I think this is an idea I might use. Thank you. My current black solo is coming up on 2 years old in July (i just checked my invoice on the company I bought it off's site). I've noticed it's not holding it's charge as well as it used to and that's ok, I think 2 years for a product that I have used every day and sometimes many times a day is pretty good and it's still fine and works great, but I may buy a silver one to give the older black one a break and incase of it dying or something happening to it. and me being without for a while till the order arrived.

I would have my EQ as a back up if my current black solo died but I am so accustomed to using solo all around my house, inside and out that I wouldnt wont to have to use my EQ every day for a while. I actually havent used my EQ in ages now, probably over a year. My solo gets all the use.

I would suggest that you purchase a new hi-capacity Solo battery at the same to save on postage.

FYI, there are several Solo's for sale in the classified ads.

This is criminal, I just don't get it...
My eq is a whole new level of high, compared to my solo or other portables...

I just went a week without my eq (solo only, or solo solo suppose), and I really noticed how I really don't get to the same place without it, even had some trouble getting to sleep until my tolerance reset...

Also to get high with the solo takes 20 min's of my life, eq does it in 1 rip...

Hey @kellya86, I can get just as baked from my solo as I can my EQ.

Have you tried cranking the solo to 7 and using it through your water tool? I let my gong heat up for about 5 minutes, pack it and let heat soak for a few minutes then rip it hard through water. HUGE cloud. Then maybe a little one after that. Do that twice and I can barely keep my eyes open or string a sentence together.

Temperature might be the issue? You might could losing out on some actives that you unlock with the higher temp of the EQ.

Either way I'm glad you have recovered from your unfortunate run in with those nasty incinerator fumes and are getting baked as fuck again :D

I did this once, and it was OK, but I feel that water robs me of some actives, and again, don't seem to get as high as dry...

I found nothing compare's to a single extraction from the eq? dry...

You're right @kellya86, a modded EQ is a beast. I like to change up which vapes I use because I find it helps me keep my tolerance down.

I like to use the solo on 7 through water because I can get a huge dose of actives in one go. I hold the hit for a couple seconds and use a rebreathing technique to get the most out of it. I find this gets me higher than sipping of a stem for 10 minutes. YMMV (and that's ok).

At the end of the day I'm just an Arizer fan boy. Affordable no bullshit vapes that are built like tanks and perform consistently with minimal maintainance. Count me it!

Personal preference I guess. As I tried to explain I dont really like having to get baked connected to the power. The EQ does a great job and I do like the fan forced vapour but I find the solo stem is the perfect size for a session for just myself. The EQ bowl is too big and tbh setting it up and how hot it gets with the glass etc just means I prefer the solo as my day to day vape. In saying that after your comment I think I will set up the my EQ again the next time I get a bag of good buds and give it a rip, it'll blow my head off stoned wise I bet because I am not used to it.

My two Solos get used most, but I have a place of honor for the EQ on the deck!!

Do any of you guys use an on demand vaporizer?

I love my flowermate and my solo but I'm starting to think that I can benefit from one.

My vaping habits are different than what my smoking habits used to be. I used to take a hit from a glass bowl, put out the smoke in the bowl with my thumb, wait a few minutes then repeat until I'm where I wanted to be (does that make sense?).

I feel like I'm rushing a session with the flowermate and solo so that I don't waste any cannabis.

I don't ever really feel the need to rush with my Solo. A lot of the time I'll vape one stem over the course of two full 10 minute "sessions," turning the Solo back on after the auto-shutoff. Sometimes I notice a little trickle of vapor coming out of the stem while it's sitting there, but it doesn't seem to waste a whole lot, IME.

I also have a VaporGenie, that would fall under the category of "on demand". I don't use it as frequently as my Solo, but I make sure to show it some love every once in a while. I think it's a great little vape. Some situations call for the VaporGenie, for others, the Solo is preferable. Soon I'll have a VapCap, I'm sure that one will work it's way into my daily routine as well. One of the best things about vaping is all of the different options we have when it comes to different vapes, glass, etc.

Sure, you betcha! Guilty twice. A personal favorite is the VM which you heat for every hit. It uses a torch and heats in seconds and does an amazing job with a tiny load of herb. You might check it out, lots of happy campers on that Forum.

Also well worth considering IMO is the Summit. Also set up for a hit at a time and stealth. You press it's 'big button' and it buzzes back and heats to your preset. Half a minute or so later it buzzes 3 times to tell you it's ready to deliver a hit or two (you have like a 90 second window) then it powers off again automatically. I have one friend who uses it while walking the dog and another that keeps it bedside for nighttime 'emergencies'. He doesn't have to get up to take a couple hits to get back to sleep without waking the wife next to him. I keep mine charged and loaded at the computer, I'm prone to grab it and head out to the back yard for 'a bit of fresh air'. Perhaps not as frugal as the VM but I think a gram definitely lasts longer than in my FMs.

Try loading less in the solo, or use an inverted dome....

For me a full solo is 2 full sessions, half a stem is 1 session of 10 mins...

Or have a few draws, remove the stem and save for later....minimal vapour will be lost...

@OF I find the fm is a hungry herb eater...
But I forgive it for it price, stealth and just getting the job done... it's not my vape of choice, but is the one I take everywhere just in case.... nice to have a vape I don't care about so much at work and stuff.....

Gentle Friends,

Here's my suggestion for a MP for the glass stems on Solo:

That's a short piece of HT Silicone tube connecting the stem to the MP for the newer Vapor Genies:
http://vaporgenie.com/spare-mouthpieces#.VzWQSsnSO9I

Half a buck each? How cool is that? And you can even get one free (if you're ordering something else....):
http://vaporgenie.com/1-free-mouthpieces-new-style-1-4in#.VzWQQcnSO9I

Be careful, you want the newer version, with the 1/4 inch end, not the older version with 3/16:
http://vaporgenie.com/1-free-mouthpieces-old-style-3-16in#.VzWQSMnSO9I

The larger one not only fits better but the 'business end' is a better shape.

I've used this off and on for years at this point. Originally I left the 1/4 stem end of the MP intact (just shoved it into the tube) but later chopped most of this off (wire cutters) so the tube does the support.....now it bends any way I ask it to (or not at all). It's very nice for those reflective sipping sessions where you get distracted and have trouble finding your mouth? Much nicer to bump the plastic MP with rubber shock absorber into your teeth than a glass stem......trust me on this one, no need to test it.

The plastic used is Polycarbonate ('Lexan' AKA, known for 'bullet proof plastic windows' and safety glasses and face shields). Very tough plastic (obviously) by it will scratch (don't chew on it....). It's an 'Industry Standard' for pipe MPs......also obviously since VG sells it for just that. IMO no need to fear this plastic in that place in the vapor path, but as always your call?

Mr Sifter, I was wrong, the D020 and D020-9 are quite a bit different, lots more volume in the 9. I've been trying the Pinnacle so haven't road tested the bubbler yet.
uoWrGpM.jpg
They threw in a few freebies and a 14mm gong and it is really loose, (so now I'll have 3 ) but that's ok, it works well, just floppy. I have 2 different ones in the mail.

what is so convenient about the pipe's SOLO stand ?

Can someone please give good pictures.
It is rugged and functions as protection for the bottom plate, that used to crack in some units.
But otherwise.
What do i miss ?

@buzzbomb
thank you for the comparison.
Wow, the d020-9 seems to hold double the air volume.
very nice

i like the d020 cause i can grab it like a bottle of beer

what is known about the SOLO/air performing on a FC-Ufo ?
