondering because I plan on using this as my primary vape and I usually go through a similar amount of herb. Cleaning screens could save me quite a bit of money.
