Surely I am just doing something wrong with my Station? It's not like that Station is broken because it heats up the vapman and eventually the buds turn brown. Any tips from the pro's?

I'm not a pro but wanna try to help you. I assume that you know how to use the station so I don't think its a user error.
I had to vape some sessions to get used to the station. Now I like temp 2 - 3.5 for pure dry vapman hits (thats how I use it most) and temp 4 - 5 to use it trough a water tool. Temp 5 - 6 is what I like for hash.
When I'm at home I only use the vapman with its station. I think that maybe the temp when using hash was to high before when I used it with the lighter.
All in all I have to say using the station is very satisfying. For sure I can get bigger clouds when I heat it with the lighter, but thats not what I want. With the station I can get very consistent hits. It starts prroducing clouds at the 2nd or 3rd hit.

Check if your vapman sits correctly at the heating element of the station when the LED start blinking. It happend to me that the heating (or cooling before heating) cycle of the station started before the vapman was in the correct position. I only noticed this behavior when using it at night near my desk lamp. Maybe the setting for the photo diode (I assume thats the sensor used in the station) is a litte bit to sensitive under these conditions. But thats not a problem because it just happens very rarely.

If you're doing everything right and still have problems with the station I would't hesitate to contact @vapman for help. He's such a nice guy and always helpful!

Gonna switch on the station for one more session bevore I go to bed. I really love it! And the vapman! And this forum! And the members of this forum! So happy that I found this place!:love::wave:

I love love LOVE my Vapman guys. New #1 and all my friends love it too.
Still shocks me how ripped I get off a bowl or 2 on this thing, and i thought I had heavy tolerance.

The vapman station I'm not having as much luck with though, I keep trying different things with it and I don't really get any rips off of it, like I get some flavors but no visible vapor to exhale and definitely not the same effects.

I've been trying to be patient with it but I keep ending up getting no hits off my vapstation bowls yet when I use a torch it's reliable and I get fat delicious vapor clouds each time.

Surely I am just doing something wrong with my Station? It's not like that Station is broken because it heats up the vapman and eventually the buds turn brown. Any tips from the pro's?

Until then I'll keep on torchin' the vapman, I let a bunch of friends try it at a party last night and one started to check his wallet to see if he could buy it off me then and there, but I told him "nope I bought mine at puff it up.com and you can too!"

Whats up fellow Boston vapman toker! Did I see you on 4/20 in the commons? I brought my vapman but didn't see any other vapmans there.

I used my friend's Grasshopper for the first time last night. I'd ask if it was you but he doesn't own a vapman :D

How would you compare how the vapman hits versus how the grasshopper hits? Let's say you get a really good rip off both at their peak performance starting off with a fresh bowl. Can you say one is better than the other? Curious to hear feedback from people who have both units to compare.

Funny you say this because I met up with a friend I aven't seen in about a year yesterday. He's been wanting to try the vapman and I've been wanting to try the grasshopper, so we packed both and kept going until we were too vaped out to keep going. In short we both preferred the vapman for vapor quality and flavor ;)

The grasshopper is a killer stealth portable and gives very good quality vapor but it is my feeling it seems like it's more meant for stealth than vapor quality, the vapman is up there with the best of them but happens to be super stealth as well.

I will give the vapman station some more try guys, thanks a lot expectially you @digitalessignal I have been using it on 4 and up to 6 with flowers so i'll definitely try turning it down and having a little patience?

I was going to mention the weather and Vapman too, but in my case, the winter is fast approaching and my solar system is not keeping up well like it use to, so I'm very much appreciating the butane heating. I have to remind myself that I wouldn't be using the station now anyway, and that helps the desire fade a little.

This is an excellent off-grid vape!!

@DrNick420 I find that the station gives a slower extraction. Instead of 2 big clouds I get 5-6 smaller hits. Same amount of actives but spread over more hits.

When I first got my vapman I was aiming for the biggest cloud possible on my first hit. Heating until it leaked vapor from the middle section. Now I like to heat for 3 seconds, hit, then repeat until the bowl is cashed. So much flavour to be had at low temps.

A milk shot just for fun

Such different beasts its hard to compare.

The grasshopper is purely convection it has great flavour at low temps and throughout the bowl. I can get bigger clouds from the grasshopper than the vapman especially if you use a waterpiece. But the vapour is very hot at higher temps.

I actually just posted on grasshopper thread saying they should drill small air holes in the mouthpiece to cool the vapour a la vapman

Gh is amazing stealth vape and super useful if you live in a prohibited area. I see it like an oilpen for flowers.

However the vapman has a life and soul that no other vape can match. You become one with vm and the more you put in the more you get out (not talking load size!) I love the lower temp terpy hits on vm with the slight woody sweet backround.

Theyre just such different vapes. If you have any other questions feel free to pm me or happy to post in this thread also.

Cheers

Edit .. gh is great for a cheeky puff and put down. Whereas id say to get best out of vm its nice to keep the heat going and finish bowl in one sitting.

I agree 100 % with vapourhaze . the grasshopper is great for fast , discreet hits, and it has nice flavor on low temps. the vapor gets too hot on higher settings for me now that I've been vaping for 6 years. this is easily fixed by using a hydrotube , whip, or crafty cooling unit ( or any other suitable method ).
this is exactly what I thought the product would be when I backed it several years ago, and it gets used more than any other vape. I'm still using an Herbalaire which has one of the most thorough extractions , an Aromed which is still the most flavorful, and potent , my pax is collecting dust, and of course the VM which has attached itself to my soul.
the VM and GH hold approx the same load and I've been impressed by both. the biggest difference is I can get ripped on the VM using it as sold. it has cool, gentle, tasty vapor if heated properly. the GH can be quite powerful , but I can only achieve the effect I desire with attachments.

the GH is James Bond cool, and the GH is an elegant, artistic form and function all in one which is equally nice to use as it is to behold and admire.

Before I got my SS grasshopper the vapman classic was my outdoor vape. Now i take the GH when using it in public. The vapman still has its place in my backpack when i go hiking or biking. I think the egg is nearly waterproof and you don't have to think about additional batteries and stuff...when chilling in the nature where discreetness is not needed the vapman will always be my favorite!
At home I use my basic vapman with the station quite often. When I want fast extraction I use the GH with a WT. When watching a movie I prefer sipping my Solo because I always empty the vape after the session.

It's hard to explain but I would say the vapman can be the harshest from my 3 vapes. Don't get me wrong! It gives very tasty and nice soft hits. But if I heat it to much it can let me cough very easy. It also produces my darkest abv. But that has changed after I got the station which learned me how to get a nice even and slow extraction.
With the GH every hit from temp 3 - 5 feels like I have to cough but it doesn't happen. I think thats due to the very short vapor path and the hot air. But also the volcano used with a bag feels very harsh to me...I don't know, maybe thats how convection feels...
I have to say that I use the GH only for 2 or 3 hits and put it away to cool down before using it again. Combined with the silicone tip and the short glass strem from my solo or a WT I can go through a hole chamber without a problem.
I think one hit of the GH can deliver more actives than one hit of my other (conduction) vapes. The taste is also good but for me it is not as enjoyable as a vapman session.

GH for a quick stealth hit or fast ripping through water.
Solo as a working animal when just lying at the couch or to sip some minutes at temp 2 or 3.
Vapman if I really want to relax in the nature, in the garden or with the station on my desk when typing these lines or surfing the web.

For me the vapman has the smallest bowl size but it is also the most efficient vape. The solo packs nearly twice as much and the GH a little bit more then the solo.

I don't think any of my vape could compensate another one. But when I had to choose or if I talk with someone about vaping I will always turn up the vapman bacause the materials and the whole concept is just a work of a genius! And everyone who saw it was really amazed (not to talk about the guys that also used it...).

Thats just my experience but I'm still a noob...fucked combustion and started vaping a year ago...

Not gonna lie you guys I was damn near ready to pack the Station away for good or send it back as faulty. What I had no idea about is what by starting at 4 and working my way up to 6 when I wasn't getting results was actually what I was doing wrong. I haven't turned it past 2.5 and I've been getting RIPPED just doing one after the other after the other...

I love torching the vapman but wow I haven't used the station this much since I got it. I wish the instructions noted you should get it kept under 3 for flower and save 4+for hash and other things, but hey, it seems like I'm the only one dumb enough to have to be told this so far :)

It's funny seeing the vap man himself like my posts but it also makes me happy knowing my struggles in fumbling with the station are being monitored by the man himself!

Sorry for double posting but I can not edit my last post, I guess this is intentional.

I found this site: http://infinityvm.com

It looks awful much like the official vapman site, but i can't tell if it's vapman affiliated or not. I want to be sure i'm not buying a counterfeit vapman, but I do like they dark chocolate one a lot, so i hope it's for real and somehow affiliated with the real vapman company. Or should I just order my next one from switzerland directly?

Great to hear it and @M0J0 I am sorry I doubted you I just had to check! (Well If I Knew It was run by a FC trusted user I would have no question in the first place!)

Don't be, IMO it's well worth checking out. There's a lot of counterfeit Mojos out there you know. And lots of young vapers that want to be just like him when they grow up.

Best to be sure you're dealing with the genuine article. You're just being careful.......

Enjoy your VM, no matter where you get it. Last I checked PIU still offers a couple models and is definitely a White Hat Dealer worthy of trust. Nothing like our Mojo of course in the number of offerings of course.

@DrNick420 Thank you for the revealing posts, I learned a lot about the station I did not think of before.
Funny, when doing the manual, I first mentioned to start at level 2-3 but abandoned exactly that sentence later on. Now, I know it was a good advice and it will be in the final manual. The final manual will have pictures and look like an official manual and not just like a sheet of paper.

BTW, last night I was using the station for the first time since a couple of weeks after testing the SS washer using the lighter only. ( I am still thrilled about the improvement through the washer, the best thing since I made that little fellow!)
I almost forgot how well the station works because the lighter works so well. While doing some flowers my brain started to turn around the question: Where and what is the subtle difference between heating vapman with the lighter and the station? I was particularly intrigued because I was using some flowers which needed a lot of heat with the torch. First I thought I have to set the station at least to level 5 but started at 3 as always and surprisingly, it vaporized the load perfectly well. This is my theory:

The temperature curve with the lighter is linear, the torch always provides the same energy at the same flame size, lets say it heats constantly with 100W.
The station on the other side has a different temperature curve. At first when hitting the station, the energy is maybe 120W for a short time and decreases as the stored energy in the docking part is used up and finally heats with only 50W, this is the nominal power of the station.
I would be lying when saying, this was my intension but it seems to be the perfect principle to heat up botanic materials. The station is fast and still very gentle, a difficult combination to achieve. Is it luck, is it magic? I don't care, it is vapman and it works!

Again, vapman is mainly that good because of the copper bowl, you can't beat copper when it comes to cooking and heating up organic materials. Copper is such an excellent conductor, no matter how you heat the bowl, the heat gets distributed almost instantly. The difference between steel, glass and copper is huge, there will be more vaporizers with copper bowls in the future, my word!

Does any one have any suggestions for dry herb vape tanks I am really new to using dry herb vaporizers and I can't seem to find a good one?

I'm not at all sure what you mean by 'dry herb vape tanks'. Do you mean something you can screw on a mod's 510 connector and vape herb in? IMO the only one that works even remotely well is the Devine Crossing Atty as discussed on the Divine Tribe Forum:
http://ineedhemp.com/product/the-dc-dry-herb-atomizer-510-thread/
http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/divine-tribe-attys.14455/

It's a 'work in process' that requires some skill with power to get good results, but it does deliver when driven 'right'. Temperature control, as is possible with the DT attys, as yet alludes us. Hopefully that will get fixed in due time. Aside from that all the 'cobbled up from e-cig parts I've tried have been disasters. 'No vapor or combustion' are the eventual results.

However, this Forum is entirely the wrong place to be asking such things I think. This is where the Vapman fans hang out, it's fire driven and nothing at all like what you're looking for? I suggest you ask in the "Ask FC" forum, you're sure to hit a wider audience.

Good luck with it.

I'm happy we were able to help each other, maybe indirectly, either way I'm glad for it :)
I was actually thinking a similar thing when I was "figuring out" vapman station about torch vs electric heating power differences. :D

Hey, no apology allowed for not knowing all the details of this chaotic Forum, nobody does? For sure I don't. I know a bit about part of it. Or at least think I do. I think the best results are there, and hope you get prompt and useful advice. And on that topic, getting advice, I hope you try my advice and 'show up' on the DT Forum. Lots of great folks there, discussing details of common interest and exploring the exciting developments there......just like here. Only different. That's subjective, of course, you might not find it exciting. Some guys want to lay their money down and get on with it, which is also cool but different.

There, like here, we are blessed by having 'the Big Dog' actively participating. Just like you see in the posts here on this Forum recently the inventor is celebrating his success with improving an already great product. He 'shared' (I tend to cringe at that, overused IMO) every step of the process with us and solicited our opinions. I'm here to tell you it just doesn't get much better than that.

"Over there" the Big Man is Matt. Check it out, I think you'll be very impressed with the man, not just his products. Then, when you've scratched that itch, by all means come back and figure out why we are all so 'sold' on the humble little VM. A very easy thing to underestimate at first.......

Regards and best wishes on your vaping adventures. Welcome to FC, here (unlike some lesser Forums.....) you're in good company indeed.

Hi All

I finally fulfilled my dream of owning a Vapman Classic.

I lurked here a bit while waiting for it to arrive and I've spent a few days working with it. I've been an Ubie user for years.

The Vapman takes a fair bit of trial and error. I don't have the greatest torch lighter to work with while I wait for another (hopefully better) one to be shipped. I just picked this thing up from a local smoke shop. Definitely paid too much at $20 CDN. It needs to be refilled every three days. The whole darn thing lights up with a blue glow (don't know if there's a battery involved in that somewhere). It's pretty in low light....

I see what people say about more flavour and a stronger affect with fewer hits. And the affect definitely lasts much longer than with the Ubie.

Getting clouds is hit or miss. This lighter isn't that hot. It takes a couple of 7-second blasts just to warm it up. I got a wee bit impatient once after several small hits and overheated the pan a bit. Then I exhaled a big opaque cloud and coughed so hard, I nearly hacked up a lung! Ouch! Not an experience I want to repeat. The herb left in the pan afterwards was almost black.

For the most part, I'm enjoying it and it's very efficient. It definitely uses less than the Ubie, which surprised me...I didn't think that was possible. In fact, no matter how many people said they couldn't believe how small the Vapman was, that still didn't prepare me for how surprised I was by its tinyness! It really is an adorable little thing!

Hey, great! Welcome aboard! FWIW I found Ubie very hard to control, but found VM rapidly became a natural rhythm and predictable results. Sounds to me like you're being hampered by a sub standard lighter. You definitely need to pile on the power, we need to store all the heat for the upcoming hit in hot copper. At the same time, of course, heat is escaping. That is there are torches so small that they can't deliver the heat fast enough to ever make it. "a couple of 7-second blasts just to warm it up" is way past with I do. I have my torch set up so the flame is as long as the mouth of the VM (or so) and hit it for a 'four count' (probably a bit over 3 seconds) twice when cold a few seconds apart, once when hot. If production doesn't 'feel right' I bump the time up a bit.

You're right, of course, VM is a mighty tool for extraction of vapor. It can do a bang up job with a tiny pinch for sure. Big cloud production becomes much easier once you have techniques and tools down straight.

Anyway, welcome to the fun. Great little product we got here, draws us together. As you know from lurking there's a very wide assortment of fans here, IMO perhaps the most diverse of any, surely the ones I haunt. There's room for all types and for sure another Happy Camper. Looks sure you're gonna fit right in here. Mover over, guys, make a little room for 'the new guy'?

No reason to be sorry.

Everyone should research before buying anything.

I feel like I am part of the vapman family. Just look at how long I've been posting here and you'll see why I feel this way...

If René is the father of the vapman, I consider myself it's crazy uncle!

Also, notice that infinityvm.com is prominently featured on vapman's front page: http://vapman.com and on their contact page: http://vapman.com/en/contact

Or anyone can just ask the vapman himself if I'm to be trusted.

But no offense taken on your asking for references.

Welcome to the family!
