Vapor Rings and Other Tricks

stickstones asked about 'em, so I tried to make a video. It didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped, guess I'm rusty compared to when I smoked cigarettes, and it was kind of difficult when the camera was rolling... and trying to do everything with two hands.

You can see how dramatically lighting affects vapor visibility. Sun rays shining through a window in an otherwise unlit room seems to work really well. A dark backdrop helps as well.

This spare room at my friend's place is great. It was fairly cloudy during the vid, when the sun is shining, vapor just glows. The hits were fairly big, if only I'd brought the ice chamber...

Dude, those were awesome! Better than any smoke rings I have seen...those guys just hung there forever. I have only done rings with cigars, where all the smoke stays in my mouth and it is easy to manipulate into rings. How do you do it when you are inhaling the vapor? Do you exhale into your closed mouth and then blow them? I want to do that.

The technique is the same as with smoke. You just need a thick hit and good lighting.

certainly not as prominent as your rings vtac, but i got a couple vape rings off in this video. the overhead fan was on and i wasnt really trying as hard as i could to do perfect ones(cuz i suck at them and can only sporadically do perfect ones anyways).

i was mainly showing the style of the hit(puffing-like) and something that i meant to get into more of but didnt really talk about in the exhale, how ill blow a bit/halfish of my full hit out, suck in some fresh air and repeat that process until no more vapor is exhaled.

Here's a failed attempt at capturing some big hits on film. Kind of disappointing because they looked bloody huge from my eyes. I should have gotten someone to hold the camera for me or something.

I actually fucked it up 3 times. On the third attempt the camera wasn't set on video mode so I took one snapshot and thought it was filming the whole time.

Again, lighting is key to vapor visibility.

Vaporrings (merged, after 3 years!)

Who likes to blow vapor rings?

I could never figure out how to blow smoke rings because it requires you to hold in your hit for a while and that always made me cough up a lung. Sometimes if I was smoking a blunt ( :puke:

) I could get one out of the blue but never really figured it out.

After I got a vaporizer I realized it's the perfect opportunity to master this trick. Low and behold, I am still 'mastering' it, but I've gotten it down to where I can blow some nice thick rings that stay intact half way across my room.

There is seriously nothing more enjoyable than listening to some Allman Brothers, filling the wand of with chronic (and maybe some kief) and just blowing vapor ring after vapor ring after vapor ring after vapor ring.... :cool:

Blowing smoke rings was actually one of the things I missed most about smoking cigarettes, habit within a habit. Long live vapor!

I think it's actually easier with smoke because it's thicker/easier to see/hangs in the air longer. Be prepared to get really high practicing with vapor. :lol:
